Today’s horoscope for May 9 as Aries takes a breather

Today’s horoscope for May 9 will see Taurus stick with familiar routines, as Gemini tries to stay positive

Find out what’s written in the stars with our astrologer Russell Grant(Image: Daily Record/GettyImages)

It’s Friday, and one star sign has some financial tension, while another tries not to be negative.

There are 12 zodiac signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces – and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more.

These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From Aries through to Pisces, here’s what today could bring for your horoscope – and what you can do to be prepared.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

Step back from situations that seem too serious and intense. Refrain from pushing yourself too hard in an effort to please a senior colleague who never seems happy with your work. If you are struggling with a task you are having to manage on your own, take a breather and return to it when you’re in a better frame of mind.

Taurus (Apr 21 – May 21)

What you really want to do is to stick with your normal routines and anything that’s familiar. Then you can prove your reliability. You just aren’t in the mood to venture into new territory or to go with suggested changes. It will feel like your role today is to keep everything steady and calm.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

Keep your thoughts positive and you will find the motivation you need to complete an important project. You could always leave this for someone else to do but if you do this, the credit will go to them and there will be no satisfaction in seeing the job completed.

Cancer (June 22 – July 23)

If recently you have found yourself at the centre of attention, think about taking a step back and giving someone else a chance to shine. As it is, you prefer to be in the role of an observer and not to draw so much attention to yourself.

Leo (July 24 – Aug 23)

Financial disagreements or issues related to your possessions will cause tension in close relationships. You aren’t angry with someone but they think you are and you find it hard to prove they are wrong. You feel the need to wear a cheerful mask despite feeling out of sorts.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sept 23)

Someone seems to have a habit of annoying you without them even trying. Just their presence will feel aggravating when they can’t sit still for more than a few seconds. It could be they have something to say but they aren’t sure how to say it. Let them know you are listening.

Libra (Sept 24 – Oct 23)

Your world is brimming with possibilities and yet you are choosing to dwell on negatives. No matter what the reason for you to feel so down, try to pull yourself out of this mindset as there are opportunities all around you. You just have to open your eyes to see them.

Scorpio (Oct 24 – Nov 22)

It would be best to steer clear of controversial subjects. Avoid discussing religion, education and politics. You could find yourself talking to someone who is opinionated and thinks they know everything. You really don’t need this today. Keep conversations light and don’t get drawn into arguments.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 – Dec 21)

It might feel as if you are running at full speed and yet making no progress. A team effort especially will prove frustrating and restrictive. You can get through this by keep pushing forward even if it does feel as if you’re wading through treacle.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20)

When you find yourself up against a problem, instead of tackling it head-on, walk around it. You won’t be able to change other people’s views or even persuade them to try another approach but you can control your own reactions. In some cases, the best option will be simply to take a step back.

Aquarius (Jan 21 – Feb 19)

You’re just about to achieve an important goal. Keep pushing forward until you reach your target. It will be tempting to take a break from this but you are so close now, it’s worth making it your main focus. A sign will appear soon that proves you’re making the right decisions.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

Accept the changes that occur as being a normal part of your day. Someone is intent on approaching your usual routines in a different way which makes life unpredictable. Why not surprise them by going along with their suggestions. Everything will turn out fine.

Beckhams’ last happy family photo before Brooklyn and Nicola feud has emerged

A smiling family portrait once captured the Beckham clan united in festive cheer — but just months later, it all unravelled.

The last photo of the whole Beckham family together, including eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, paints a very different picture to the tensions that reportedly now exist behind closed doors.

Taken at Christmas and shared on Boxing Day last year, the snap shows David and Victoria Beckham with all four of their children — Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper — posing in front of a glowing Christmas tree, the MailOnline reported.

Nicola, beaming alongside her husband, was very much part of the family fold.

The caption, written by Victoria, read: “Being together for the holidays makes me so happy xxxx I love you all so much @davidbeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham @nicolaannepeltzbeckham #harperseven x.” Nicola warmly replied: “I love you all so much!”

But fast-forward just five months, and cracks appeared to show. Despite the glitzy celebrations for David’s milestone 50th birthday, Brooklyn and Nicola were noticeably absent — and their no-show did not go unnoticed.

According to The Mail, the couple’s failure to attend marked a turning point, with insiders claiming the feud is now “beyond repair”. A source told the outlet that Nicola is thought to be at the centre of the family fallout.

Before the tensions bubbled to the surface, the Beckhams had publicly rallied behind Brooklyn as he launched his hot sauce brand, Cloud 23.

The family jetted to Los Angeles to support the release, and just weeks later, they showed up again in London for a UK launch at Whole Foods.

As recently as September, the whole clan appeared together again in Paris during Fashion Week to support Victoria’s SS25 collection — a sign, at the time, that all was well.

Now, those smiles seem a distant memory.

While reports have surfaced that David and Victoria were unwelcoming towards Nicola, insiders close to the Beckhams have firmly denied this — insisting they’ve done nothing but support her.

