Paul Danan’s celebrity friends devastated as they’re forced to miss funeral

Paul Danan’s friends were left devastated after being forced to miss his funeral.

The late Hollyoaks actor died aged 46, his manager announced last week. An ambulance was called to a property in Bristol where he had been staying on Wednesday night. However, Paul was declared dead on arrival by the medics. It later emerged that the noughties star had “slipped and fell” at the property.

Announcing his death, Paul’s management team described him as a “beacon of light. ” Today, the star was laid to rest surrounded by his friends and family in Waltham Abbey, Essex. However, some of Paul’s friends were unable to attend the mass due to a heavy build up of traffic in the area.

Telly presenter, Lizzie Cundy, was one of the mourners who expressed her heartbreak after being delayed. She had appeared on The Jeremy Vine Show earlier on Tuesday before rapidly attempting to get over to the ceremony but was plagued by traffic.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Lizzie, was sounded devastated said: “I got changed just after The Jeremy Vine Show, Paul was such a dear friend and I wanted to be there to pay my respects because he was such a lovely guy with the biggest heart as we all know.

“The traffic getting to Waltham Abbey is just utterly horrific and gridlocked, so many of us are going to miss paying our respects to such a loving man. It’s so upsetting. Paul always had the biggest smile when we were around him and he never failed to bring such joy to everybody. His loss will be felt by everybody.

Confirming his sad death, Paul’s team said: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.

“During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time. ” Avon and Somerset Police made a further statement: “Officers attended a property in Brislington, Bristol, at around 5. 20pm yesterday (Wednesday 15 January) where sadly a man in his 40s was declared deceased by paramedics.

“His family have been notified and our thoughts are with them. They have asked for people to respect their privacy during this incredibly difficult time. His death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are preparing a file for the coroner. ” Since Paul’s death, a fundraiser has been set up to “make his son’s journey a little bit easier”. The JustGiving page has already raised more than £6,000 towards its £10,000 target, with over 200 supporters having donated so far.

They described their “unique” friend as the most “extra” person, adding that his family have been left “devastated”, and say they hope to raise £10,000. The tribute on the page reads: “There was NO ONE like Pauly. His excitement and vitality for life were magnetic. He was warm, kind, funny – actually hilarious, vulnerable, self-deprecating and captivating.

“Being his friend was a visceral experience, and I defy anyone to close their eyes and picture Pauly with anything but that huge, cheeky, dimpled smile. NEVER one to conform or do anything in an expected or generic way, Paul really was the most ‘Extra’ and unique person you could ever meet. “

Touching on Paul’s well-documented issues with addiction, they continued: “It’s no secret that he struggled and lost his way at times, but in his true essence, the REAL Pauly, would do anything for anyone no matter what. Whether you knew him from school, Hollyoaks, Love Island, CBB, his rehab journey, or you were just lucky enough to cross paths, he’s sure to have left a gaping Pauly-shaped hole in your heart right now. But he has also left behind a 9 year-old son – DeNiro, and a devastated family. “

The description signed off: “This page has been set up in Paul’s memory, to make his son’s journey a little bit easier. Please give what you can xxx. “

The Beatles’ George Harrison ‘didn’t want to’ play on legendary final performance

The Beatles’ George Harrison had no desire to participate in the band’s final performance in 1969.

Just before the Fab Four ascended to the rooftop of Abbey Road studio for their last show together, Harrison expressed reservations over performing at all.

The Beatles’ often overlooked songwriter behind hits like ‘Here Comes the Sun’, ‘Something’, and ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’, shared his lack of desire to perform with his bandmates.

His reluctance was captured in Peter Jackson’s ‘Get Back’ documentary. Despite his initial hesitation, the legendary musician, who later formed The Traveling Wilbury’s with Bob Dylan and Electric Light Orchestra’s Jeff Lynne, was persuaded to join in.

