Mohbad: Court Refuses To Quash Legal Advice Freeing Naira Marley, Others

The Lagos High Court in Ikeja has rejected Mr. Joseph Aloba’s request to overturn the DPP’s legal advice and the subsequent court proceedings that resulted in the release of Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and other individuals on charges of being involved in Mohbad’s death.

In her decision on Wednesday, Justice Taiwo Olatokun ruled that the Attorney General’s authority to decide whether to pursue a case was legitimately exercised.

Justice Olatokun also ruled that the Attorney General’s (interim acting through the DPP) authority could not be challenged, leading to the suspension of the late Mohbad’s father’s legal rights.

The application was rejected by the court.

However, Mr. Joseph Aloba, who was present in court today along with some other Late Mohbad supporters, was unhappy with the decision.

Wahab Shittu, the applicant’s attorney and senior advocate of Nigeria, said his client was prepared to test the decision on appeal despite the DPP’s refusal to comment on it.

Background

The Aloba family’s attorney general and the DPP, who are listed as the respondents, are the defendants in the lawsuit that the applicant, Mr. Joseph Aloba, filed on behalf of.

One of the arguments used by the applicant was a lack of fair hearing, according to Shittu, the applicant’s attorney.

The coroner’s inquest, which had not yet finished its investigation into the cause of the late Mohbad, was pre-empted by Mr. Aloba’s claim that the DPP’s legal advice, which freed the duo of Naira Marley and Sam Larry, had already taken place.

He noted that the DPP’s legal counsel had freed important suspects who had been named and charged with the coroner’s case.

Ayinde Ibrahim, a legal assistant in the DPP’s office, claimed in their counter affidavit that, contrary to Mohbad’s father’s claim, the suspects who received legal advice were only discharged after being found guilty.

The respondents traced the steps involved in getting the DPP’s legal advice, the DPP’s role, and the kind of information that the DPP, the Coroner, and the applicant had access to while asking the court to reject Mr. Mohbad’s application in the name of justice.

Love Island’s Helena looks unrecognisable in throwback snaps before villa fame

Love Island bombshell Helena Ford looks unrecognisable in a selection of throwback snaps as she embarks on her second love triangle in the villa with Harry Cooksley

Love Island Helena’s old photos have resurfaced (Image: ITV)

Helena Ford is almost unrecognisable in throwback photos that have resurfaced from her past. The 29-year-old blonde bombshell has been making waves in the Love Island villa, catching the attention of both Harrison Solomon and Harry Cooksley.

Fans of the popular ITV2 dating show have dug up old photos of a younger Helena, showcasing a drastic transformation. A TikTok user shared a series of pictures, leaving many fans stunned.

The comment section was flooded with reactions, with one user exclaiming: “I gasped (shocked emoji)”. Another fan added: “No way,” while a third person typed: “She’s such a stunner.”

Helena is currently paired with bombshell Giorgio Russo, but has found herself in her second love triangle in just three weeks. She made a move on Harrison, earning her the label “sneak b***h” from love rival Toni Laites, who was coupled up with the footballer.

Helena and Harrison shared a steamy kiss in the Hideaway, leading Toni to end her romance with him over his “sneaky” snog. However, it seems Helena still has “unfinished business” with former flame Harry, which has left his partner Shakira Khan fuming, reports OK!.

During a game of Snog, Marry and Pie, Helena chose to snog Harry, saying: “It’s been a while and I wanted to test the waters.” Harry left his partner Shakira shocked when he chose to kiss Helena, candidly confessing, “There’s undeniable sexual chemistry.”

Tensions rose again with the return of the Heart Rate Challenge. Helena got closer to Harry with a rather explicit proposition in an attempt to spike his heart rate.

As she sucked on his finger, she whispered naughtily: “I can’t wait to f*** you!” – a comment that visibly rocked Harry. Dejon Noel-Williams was seen gaping as Harrison relayed Helena’s risqué remark, leading everyone to question whether it’s merely a strategic move to influence his pulse or if her attraction to Harry is real.

On Monday night, the power was given to the boys as they were able to pick who to couple up with. It was Ben who made a shock move as he chose to couple up with Helena, leaving Harrison in the dark.

Despite having snogged Helena in the previous challenge, Harry chose to recouple with Shakira, but the villa was in for a shock when Ben chose to couple up with Helena. It was then down to Harrison, and without the option of Helena, he decided to couple up with Toni once again.

That left Conor and Alima in a friendship couple, after both Megan and Remell were sent home earlier in the week. Fans were left shocked with Ben’s choice, and although he said he needed to go with the girl he was vibing with the most – fans suspected it meant they were the next to be dumped.

After the recoupling, Helena went over to speak to Harrison, who said he had prepared to pick her, even having planned out his whole recoupling speech.

“Ella-Grey has been lying on me all day, she latched on immediately and is as wonderful as I imagined she would be…..but like her sister…..I am blindsided that she is a girl. So, now I have two very big boys of 20 and 22, and two tiny girls aged 1 day and 23 months.”