One friend told The Mirror: “They have gone above and beyond to help Nicola with her endeavours.”

Another added: “There’s no anger but just a deep sense of sorrow about how things have turned out.”

“It was rather nice when I came in, but here I am again in special day care in Macclesfield hospital waiting to see an osteopath and hopefully getting a transfer to Salford Royal to the spinal unit.

“That’s the plan, but I was talking to you last time from the same cubicle and I ended up back at home at half ten at night so we shall wait and see.”

He then told followers he is “fine” before saying he “simply can’t walk properly”. “[I’m in] great pain,” he added. “I can’t stand on my tip toes now so, yeah, this is very comfortable but if I stand up I just fall over so there’s something seriously gone wrong, so i’ll keep you posted. Cheerio now!”

He captioned the upload: “Encore une fois!!!,” which translates to one more time.

Users were quick to send well wishes in the comments section. One follower wrote: “Best wishes for a speedy recovery @charlie_lawson1. Hope they get to the bottom of what’s going on this time,” with a fingers crossed emoji.

Charlie wrote back: “Me too! I just need a bloody date for The Salford Royal.”

Another user wrote:”Sending you lots of good irish luck and blessings from home!! Hopefully you will be back on your feet (literally) in no time!!” And a third added: “Look after yourself Charlie. You’ll be back walking your dog in the Countryside soon.”

Earlier in the week, Charlie told followers: “Hi folks, went to physio this morning and she sent me straight to A&E, which I did. They examined me. I have an MRI scan and I’m sitting waiting for the results.

“They’ve whisked me back in for more examinations so it’s not going awfully well at the moment. Anyway, I’ll keep you updated.

“They put a wristband on me and all sorts of craic. I’ve fallen over twice, so something going wrong down there.”

Peter Andre leaves fans divided over sweet family trip as he shares rare group snaps

Peter Andre faced more criticism as he shared a number of sweet snaps from his holiday to Abu Dhabi with his wife Emily Andre and his five children, Junior, Princess, Amelia, Theo and Arabella

Peter Andre took to social media to share an array of sweet snaps from his recent family holiday. The Mysterious Girl singer, 52, was joined by wife Emily and his five kids; Junior and Princess from his marriage to Katie Price, and Amelia, Theo and Arabella with Emily.

The star shared images of him with his youngest in the pool, and also a group image by the water, with the faces of his three children with Emily blocked by love heart emojis. He also uploaded shots of all his brood taking in the aquarium views.

He captioned the uploads: “We had the best time at @yasisland exploring all the parks. So special to have the whole family together, there truly is something for everyone. We’ll definitely be back!”

However, the location choice divided the opinion of his fans. One user responded to his post: “Looks like an amazing trip but can we all agree SeaWorld is hell for animals and not go there? Thank you please. Especially our favourite celebrities with huge followings.”

Another pleaded with Peter: “”Please don’t support SeaWorld,” while a third sobbed: “I’m so sad to see you visiting SeaWorld. The cruelty around these ‘entertainment’ parks are obvious and you could use your platform to help end the suffering endured by highly intelligent mammals. Very disappointing.”

However, others ignored the criticism, with one simply saying: “Beautiful family,” with a string of clapping hands and love heart emojis. Another added: “I’m obsessed with your entire family’s outfit coordination here.”

It’s not the only backlash Peter has faced recently. His new film Jafaican has faced huge criticism since the release of its trailer. The film follows Peter’s character, Gary Buckle, who decides to impersonate a Jamaican gangster in order to steal his money to pay for his own grandmother’s care home fees.

Peter stars alongside the likes of Wil Johnson, Jamie Lomas and Oliver Samuels in the film. However, his portrayal was widely slammed on social media.

He recently spoke out in defence of the project, though. As he promoted the film on Channel 7 in Australia, he explained his character’s journey. He said: “He [his character] tries everything and basically comes up with this scheme because apparently Gary looks like this guy in Jamaica who happens to be ready to inherit $3 million.

“So he comes up with this planning thinking ‘well if I look like him, surely I could just go to Jamaica for a little bit and keep my mouth shut maybe and I’ll get the money and help my nan’. And of course, that’s not gonna go smoothly at all.”

He was asked in the interview: “The trailer did see some headlines about an English-born Australian-raised actor playing a Jamaican character, you know about that. Are you surprised there’s been some mixed feedback here or were you anticipating that?”

Peter responded: “Well, to be fair, I mean, I think it’s good to get all sorts of feedback. I mean, this is not … it’s my first lead role but I’ve done quite a few roles before. And all of them, I’ve played different characters.

“So for me, it’s acting – I get to do something light-hearted, something funny. Something that y’know is the kind of film I’d wanna watch. So it’s almost like a little bit self-indulgent in the sense that I get to do something that I’ve really, really wanted to do.”

Kelsey Parker hit with stark reminder of late husband Tom’s three year anniversary

Ahead of hosting a charity football match in memory of her late husband Tom, Kelsey Parker says the event is a stark reminder that it’s been three years without The Wanted singer.

