Greater Manchester Police have reported that the first Oasis homecoming concert at Heaton Park went off ‘without incident’.

Last night Oasis kicked off the first of their Heaton Park comeback shows. The five nights are the Gallagher brothers first time playing in their hometown since 2009. The gates of Heaton Park opened yesterday afternoon and fans made the most of the booze and sunshine.

The police force have now confirmed the arrest of six individuals, with offences ranging from drunk and disorderly conduct to suspicion of fraud and intent to supply cannabis. The arrested men, whose ages span from 20 to 55, are currently being held in custody. Officers equipped with drone technology responded to several violations of the air space restrictions set from 11am to 11.59pm during the Oasis gigs.

The no-fly zone extends one-and-a-half nautical miles around the venue, and violators risk facing legal action. GMP officers tracked down seven drone pilots, confiscating five drones and giving a cautionary talk to two others.

A GMP spokesperson warned: “Anyone thinking of attempting to get their drone ‘Up In The Sky’ within the restricted air space should be warned that we will not hesitate to act against you,” reports Manchester Evening News.

Assistant Chief Constable Matt Boyle expressed satisfaction with the event’s security, stating: “We are really pleased to say that fans attending the concert tonight have been able to do so safely and without incident.” He added that the police maintained a strong and visible presence to ensure public safety and that a dispersal order covering Heaton Park is effective until 2am the following day to address any potential disturbances.

“We would advise all fans travelling to and from the coming events to ensure they keep an eye out for information from our partners about transport options and road closures, allow enough time to get to the concert, keep hydrated and look out for each other.

“As always, if you notice anything that looks suspicious, report this to security staff or police immediately. This operation sits alongside resources there for anyone in need of police assistance across the whole of Greater Manchester.”

The legendary Manchester outfit, fronted by Liam and Noel Gallagher, launched the opening night of their Heaton Park residency last night (July 11) with nearly 80,000 supporters in attendance – including locals and devotees who’ve journeyed from across the globe for this momentous performance.

The Manchester dates, running through to July 20, follow the opening pair of nights from the Live ’25 tour in Cardiff last week. Initially revealed last summer, the tour represents the brothers’ first shared stage appearance in almost 16 years – sparking a frenzy of excitement and nostalgic euphoria amongst supporters.

Rock legend Liam Gallagher was met with jeers during the epic Oasis reunion concert at Heaton Park in Manchester, but it wasn’t his music that ruffled feathers. The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, received a rapturous reception as they entered hand in hand on Friday night at the massive outdoor venue.

However, the gig took an unexpected turn when Liam paused to make a heartfelt dedication. Liam announced: “I’d like to dedicate this to the greatest manager of all time, Mr Pep Guardiola.”

The shoutout to the Manchester City manager caused some unrest among the fans, leading to boos. Unfazed, Liam fired back: “Who you f***ing booing, who you f***ing booing.”

The camera then focused on a life-size cut-out of Pep Guardiola adorned with a Man City scarf, which was displayed on stage. The crowd’s mood lightened, breaking into laughter, and Liam kicked off a powerful rendition of ‘D’You Know What I Mean’.

Adding to the excitement, Pep Guardiola himself was seen backstage, mingling with the Gallaghers, including Noel’s daughter and Liam’s sons.

Noel paid homage to Manchester’s own comedic geniuses, Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash of The Royle Family fame, dedicating: “This one’s for Caroline and Craig” before strumming out an acoustic version of the sitcom’s theme song, Half the World Away.

Before the main act took to the stage, Cast surprised fans with a special guest during their opening set, while Richard Ashcroft gave a nod to a Mancunian music icon in his performance.

Locals without tickets have been finding creative ways to join in the fun, with some residents enjoying the concert’s atmosphere from the comfort of their gardens.

The thousands of Oasis fans at Heaton Park have come under criticism from those tuning into live streams at home. One fan fumed: “The crowd is mental, mental for not enjoying the show.”

Another added: “This crowd wasted their money on the tickets.” Someone else commented: “Cardiff crowd definitely was better. well seemed it.” A fourth wrote: “thought the crowd would be mental here.”

“More people stood around talking no appreciating what a great song probably all waiting for Wonderwall,” shared another. A fan fumed: “Wtf shouldn’t be able to hear people’s convos at an oasis homecoming gig.” Someone else hit out: “Fake fans,” and another spat: “Noasis would have better atmosphere.”

While Liam may have also hinted at tension in the band as he made a jibe at brother Noel. As he launched into Rock N Roll star, Liam quipped: “Listen up beautiful people this is going to be our last song.

