Kyle Walker breaks silence on Man City exit in emotional message to fans and wife Annie

In a heartfelt message to fans and his wife Annie, Kyle Walker has broken his silence regarding his departure from Man City.

The defender, who is joining AC Milan on a £4.2million loan, also paid tribute to manager Pep Guardiola and his teammates.

He said: “Manchester City… where do I start? 2017 was a dream come true to join this incredible club. I could only dream about winning 17 trophies, including the Champions League and the infamous treble, in 1977.

I’m truly appreciative of the opportunity I’ve had at the Etihad because playing alongside so many top players has pushed me to be my best selves.

“A huge thank you goes to all the backroom staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes, the coaching staff, the kit men, and the coaching staff. You give us the opportunity to perform at our absolute best and make every day enjoyable.

” To my teammates, from the moment I walked through the door I felt at home. I appreciate the positive experiences we’ve had together, both in terms of memory and success. You are friends, but also family for life.

Thank you to my family, my children, and all of my supporters who have helped me along this journey.

“Most importantly, to the fans—thank you for embracing me as one of your own from day one. Your unwavering support, week in, week out, home and away, will never be forgotten. I wish you all the best of luck going forward. Thank you, Kyle”.

Aaron Dingle on Emmerdale’s massive new storyline and why he nearly quit acting

Fans of Emmerdale will have been on the edge of their seats ever since last night when Aaron and Anthony Fox engaged in sexual abuse, only to later realize he had killed him.

The real battle was occurring behind the scenes, as it marked actor Danny Miller’s biggest and heaviest storylines since his return to the soap two years after his crippling panic and anxiety attacks forced him to decide to quit.

He feared he would pass out because the three-time Soap Award winner had such trouble filming such ominous scenes. But now Danny, 34, admits he’s found a perfect tonic to protect himself and his mental health: His new wife and children.

In an exclusive interview, Danny explains: “This dark storyline has been very hard to film. However, as a result of my younger years, I’m much more adept at leaving work at the studio door. I was affected by it at the time. But when you get home, you notice the children’s faces as they open the door and leave you with a hug.

Danny left Emmerdale after playing Aaron off-loan since 2008, leaving him in a dark place, and that has changed a lot since then. Six years prior, he was given the diagnosis of anxiety and depression by the doctors for what he believed to be a thyroid condition, but he acknowledged that the lockdown had been particularly difficult.

Aaron Dingle and Anthony Milligan
Aaron Dingle and Anthony Fox were seen on ITV, but Aaron Dingle later realized he had killed him.

“I’m not gonna sit here and lie and say, ‘ I wanted to kill myself, ‘ but I certainly thought it would be easier if I wasn’t here”, he admitted on Ryan and Adam Thomas’s Mancs on the Mic podcast at the time. Adding about his difficulties on Emmerdale, he added: “They go, ‘ Stand by’, and my brain’s going, ‘ You’re gonna f*** this up, you’re gonna f*** this up’. I’m sweating and I go, ‘ Sorry, you’ll have to cut there’. I had it loads when I’ve got a big scene and I’ve gone, ‘ Oh my God, I’m gonna pass out'”.

In October 2023, Danny made the decision to move back to Emmerdale. He’d had some emotive scenes during Chas Dingle’s cancer plot. However, Danny’s role in some significant scenes has been the real test with the new child abuse storyline. To sum up, Anthony is alleged to have abused Ruby while Danny’s Aaron, who has been abused by his own father, feels compelled to help bring him to justice. Until, that is, Anthony’s found in a pool of blood and Aaron fears he’s taken things too far.

This time round, Danny’s feeling far more able to cope with the emotional impact of the storylines – thanks to wife Steph, who he married in 2022, and their children Albert, three, and Edith, one. “Without Steph, I wouldn’t be here in Emmerdale”, he tells us now. Stephanie is very good at checking in and checking me out, which is very helpful. At home, Steph is completely in charge, I am certain. She is amazing because she was born a mother.

Danny Miller says Steph Jones and Albert, his new baby, help him cope (Daily Mirror/Andy Stenning).

Steph Jones and Danny first met in primary school, but they only started dating in 2019. Steph had booked a trip to St Lucia for his 30th birthday celebrations, so Danny proposed at a candlelit beach dinner in January 2021. They learned that they were expecting their first child together a month later. They both had previously battled mental health issues, and Danny claimed to have “saved each other,” as he stated in his speech when they wed in Cheshire in 2022.

Now, he says, there are no downside about returning to the soap. “I’ve definitely got no regrets. Steph and I made the best choice, he claims. Emmerdale gave me this opportunity, I really appreciate it. Many of my friends are currently experiencing difficulties. I love playing Aaron again”.

Even though we are aware of the possibility that Aaron’s confession to Ruby would have killed her father, there will still be others who could have done so. Danny is keeping a tight-lipped about what will happen next in the abuse storyline because it is something “people will watch and be affected by” he admits to feeling a huge responsibility to get it right. His character came out as gay in 2010 and it has benefited thousands of viewers because he knows what he’s talking about.

