Scott Mills kicks off BBC Radio 2 breakfast show with huge song and bold promise

Scott Mills made a bold promise to his breakfast program’s viewers as soon as his first official day was over.

Scott made his debut on the radio at 6:30 am, replacing Zoe Ball with him forever, and he added that he had a awkward decision when choosing his first song. He began: “Here we go then, Monday, January 27, 2025, and this is the Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. I can’t believe I’m finally saying those words. If I’m honest, I’ve been a radio fan my entire life and a presenter.

For a young person who wanted to be on the radio but wasn’t sure he had the self-assurance to do it, “If I think too much about the previous occupiers of this show, it becomes mind blowing.” The aim here is to make you smile, to bring up your mood. To encourage shoulder and head dancing in bed, in the shower, in the car, in the kitchen, and to lift your spirits when it might not feel so good in the morning.

Zoe Ball (PA) has been replaced by Scott.

And I want you to reach out and participate in this show at any time, wherever you like. You will be the star of this show because of your voice, your life, and your stories, I sincerely hope you will enjoy it every day. That’s my aim. I want you to be listening every morning, and this is going to be your go-to source for information on how to be inspired, entertained, entertained, or inspired by an artist you love, or to hear a piece of music that means a lot to you.

Scott continued, stating that he had been working for the BBC for 25 years and that he would give it “absolutely everything” on the program.

Then he admitted that his first song was nearly unveiled during an appearance on The One Show last week and that many people had been trying to guess it. Everyone’s been trying to guess what our first song will be, “he said”. And as they]The One Show] introduced me, I don’t know if you saw it on Friday night. They played this in the background, and I was like, great. I simply had to smile, wave to the camera, and pretend that they hadn’t noticed that this was my first song. It is Robbie Williams, of course. “

To start off the show off a high note, Scott faded into Robbie’s most recent classic Rock DJ song. Zoe left her position on the show six years ago, and he has a new role. She delivered a moving speech to listeners and coworkers on her final day of December.

Alan Carr reveals worrying health scare as he undergoes terrifying procedure

Loved TV comedian Alan Carr has described his harrowing “health scare” and fears that he is losing his sight.

The 48-year-old comedian claimed a “spike” was stuck into his eyeball while describing how he had to have his eyeballs drained at a specialist eye hospital.

The bespectacled stand-up comic and TV host said the experience was “surreal” and left him “so worried”.

Speaking on his own podcast, Life’s a Beach, Carr told guest and fellow comic Grace Campbell: “I’ve got astigmatism – I kept telling people I had stigmata, like the wounds of Christ. Get over yourself, Alan.

“I had a bit of a health scare. I went to Moorfields [Eye Hospital, London]. I’ve got something wrong with my eyes – quite a bit of pressure. When they squirt the air into your eyes, I detest the glaucoma. My cornea was damaged by something. I was so worried. “

Following the Royal Variety Performance in November of last year (PA), King Charles III attends a meeting with Alan Carr and Amanda Holden.

He continued, “He had to basically choke me because this air entered my eye too quickly.” My eyeball was anesthetized at Moorfields, and the spike inserted onto the lens to check if it worked.

“They said: ‘Just relax Alan, and just concentrate on the spike going into your eye. ‘ I’m like excuse me? What? Oh good, the spike is coming closer. Relax! It was so surreal. My worst fear is losing my sight, and I can already feel it getting worse.

“My eyeballs need draining – they’ve got too much pressure. “

In November last year, Carr described the news that one of his TV shows has been renewed for two more series as “utterly mind-blowing” and added that it’s a “huge compliment”.

The sitcom Changing Ends, which Alan calls a “semi-autobiographical comedy,” was released on ITVX last year. A second series was released earlier in 2024 and the first series later aired on ITV.

The popular television program had been recommissioned for a third and fourth series, it was announced. They will have six episodes, according to the broadcaster, and will be back-to-back episodes. However, the release dates for the two upcoming series have not yet been announced.

Changing Ends is “based on” Alan’s own life in Northampton during the 1980s. The presenter, who writes for the program and appears in it as “himself,” was born Graham Carr, a former fourth division football manager, whose successful career included managing Northampton Town F. C. .

Oliver Savell and Taylor Fay (Gary Carr) join Oliver Savell in the cast as young Alan, along with co-stars Shaun Dooley, Nancy Sullivan, and Gary Carr. It features Rourke Mooney, Harry Peacock, and Gambby Best.

In a statement, Alan explained that getting your own sitcom recommissioned for a series was the most wonderful news ever, but getting TWO series recommissioned is utterly mind-blowing and a huge compliment. “

For someone whose actual life occasionally feels like a sitcom, believe me, there are more stories from my childhood to be told, and I know how much this show has resonated with the viewers. Two series were commissioned, eh? Two more steps closer to becoming reality, in my opinion, is that Changing Ends will become Northampton’s version of the Crown. “
