Troubled pop icon Britney Spears was married to Iranian-American actor Sam Asghari for 14-months, with the couple splitting in July 2023, seven years after the start of their relationship

Sam Asghari has been enjoying a loved-up holiday with his girlfriend Brooke Irvine – who fans have pointed out bears a resemblance to his superstar ex-wife Britney Spears.

The 31-year-old actor/DJ/estate agent was in a seven year relationship with the Oops I Did It Again singer, 42, with the pair marrying in 2022, shortly after she was released from the controversial conservatorship she was placed under in February 2018. During their total seven years together, Sam had a front row seat to the struggles faced by Britney at the hands of her father and the lawyers who were legally responsible for her day to day decisions and choices.

In a recent swipe at the singer, Sam said of his new relationship: “It’s all about love. That’s what it is.”

He added to US Weekly: “It’s not about the industry, it’s not about Hollywood.

“It’s about what really is the most important thing, and that’s being present, being in the moment and supporting others that are doing this same thing.”

Meanwhile, he recently told Page Six that he found the set-up during the conservative era valuable – particularly when he was invited to be a contestant on the US version of The Traitors.

He said: “I’ve learned a lot in the past five or six years being exposed to that (darker) side of Hollywood. And it’s quite a blessing.

“It was a quick crash course in Hollywood and it sort of helped me. I figured it would be a good tool to actually help me in the Traitors game as well.

“You have to be careful in every industry. Not just in Hollywood. You have to always be careful and protect yourself and protect the people that you love.”

Sam and former cheerleader Brooke went public on January 1, and are frequently photographed running errands or hanging out in Hollywood. At the moment, the pair are holidaying in Mexico – where Britney is also enjoying a sun soaked break.

A source close to Britney told the Daily Mail that she is happy for the new couple, but hopes Sam has given up one particularly annoying habit.

“While she is so happy that he has found a beautiful blonde woman who is more his age, her only hope is that he treats her with the love and respect that she deserves and spends quality time with her rather than playing video games all day long.

Right now mum-of-two Britney is busy enjoying a sunny holiday in Mexico, where she worried fans shortly after arriving after she was spotted walking through the airport with a bodyguard who carried a plastic doll wrapped in a blanket.

There was no sign of the doll in her latest social media posts. In one she dances to We No Speak Americano by Yolanda Be Cool in the doorway of a cabin, the sea (and a bodyguard) behind her.

Wearing a tiny green and yellow bikini, she accessorised with a brown fedora, a crocheted white flower choker, and some mirrored aviator shades.

Other than her bodyguards, Britney has gone on holiday alone. She was immediately whisked to the five-star, £50,000 a week, Las Ventanas al Paraiso Resort, a spectacular beachside oasis overlooking the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez. There, the mum of two posted videos of herself sunnying herself in a green bikini.

The doll – or “baby” – was not in obvious sight but, since the witness spoke to the Mail Online, fans and those who know Britney have expressed their concern about the star. One former associate told the publication: “Britney looks lost. She’s on holiday with her two bodyguards and a plastic life-sized baby doll. Doesn’t she have any real friends? It’s sad. It is troubling to see her this way. You wonder if she is taking her meds and if everything is all right?”

Ahead of part two of her Amazon Prime show Molly-Mae: Behind It All airing on 9 May, Molly-Mae Hague has been soaking up the sun on a short trip to one of her favourite places, Dubai – and it seems she’s found a new favourite colour.

The 25 year old posted several snaps to her Instagram account sporting a pretty baby blue outfit, including trousers from her own brand Maebe, a pricey Louis Vuitton bag and even a matching light blue Stanley cup. How are you feeling now your Celebrity Big Brother experience is over?

Relaxed . revitalized Overall, it was pretty overwhelming. I spent a few nights at my mother’s when I left. I just unwinded and returned to being a child. She waited with me while I was standing!

What do you think of the show’s response?

95% excellent and 5% not so great, in my opinion. The end of the stick might have been lost on the other hand. However, the majority of them have been good. I’m pleased and proud of what I did.

Some viewers assumed you had a crush on Chris and JoJo.

Not one bit! God knows where they got that one from. That was a big surprise to me. I wasn’t attracted to Chris in any way, shape or form. I didn’t really understand what I’d be jealous of. That confused me a hell of a lot.

What’s your take on Chris and JoJo?

They still remain close friends, in my opinion. Hopefully when she returns to LA, they’ll see each other again. They could rely on one another for support, which is nice that they had forged a close friendship. It’s 100% platonic.

What aspect of your time in the house do you find most impressive?

I had no fear expressing my feelings. Many people don’t like to do that in public, but it shows that, in spite of my best efforts, I haven’t altered who I am because of my platform. And I’ve made some incredible friends.

You did occasionally get emotional, particularly when you discussed ending your relationship with Dan Edgar.

I believe that I left after a very recent breakup. Hearing people say I split with Dan just to go in there with a big game plan is hurtful. That has never occurred. Behind closed doors, things hadn’t worked out for a few weeks. It was a decision of everyone’s. We are still friendly, not in disagreement.

What, in your opinion, caused the conflict between you?

Sometimes you’re just not right for each other, and that’s OK. A lot of my upset in the house came from what I’d gone through before going in, and having no connection to the outside world – not knowing how he was feeling, or him knowing how I was feeling.

What did you discover there about relationships?

Before I start fresh ones, I considered how I need to heal from my previous ones. Perhaps I haven’t given 100% to myself yet, so why haven’t I? Without a man, I want to chart my own path. Why don’t I do that when I can do it? Since I was 18 years old, I’ve done a lot in the show business. I’m 24 now. I ought to be leading a life. How can I expect anyone else to do the same if I don’t put myself first?

Has your CBB background changed you?

It was like therapy for me. And it made me realise I need actual therapy, too. It’s hard, especially at my age – people might feel embarrassed to admit they need help. But I’m glad I’ve noticed that before it might be too late to change. Just because we put ourselves in front of the world doesn’t mean we know the world inside out. I was only trying to navigate my way through that house. Maybe I was upset and moaning – but that’s what it does to you! Remember, people only see 45 minutes of a full 24 hours. The public forget that. It’s frustrating.

Do you have a favorite memory that we overlooked?

Danny [Beard] and Donna [Preston] made some incredible belly laughs. We would meet in the garden every night, reflect on the day, and absolutely howl. That wasn’t something I believe you saw, which is unfortunate. Although it probably wasn’t a good deal of TV, we had a great time.

Let’s discuss TOWIE. The season finale has just begun to air. What are your thoughts on it?

It was heartfelt to watch Dan’s memories. Although I had many feelings and feelings for him, you can’t stay in it. We saw that early, which is a blessing. I’m anticipating reuniting with people and filming the new series. Setting the record straight is now necessary.

What would you like to do in the upcoming season?

I’m hoping there are some things that need to be said. Although everyone had many opinions, the truth was only heard in one way. That is unfair.

What would you do if you weren’t working in the show business?

I have all the necessary training. Since I was 16 years old, I’ve been qualified. I’ll be in a trade for the rest of my life.

What do you anticipate for the upcoming chapter?

I’m not interested in helping anyone else; I want to do it for myself. I want to be proud of myself and let people know how important it was to me to be emotionally sensitive on television. An anti-bullying charity would be a great way for me to work for.