“I still hear people talking about Aaron coming out when I walk up to them.” Even though it has been a while, he says, “I’m still really proud of it because we played against stereotypes and it helped to change perceptions.” “I can remember when Gavin, who was a dear friend and our producer, gave me the opportunity. He said it would alter the course of my life. Although he tragically passed away many years ago, I can still recall my gratitude for his story and the assurance that I have never looked back.

What we love is the fact that you play this hard man who also happens to be in love with a man, say so many people frequently. Although it came with a lot of risk, I’ll always be grateful. “The Dingles are Danny’s ‘ second family ‘ and even have their own WhatsApp group. He was devastated when Steve Halliwell, the actor who played Zak Dingle, passed away in December 2023.

” It’s lovely to be part of the Dingles, “adds Danny”. Steve Halliwell, God rest his soul, was the one who made the Dingles who they are today. They are all very loyal. We have a private WhatsApp group message that evokes a true family atmosphere.

Danny says he is devoted to spending every second with Steph and his two children when he is away from the soap. Weekends, he says, are devoted to non-stop family activities”. We are always out exploring, “adds Danny”. At the weekend, we pack a lot in with family stuff! “

Danny dedicates his time to his family, but he occasionally participates in other TV shows. He won the I’m a Celebrity award in the first ever Welsh edition of the pandemic in 2021, of course, and he acknowledged that being crowned “King of the Castle” will always have a “special place” in his heart. I went in with no game plan, “he recalls”. I was so fortunate to be chosen by the voters. It’s the only time I haven’t watched the series! “

He didn’t have quite so much success, however, earlier this month when he took part on Mastermind, coming last with just ten points. His glum facial expression became a meme on X, which was formerly Twitter, where Danny was criticized for “sulking” and being a “bad loser.” Danny acknowledged today that his wife had questioned why he looked so miserable.

” Steph said to me: ‘ why did you look like that? It looks bad’, “he says”. I was embarrassed and genuinely ashamed that I hadn’t received more points. I can’t hide my feelings! I didn’t want to let myself down and make a fool of myself. But there were smarter, wiser celebrities against me. “

So would he like a rerun on Mastermind? Definitely not, comes the swift reply”. No, I will never go back on that show! It’s hard, “he confesses”. Although I enjoy doing quizzes, I’m considering doing something a little more laid-back, like The Chase.

Danny has no intention of leaving Emmerdale in the future. But he doesn’t take anything for granted with the recent high profile departures. You only sign a year’s contract at a time. There could be a day where they say: ‘ there won’t be another year’s contract after this’, which would be a horrendous meeting to have, ‘ he admits. “But I will always respect that this could be a possibility. Without knowing when it might or might not end, it makes you enjoy the job even more. I never take anything for granted”.

Emmerdale runs weekdays on ITV1 and STV at 7.30pm. On ITVX, episodes can also be downloaded.

Coleen Nolan shares sister Linda’s final words to her before tragic death

Beloved TV personality and pop star Linda Nolan died last Wednesday, aged 65, after a five-year fight with secondary breast cancer.

Just days after writing her final moving piece for this newspaper, The Daily Mirror Columnist passed away with her famous sisters by her side.

Her sisters – Anne, 74, Denise, 72, Maureen, 69, and Coleen, 59 – were called to her bedside at 3.30am last Tuesday as doctors made the decision to place her in end-of-life care. The siblings, who lost their sister Bernie in 2013, kept a vigil by her bedside in her final hours.

Doting sister Coleen shared the sweet final moments they shared with Linda and how these final moments offer some comfort to the family since her tragic passing.

Coleen tells The Mirror: “It’s been 10 days since my lovely sister Linda died and it’s still hard to believe she’s gone. As we prepare for her funeral, when she will be buried with her husband Brian’s ashes, I’m holding on to the memory of the last day I spent with her in hospital, which was full of love and laughter.

We sat down with her and exchanged words for each other. We told her we loved her and she expressed our love to us. She didn’t shed any tears, even though she knew it would be her last visit.

Despite her deteriorating health condition since Christmas, Linda was in good spirits, adds Coleen.

She was eating the chocolate her parents had given her, being her usual funny self, and having double pneumonia while also being on oxygen. She requested information about my new grandson, so I showed her a lot of his pictures.

Linda’s hospital bed was surrounded by her nearest and dearest:” So many people came to see her, including her best friend of 60 years, Suzanne, and her stepdaughter Sarah, and the whole family were at her bedside. The nurses kept telling her to rest, but Linda, being Linda, would not stop talking! “

Her last words to Coleen will be ones she remembers fondly:” When I left that evening, I told her I’d come and visit the next day and she said, “Oh, you don’t have to” and I said, “I know, but I will” and then she said, ‘ Col, I really love you’. “

However, Coleen eventually had to make the lengthy drive home because she was aware that this might be her last encounter with her sister.

I gave Linda a big hug and a kiss as I knew it would be the last time because my sisters had told me to go because I had a two-hour drive home. I didn’t feel sad that I wasn’t there when Linda took her last breath because we had to spend that precious day together, and Maureen called the next morning to tell me that she had died.