Kelsey Parker has opened up about the emotional reminder that it’s been three years since she lost her husband Tom Parker to a brain tumour, with The Wanted singer passing away in 2022 around 18 months after being diagnosed.

The mum-of-two is hosting a charity football match this weekend in Tom’s memory, which will see stars such as Ryan Thomas and Dan Osborne take to the pitch to raise money for brain tumours. And while it’s all for a good cause, Kelsey admits during an exclusive interview that it also reminds her of losing Tom.

“It’s a day like the football match when the realisation that he’s not here hits, so it is emotional,” says Kelsey, who adds, “This is our third match, I can’t believe it’s been three years since we lost him.”

Of planning the event, which takes place this Saturday at Bromley FC’s Hayes Lane stadium, Kelsey continues, “I’m the biggest control freak going, so Tom will be laughing down being like, ‘Oh, why do you just try and take control of everything, Kelsey, you bring the stress on’. But it’s something I love and I’m passionate about, I want it to be perfect for him.”

Kelsey – who says keeping busy helps her work through the grief – is a mum to daughter Aurelia and son Bodhi, who she welcomed with Tom before he passed. The couple were together for over 13 years, getting married in Surrey in 2018.

Explaining how the kids are involved too, she says, “They are so excited. Bodhi is going to come on the pitch before the match started with his little football team and then Aurelia is performing with my performing arts school during half time.

“They’re getting older each year, so they understand it more. This week, they keep saying, ‘Did you know that Daddy’s football match is on Saturday?’ They were really excited.”

Now, Kelsey is becoming a mum for the third time and is set to welcome her first child with new partner Will Lindsay, who she began dating last year. And describing Will’s close bond with her children, Kelsey says he has given full support to keeping Tom’s memory alive.

“Will brought his whole family and some friends along too, so he rallied the troops,” she laughs. “He loves Bodhi and Aurelia, so, for him, he wants to help for them.”

She adds of their tight-knit bond, “The kids are so close with Will. He went away for the weekend recently and they literally hated that he went away. They rang him every day and were like, ‘When are you coming back? You’re not allowed to go on holiday again without us.’

“I think it’s because they’ve lost someone too, as other children probably wouldn’t be like that with a new father figure in their life. They hate him going away and are really close with him”.

Kelsey Parker admits ‘it’s so important’ as she keeps Tom’s memory alive

Tom Parker’s widowed wife Kelsey Parker has revealed her appreciation at those setting up a charity event in his honour as she reveals how important it is to keep his memory alive

Widowed Kelsey Parker is determined to keep the memory of her late husband alive, three years after his death. The Wanted star Tom Parker sadly died on March 30, 2022 at the age of 33. He had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour a year earlier.

Kelsey and Tom shared two children together, Aurelia and Bodhi. She is currently pregnant with baby number three with new partner, Will Lindsay. But she is making sure Tom’s legacy continues.

Since his death, an annual charity football match has been set up in the singer’s honour. It has grown into a heartfelt legacy event, a celebration of Tom’s life and a vital fundraiser for brain tumour awareness and support, with proceeds going to Ahead of the Game, the charity that supported Tom and his family throughout his battle with the illness.

Ahead of this year’s event, Kelsey shared her gratitude to those involved. She said: “To raise awareness for brain tumours and vital funds for Ahead of The Game is so important to me and all my family.

“We’re so happy to be able to do this again for the third year running. The support has once again been fantastic. A huge thank you to Grove Gallery for returning as our official sponsor and to Bromley F.C. for hosting us once more, it really is a brilliant community and family day out, so please do come down and support us.”

As the event continues to grow, celebrities take to the pitch at Bromley F.C.’s Hayes Lane Stadium. Previous participants include Ryan and Scott Thomas, Harry Judd of McFly and Jake Quickenden.

Love Island’s Luca Bish has also been involved, as have Strictly professionals Neil Jones and Kai Widdrington.

This year’s star-studded line-up is set to go even bigger. The likes of the Thomas brothers have signed up once again, with Dan Osborne and Made In Chelsea’s Jack Taylor also set for a run out.

Soap stars such as Jaden Ladega of EastEnders and Corrie’s Alex Bain are also signed up, while boxer Derek Chisora is set to be manager of Team Parker.

A number of other reality TV stars, including Love Island’s Ronnie Vint have also been confirmed as taking part.

Others to be remembering Tom were his former bandmate Max George. On the anniversary of Tom’s death, Max shared an emotional tribute to his close pal as he battles his own health issues.

Max recently underwent emergency heart surgery after he was rushed to hospital over Christmas. Taking to Instagram to pay tribute to Tom, Max shared a black-and-white image of the pair smiling,

He captioned the upload: “3 years… Love you all the same mate,” alongside a red love heart emoji. His words came after Kelsey had shared a similar post that also marked Mother’s Day, Kelsey, 34, honoured Tom’s life. She shared several photos from their many years together.