This uncertainty came shortly after Harrison had temporarily left the band. A notorious diary entry from the ‘All Things Must Pass’ genius revealed he had quit the Fab Four due to growing tensions in the studio and frustrations surrounding the creation of ‘Abbey Road’ and ‘Let it Be’.

Harrison even suggested they advertise in the New Musical Express for additional guitarists to complete what he had written for the 1969 album. However, he soon returned and eventually agreed to the rooftop performance.

In a clip from ‘Get Back’, an unconvinced Harrison can be seen agreeing to “do it”, but making it clear he did not want to be on the roof.

He stated: “You know, whatever, I’ll do it if we’ve got to go on the roof. But you know, I mean – but I don’t wanna go on the roof. Of course I don’t wanna go on the roof. “

His perspective shifted when his long-time friend and bandmate Ringo Starr expressed his desire to perform a surprise rooftop gig, which eventually took place on January 30, 1969. This marked The Beatles’ last performance together, despite being offered several lucrative deals to reunite until John Lennon’s death in 1980.

Ringo Starr revealed that they were offered $50million in 1976 – equivalent to £200million today – for a one-off reunion performance. Despite the tempting offer, The Fab Four declined due to a disagreement with the show’s organiser over a peculiar opening act.

Starr and the other surviving member, Paul McCartney, briefly reunited at a concert in London late last year. However, a full Beatles reunion never materialised after their split in 1970.

Although each member of The Beatles believed they would reform and perform live again, their reunion was thwarted by an unusual proposed opening act – a “man biting a shark”.

Thrill-seeker Wally Gibbins wanted the band to play on live TV after he fought a 14ft Great White shark “to the death” in a broadcast from Western Samoa – but the proposal did not exactly appeal to the group.

Body language expert reveals subtle sign Molly-Mae Hague’s ‘confident’ she can repair Tommy Fury relationship

Love Island icon Molly-Mae Hague recently released the first three parts of her raw documentary series on Amazon Prime Video, much to the delight of her loyal followers. During the programme, aptly named Molly-Mae: Behind It All, the millionaire influencer opens up about motherhood, her break-up with Tommy Fury, and the launch of her clothing business, Maebe.

The 25-year-old came across as stoic while being interviewed by producers about raising her two-year-old daughter, Bambi, following the breakdown of her relationship with the youngster’s father, Tommy, 25. The couple, who fell for each other on the 2019 series of Love Island, announced their split last August – and it sent shockwaves through the showbiz world.

Within the documentary, Molly-Mae gets tearful when she watches a video of boxer Tommy proposing to her in Ibiza, but she appears very composed in most other scenes in which she discusses their five-year relationship. In one episode, she speaks to her mum, Debbie, about how alcohol impacted their romance, telling her she begged Tommy not to drink at her sister’s wedding.

Addressing their split, Tommy told Men’s Health during a recent interview: “The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol, and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. “

However, body language and behavioural expert Darren Stanton has shared his thoughts on how the businesswoman really feels about her split from Tommy. Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Darren explains a key gesture Molly-Mae makes when speaking about her relationship with Tommy called a ‘steeple gesture’.

He said: “It’s a type of power gesture which suggests she feels quite confident in her ability to repair the relationship. ” Does this mean the pair might be getting back together after all?

In addition, Molly-Mae’s response in the documentary to being pictured sharing a New Year’s Eve kiss with Tommy spoke volumes to Darren.

He explained: “I don’t believe that she is surprised by the news of their kiss coming out at all. She makes facial expressions to suggest she can’t believe it; she puts her hands across her face, a gesture of surprise.

“However, she also flashes a smile and shows elation and happiness at the news being out there. She does a hand-to-mouth gesture but smiles while she does it. [It’s] not the body language of someone who is truly in disbelief and shock. She tries to convey shock but is happy it is out there. “

He added: “I don’t see any signs of stress, she puts her hands across her face, but if you slow it down, it’s actually a big smile there. She’s almost giving this expression of being elated that the kiss got out. She’s not showing any signs of stress or sadness. It’s more one of genuine happiness. “

The final three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind It All will air this spring on Amazon Prime Video on a date yet to be confirmed. The first three instalments are now available to stream on the platform.