‘I was at Oasis’ gig in Manchester – I saw something I thought was impossible’

Some might say it was the best gig in Manchester’s history. Oasis returned to Manchester for the first time in 16 years, and I was there. Nobody ever expected once warring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher to join forces again – after all, they have consistently and publicly flung insults at one another since Noel dramatically quit the band in 2009.

But walking out at Heaton Park, you could never have imagined that there was once a feud between the two siblings. Putting on a united front, the two legends walked out to their 2000 track, F***in’ In The Bushes, to a crowd of 80,000 people, with the atmosphere instantly becoming electric.

With what I hope was beer and cider being flung around – but let’s face it, it was probably urine – everybody was there for one reason. Opening their performance with quite rightly, Hello, the euphoric first notes instantly filled me with emotion. I was never fortunate enough to see Oasis live before their split, and I blame my family for that.

After opening with Hello, they went on to perform Acquiesce, which was the B-side to their first official UK Number One, Some Might Say. Liam, known for his cheeky persona, said: “I tell you what, you look ****ng stunning? You should be proud of yourselves, 10/10.”

Before bursting into the 1994 anthem, Cigarettes and Alcohol. The younger brother left the stage for a short while, as his older (or as Liam says, little) brother, belted out Half The World Away.

I attended with my best mate, and let’s just say – the vibes were everything we could have expected and more. Now, being a journalist, there are perks to my job. And after spending 16 hours in those horrific online queues, tonight has been the best perk in over ten years. A night I never imagined would happen has, finally, happened – and it was clear from the electric crowds I wasn’t the only one who felt privileged to be there on this momentous music occasion.

A few simple words on social media on August 27 in 2024 were enough to spark pandemonium among Oasis fans and were the catalyst for the most eagerly awaited UK gigs of all time.

Noel and Liam have only been pictured together four times since they announced their reunion in August last year but thousands of fans poured into their hometown, where temperatures were reaching the early thirties, before heading to Heaton Park for the sold-out show, with many enjoying the warmer climates in the various pubs across the Northern Quarter.

Last year, just hours after Liam’s headline slot at Reading Festival, the band announced the Oasis Live ’25 tour, with dates across the UK and Ireland, and later dates across the globe.

Reflecting on the tour, Noel said in the official tour programme: “People will never forget the way you made them feel.” He went on to reference the hundreds of thousands of people who spent hours in virtual queues on Ticketmaster and See Tickets, with many being young fans who grew up listening to Oasis because of their parents and relatives.

He commented: “A new generation recognises how Oasis wasn’t manufactured. It was chaotic, flawed, and not technically brilliant. We were rough and ready guys from a rehearsal room, and people recognised it.”

Noel and Liam walking out hand in hand is something I never thought would happen. But 16 years later, it did. They didn’t interact on stage but just seeing them alongside one another is the best thing I could have ever asked for.

Apologies to anybody involved with the future of my life, but nothing will top tonight. I think it might’ve given me the worst migraine but in the grand scheme of things, it was so worth it.

viagogo and resale tickets

Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Pep Guardiola parties backstage with the Gallagher family at Oasis’ Heaton Park gig

Fans have gathered in their thousands in Manchester for one of the most anticipated reunion gigs ever as Oasis take to the stage at Heaton Park in their home town

Spanish football manager Pep Guardiola has proved he’s a huge Oasis fan as he’s been spotted backstage at Liam and Noel Gallagher’s comeback gig at Heaton Park in Manchester. Pep, 54, was pictured with the singing duo’s kids, Noel’s children Donovan, Sonny and Anais and Liam’s sons Gene and Lennon.

The footballing legend wore a retro Man City shirt with a pair of denim shorts, as he was seen sporting a backstage pass around his neck and a drink in hand. Gene took to Instagram to proudly share the picture as the 24-year-old captioned it: “Pic of the century alright now everyone else can f*** off.”

Noel, 56, grew a close connection to the manager when he arrived in Manchester nine years ago and have shared a close bond ever since. The singer has supported Man City since he was a child and regularly attends games at the Etihad stadium.

This is the first time that Noel and Liam, 52, are performing in their native Manchester since 2009.

The Britpop legends reunited for their first show in 16 years last week in Cardiff and have a further three sold-out dates in London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

The pair announced their comeback last year and at the time of the announcement, they shared a video to promote the comeback when Liam was heard saying: “When we both come together, you have greatness.”

Noel also expressed: “I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening.”

The brothers notoriously shared huge bust ups throughout their time together in the band from 1991 to 2009 and even continued to bad-mouth one another after Noel quit.

The first notable cracks in the relationship between the two occurred on their first American tour in 1994, where Liam regularly changed the lyrics of Noel’s songs to annoy both his brother and the American listeners.

This led to a physical fight between the boys and a chair being thrown, causing Noel to abruptly quit the tour.