Linda even shared her wishes before passing away, and the family is now organizing the funeral.

” She wanted everyone in black, wearing mantillas, “says Coleen”, those little lace veils that cover your face. I remember saying, ‘ You are joking, Linda! If I see all my sisters in mantillas, I’m going to laugh the whole way through the funeral! ‘

“We’ve decided not to do that, but we are wearing black. Her coffin is pure showbiz – bright pink and sparkly, just as she wanted. It feels appropriate that my sister has a glittery pink coffin because the one thing she loved was bling: her handbags, her tops, her walking stick, and even her trainers.

Although she knew it wasn’t likely, Coleen explains she had hopes that Linda might pull through one last time, saying: “Even though I knew she was gravely ill, I really thought she might pull through, as she always has…. We were rerouted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital the early in the morning.

She was unconscious when I arrived at 5:30 a.m., and we were told nothing more. My brothers and sisters were all there – Tommy, Brian, Denise, Anne and Maureen. The hospital staff were escorted in with trays of tea and biscuits, and there were about 14 of us at her bedside, with the curtains rolled around us. They were incredible.

“Linda had signed a DNR, and they turned off the monitors, started lowering her oxygen, and prescribed her morphine to prevent pain.” At 2pm, they said she’d probably go quickly, so there was devastation and sobbing, but we were still there at 9.30pm, she seemed determined to hang on”.

Linda lost her husband Brian a few months after being first diagnosed with breast cancer 20 years ago. He was the love of her life and they hadn’t spent a night apart for 29 years, says Coleen. “Then, two months later my mum died, all while Linda was having treatment. I don’t think many people could survive that, but she did”.

Despite her health issues, Linda continued to be brave. “When her cancer returned in 2020, it was never a case of” I’ve had enough”. She continued even after being informed that the cancer, which had spread to her hip and brain, was treatable but not curable.

” But the last time she saw her doctor and was told the chemo wasn’t working, her reaction was different. She was angry. She was concerned about going outside because her legs were hurting and she was starting to fall frequently. I’m heartbroken. She had planned to visit my house for the New Year, but she was too ill and exhausted to travel.

Her passing has left her and Bernie’s in 2013 as vivid memories. Our memories of the destruction our sister Bernie experienced when she lost her battle with breast cancer in 2013 have been relived by Linda’s passing.

The siblings have set up a charity page to make donations to Trinity Hospice, a fantastic local organization that provided care for Bernie and Linda. To pay your respects, visit their website.

Coleen Nolan shares poignant plans for sister Linda’s final resting place

Linda Nolan, who was born in Dublin, tragically passed away last week, January 15, in a hospital close to her home in Blackpool, with double pneumonia.

Linda was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, and she received a full recovery in 2011. Sadly, her cancer reappears in 2020 and affects both her hip and brain.

She passed away last Wednesday surrounded by her loved ones, including her sisters, with whom she had a close knit friendship, after her condition deteriorated over the Christmas holiday. The Nolans lost their sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2013, making this their second sibling death.

Sister Coleen tells The Mirror that Linda was almost always in good spirits, ate the chocolates she had brought, and spoke with her friends and family.

She was “being her usual funny self,” Coleen says, “even though she had double pneumonia and was on oxygen.”

Before she passed, Linda did also discussed what she wanted for her funeral. Coleen adds: “She wanted everyone in black, wearing mantillas, those little lace veils that cover your face. I remember saying”, You are joking, Linda! If I see all my sisters in mantillas, I’m going to laugh the whole way through the funeral! We’ve decided not to do that, but we are wearing black. “

She lost her husband Brian a few months after receiving the first diagnosis 20 years ago. Coleen explains:” He was the love of her life and they hadn’t spent a night apart for 29 years. Then, two months later my mum died, all while Linda was having treatment. I don’t think many people could survive that, but she did.

She resided in my own home in Blackpool, which is located directly opposite where my sisters live for many years. It’s packed with her belongings – every costume and every bit of memorabilia from over the years, as well as Brian’s ashes”.

The Mirror agony aunt also provided a sweet description of Brian’s place of final rest for her sister Linda, which will be next to her.

“My first thought after she died was to put Brian’s ashes with Linda’s”, says Coleen, so that’s what we’re doing. In life they were never apart, so I’m glad they’ll be together again. “

And she shared details of Linda’s send off:” Her coffin is pure showbiz – bright pink and sparkly, just as she wanted, “Coleen adds”. The one thing my sister loved was bling – her trainers had bling on them, her handbags, her tops, her walking stick – so it feels right that she has a glittery pink coffin. “

The Nolan Sisters have entertained fans all over the world for the past 50 years and rose to fame as one of the first female bands in the 1970s.

Coleen adds:” For the rest of my life, I’ll be toasting Linda with a Malibu and Coke, which was one of her favourite tipples. She used to call it Mabilu and Coke and I can still hear her shouting, “Coleen! Get the Mabilu out”!