Justin Bieber marriage fears as he unfollows wife Hailey amid divorce rumours

Justin Bieber has sparked more concern for his marriage to Hailey Bieber as he unfollowed her on Instagram.

The couple had welcomed their first child last year, but have been at the centre of split speculations for months. Social media users have been claiming “it doesn’t look like things are going well” in the couple’s romance, despite them recently welcoming son Jack Blues into the world over the summer.

Now, Justin has added more fuel to the fire by unfollowing his wife. When searching for Hailey’s account under Justin’s following list, it returns with “no users found”. Hailey is still following her husband Justin.

Fans were left confused by the move as one said: “What could be the reason? Does anyone have a idea. ” Another added: “Interesting. ” Someone else commented: “She still follows him sooo hopefully it was a mistake by justin. ” A fourth wrote: “Hopefully this was a mistake cause they just had a child. “

One fan pointed out Justin had posted a sweet message about Hailey just two days ago. They said: “It’s very clear it’s a mistake as he posted a sweet message to her the other day, I know many people keep wishing on these two downfall and I think it’s so pathetic. “

Just last month, Hailey shared a post about “situations that you hate”. She simply wrote: “Me to all of you on the Internet,” alongside a video from content creator eyegotthyme. In the clip, he said: “You’re not well and it’s OK. You’ve done made a lot of choices. The choices that you made done put you in situations that you hate. “

While Justin recently re-shared a video with the text, “Coparenting is failing, like tf,” which left one user asking: “So, are they currently co-parenting? Why is he posting this? ” Hailey has seen her relationship with pop star Justin become the centre of gossip many times before. “People have made me feel so bad about my relationship since day one,” she told W Magazine last year.

“‘Oh, they’re falling apart. They hate each other. They’re getting divorced. ‘ It’s like people don’t want to believe that we’re happy. ” Hailey admitted she used to try and act like it didn’t hurt her and that she would get used to the hate over time. However, she added: “But I realize that it doesn’t actually ever hurt any less. “

Hailey and Justin tied in 2018, and welcomed their first child Jack Blues Bieber in 2024. In a sure sign that they are parenting on their own terms, Hailey has reportedly made the decision to keep her son away from her parents after their relationship deteriorated when she fell pregnant.

Hailey is used to the spotlight, as her dad is American actor, director and producer Stephen Baldwin. Her mother, Kennaya Baldwin, is a Brazilian graphic designer. Her uncle Alec Baldwin is also an American actor – earlier this year he was charged with involuntary manslaughter after a fatal shooting on set.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry divorce rumours examined from ‘control’ to ‘book deal’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been often been forced to deal with rumours surrounding their relationship.

And now a scathing article by the previously supportive Vanity Fair magazine has sparked even more speculation about their marriage. The glossy publication has published a cover article about the couple for its latest issue headlined ‘American Hustle’. It delves into Harry and Meghan’s lives five years since they decided to quit as working royals.

Cryptically, the article speculated on rumours that Meghan had been approached to write a “post-divorce” book. However, it also stated in the piece that this was not on the horizon for the Sussexes with another source saying their “love is real” and that they are “still hot for each other. “

In addition, one of Meghan’s friends shut down the claims, saying: “If that’s true to any degree, she would have been approached and not vice versa. ” The Mirror has contacted the Sussexes for comment. In recent months, Harry and Meghan have been making more and more separate public appearances as they pursue different careers paths.

Their last public appearance together came several weeks ago when Harry and Meghan visited a meal distribution centre providing relief to those affected by the devastating widlfires that had swept across Los Angeles. However, at the end of last year, Harry’s appearances mainly coincided with his charity work, while Meghan was spotted on several glamorous red carpets. It was just two years ago that Meghan famously said that she and Harry are like “salt and pepper” – they always “move together”.