Many spats happened over the next few years, but the final straw came in 2009 when Noel publicly quit the band.

Noel and Liam went on to have hugely successful solo careers and spent years keeping their families apart from one another.

However, in 2017, things appeared to soften as Liam told BBC Radio 1: “I’ll speak to him some day. It’s all very sad, but we’ll get over it… I guess it musn’t be nice for my mum.”

“It would be lovely for my mum. I’m not arsed about the band. It would be lovely for two brothers to be talking and for my mum.

“The families have not seen each other and my kids haven’t seen his kids, I haven’t seen his kids, all that would be great. And then maybe we could get the band back together or maybe not but that would be nice.”

Oasis’ Heaton Park crowd slammed for reaction as Liam Gallagher makes jibe at Noel

Liam Gallagher has hinted things may not be running as smoothly as first thought as he made a cheeky dig at brother Noel on stage as fans at home slammed the gig’s atmosphere

Liam Gallagher took aim at brother Noel for the first time on their Oasis reunion tour as fans at home have hit out at the crowd. The Gallagher brothers have returned to their beloved Manchester for a series of sold-out shows at Heaton Park.

80,000 fans have flocked to the venue to watch Oasis reunite for the first time in decades. They made their epic comeback in Cardiff last weekend, marking the start of their huge world tour.

However, it seems tension may already be brewing between the siblings despite putting their feud behind them. As he launched into Rock N Roll star, Liam quipped: “Listen up beautiful people this is going to be our last song.

“Thanks for sticking with us. I know we are difficult, but you wanna try being in the band.” Despite the subtle dig, many fans at home were more worried about the crowd.

It seems Liam and Noel are doing everything they can to make sure they get through their world tour as smoothly as possible. They have been spotted leaving Cardiff’s stadium separately and are reportedly staying in different hotels.

However, the same can’t be said for their children who have been at the shows. Liam and Noel’s kids have proved their dads differences won’t carry on into the next generation as they have been enjoying the huge gigs together.

Tickets were seriously hard to come by, with some fans forking out hundreds to secure their spot. Those without tickets have gathered outside Heaton Park to try hear the huge hits from the band.

However, it seemed other wanted to try their luck at getting in without and ticket but were quickly warned by police. Manchester Evening News reporter Chris Slater said: “I’ve been told a dispersal order is in place and officers are taking details and ordering anyone suspected of trying to sneak in to leave the area. If don’t they can then be arrested.”

Warnings have also been issued by show bosses for this weekend as 80,000 plus music fans descend on Liam and Noel Gallagher’s hometown for each sold-out performance. The forecast has bucked the usual unpredictable weather during outdoor events, with hot weather sweeping the UK.

Bosses have relaxed their usual rules at Heaton Park and have encouraged fans to take water, suncream and hats into the venue. Although taking food and drink into the venue is strictly prohibited, those attending can, instead, take a collapsible 500ml water bottle.

Singer Sean Kingston has had his sentencing postponed after being found guilty of wire fraud earlier this year, along with his mother Janice Turner. The musician was supposed to find out his verdict today (July 11) but he’ll now have to wait a little longer.

Sean did not have a lawyer present and requested more time in order to find an attorney. The judge granted him his request and has scheduled a new court date for August 28, according to NCB 6 South Florida. The publication also stated that Sean thanked the judge and also spoke out on behalf of his mother, in order to give her more time to find a legal representative.

Janice Turner’s sentencing is currently scheduled for July 31. The case involved the pair falsely claiming to pay for luxury items, including cars, jewellery, and other high-value goods, by pretending to make bank transfers that were never processed.

They managed to fraudulently acquire over $1 million worth of goods and money. The pair’s trial took place from March 24 to March 28 in Broward County, Florida, and concluded with the jury deliberating for approximately three and a half hours before reaching their verdict, according to reports.

They convicted them of conspiracy and multiple counts of wire fraud. The charges involved defrauding a car dealership out of $160,000 (£123,000) for a Cadillac Escalade, stealing nearly $500,000 (£386,000) worth of jewellery, and obtaining other goods like a custom bed valued at $86,000 (£66,000) without paying for them.

Since the trial, the 35-year-old has been under house arrest with an electronic tag and had to pay a bond to be released from jail, while his mother Janice has remained in federal custody.

This isn’t the first time Sean or Janice have faced trouble with the law after she had previously been convicted of bank fraud back in 2006 and served almost 18 months in prison.

Kingston was already on probation for a previous crime when he was arrested in this case.

Sean rose to fame due to his 2007 debut single Beautiful Girls, which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the time.

He then went on to release a number of singles including Fire Burning, Eenie Meenie and Letting Go (Dutty Love), and has collaborated with artists including Justin Bieber, Soulja Boy and Sean Paul.