Another source reportedly close to the couple said the reason for their solo appearances was down to a shift in their ventures. They told People magazine: “It’s clear that a twin-track approach is evolving. ” While another friend added: “The Duke and Duchess have now hit their stride as individuals – not just as a couple. The Duke appears focused on his patronage work, and the Duchess focused on her entrepreneurial track. “

In fact, last month when Harry appeared at the New York Times DealBook Summit, he was asked about the speculation surrounding him and his wife. Laughing it off he said: “Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what? “

Remarking that “it’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it”, Harry went on to joke that he felt sorry for the trolls commenting on the state of his marriage, as their “hopes are just built and built, and it doesn’t happen”. It came as a friend of the Sussexes explained that their separate appearances far from signals a split, saying: “[It’s] as much a reflection on parenting priorities, in that one of them stays behind with the children. “

PR expert Mark Borkowski told The Telegraph that the Sussexes’ “separation of work” has been ongoing for a while now, especially as Meghan works on her new American Riviera Orchard brand and Netflix show With Love, Meghan. And he believes the reason behind their solo appearances is because their “star power” as a couple that they believed they might have had when they dramatically quit their royal roles “didn’t work”. He explained: “They had to change the narrative. They need a venture that deflects from the failures.

“The charity aspect impresses upon everybody that he [Harry] does have value beyond the controversial stuff. It has the effect of separating them from the bad press and the failed content ideas. The punters still have time for Harry. “

The Vanity Fair piece also contains sources talking about the Sussexes’ relationship with a source saying in a way Meghan seems to be “reparenting” Harry. The source continued: “I can picture him meeting Meghan and being just a deep breath of, like, ‘I’ve been so exhausted, and you make everything so easy. ‘ I don’t want to be like, oh, it’s an Oedipus thing or whatever, but it kind of feels like she’s reparenting him in a way. “

And there are also more more troubling claims about what it’s allegedly like to work for the couple. These follow previous bullying accusations against Meghan, which she has always strenuously denied. Vanity Fair quotes insiders as claiming Meghan could be “really, really awful” when things did not go her way at work and that things often went poorly due to the couple’s ‘demands’.

According to The Times, the Sussexes have dismissed the allegations with a source close to them describing them as ‘distressing’. In the past, staff members have also spoke out in defence of the couple, describing them as caring employers.

But royal historian and expert Dr Tessa Dunlop says none of the criticism of the couple’s work endeavours since leaving the royal fold “should surprise us”. She told the Mirror: “It has only been five years since they broke free of the British monarchy, post-Sandringham summit. It was never going to be easy to leave the Royal Family, an institution with a millennia-long reputation for looking after their own.

“Harry is like a fish out of water because he was born to be royal, to exist in a privileged world where all he had to do was be polite. That is no longer enough; with no commercial track record, the prince has to keep the fires burning in 13 fireplaces in that Californian mansion. ” The piece also quotes a source saying that Harrydoesn’t really want to be famous and would rather just do charity work.

And Tessa added: “Where you well may ask, is Harry in this piece Harry is sidelined as a lonely, litigation-obsessed, immaculately mannered chap who ‘looks like the kind of guy who would, frankly, happily work for charities for the rest of his life and would be very happy if Meghan made all the money’.

“Well, he did come from a state-funded institution renowned for charitable works. You can take the prince out of the palace but retraining is a little hard after a life-long existence in a glad-handing, philanthropic gilded cage where you are forced to be famous

“It is an unedifying read, that singles out Harry as friendless, marooned through his own poor decision-making, miles from home with a controlling wife who he is not relaxed around. A media circus surrounds the Sussexes, one that they depend on, that traps them in Montecito, a place full of famous people who don’t like the fact Harry and Meghan have put their town on the map.

“By all accounts, they are branded ‘local villains’ in their own Californian neighbourhood. Although it all depends on who you talk to. Sharon Stone has since come out in support of the couple. Harry and Meghan can take solace in Oscar Wilde’s observation ‘the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about. ‘”