Australia Cancels Kanye West’s Visa Over ‘Heil Hitler’ Song

Kanye West’s visa was suspended by Australia because of his song, which glorifies Nazis and was released on Wednesday, the government announced.

The 48-year-old musician, who legally changed his name to Ye, released “Heil Hitler” on May 8 to mark the 80th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s victory in World War II.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke claimed that West, whose wife Bianca Censori is Australian, has been visiting Australia for some time because of his country’s family.

He has made numerous offensive remarks. However, my officials reexamined it after he released the song “Helen Heil Hitler,” and he no longer has an Australian visa.

Burke claimed that performing artists were not permitted to hold concerts because of the rapper’s cancelled visa.

The officials still looked at the law and said, “We don’t need that in Australia,” he told ABC, a public broadcaster.

When asked if it was possible to outlaw a popular figure like this, the minister responded, “I think what’s not sustainable is to import hatred.”

He claimed that immigration officials periodically review each visa application.

Importing bigotry

According to Burke, Australian citizens are free to speak.

“But we already have enough issues in this country,” he said.

When it was revealed that Kanye West would be playing a concert there in July, the song “Heil Hitler” sparked public outcry last week in Slovakia.

More than 3, 000 people criticized West’s performance in the Slovak capital in a petition.

The rapper, who has a strong support for US President Donald Trump, “repeatedly and openly adheres to symbols and ideology connected to the darkest period of modern global history,” according to the petition’s authors.

The petition read, “Kanye West’s concert in our city and our country is an insult to historical memory, glorification of wartime violence, and debasement of all Nazi regime victims.”

Difficult Black men chant the song’s title in the “Heil Hitler” clip as West raps about being misunderstood and about his custody battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian while standing in a block formation and wearing animal pelts and masks.

The Nazi dictator’s speech is the song’s concluding line.

Sean Combs, a rapper and music mogul, has also been tried in New York for allegedly sex trafficking and racketeering, which West has publicly supported. The jury is currently deciding its verdict in that case.

‘I was conned out of hundreds by ‘Jennifer Aniston’ – she told me she loved me’

A fraudster pretending to be Friends star, Jennifer Aniston, reportedly scammed a man out of £200 after claiming she desperately needed the cash for ‘ Apple subscriptions ‘

A heartbroken Friends fan claims he was cruelly scammed out of £200 by a fraudster pretending to be Jennifer Aniston. Paul Davies from Southampton, says he thought he was chatting to the Rachel Green legend on social media before ‘Jennifer’ asked to him to hand over the cash so she could pay for her “Apple subscriptions”.

Paul says he was targeted by a flurry of AI scammers pretending to be Hollywood stars in a worrying new wave of deepfake fraud. The Brit, 43, revealed how he was swamped by swathes of very convincing clips – he thought were from celebrities – including Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. However, when ‘ Jen ‘ sent him her driving licence as proof of her identity, he says he fell for it, not least because she told him she ‘ loved him’.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: “I’ve had fake videos from Jennifer Aniston saying she loves me and asking for £200. I believed it – and I paid.”

The savage scam saw him send £200 worth of non-refundable Apple gift cards to the alleged American sweetheart as Paul admitted: “I got bitten”. Once bitten, twice shy. “

During their exchange on social media, ‘ Jennifer ‘ sent a slew of sweet messages to Paul while also warning him not to contact Facebook because” you don’t want problems”.

The cruel con is sadly part of a worrying wave of deepfake, AI generated videos, which often forge someone’s face, voice or entire likeness.

Paul claims he’s been hounded by droves of deepfake videos, often promising he’s won a huge prize, endorsed by a fake celebrity.

One video even showed a fake Zuckerberg declaring:” This is not a scam – believe me “while flashing a phoney ID.

” They make it look so real, “Paul said”. It’s been going on for five months. I anticipated that someone would face punishment for this, but they seem to be having a good laugh and getting away with it.

Paul says he’s sharing his story to protect others, despite acknowledging that the scam has had a significant impact on his mental health.

It comes after another unsuspecting Facebook user fell foul of a scammer pretending to be Brad Pitt.

Despite actually residing in Nigeria and never standing in front of the camera, they conned a French woman out of nearly $700,000 by pretending to be the Fight Club star.

After receiving AI-generated selfies and love messages, interior designer Anne, 53, was tricked into funding a fake cancer treatment for the so-called “star.”

Anne lost her marriage, health, and fortune in the sham romance, which lasted for more than a year.

Eventually, a crack team discovered the scammer’s identity, his Nigerian residence, and, regrettably, 34 other victims.

Kanye West banned from entering Australia over song with shocking two-word title

Kanye West’s visa was revoked because of his promotion of hateful content and antisemitism, according to the Australian Immigration Minister, underscoring the country’s strong opposition to bigotry.

Australia has blocked rapper Kanye West from entering the country following the release of his controversial song Heil Hitler, Immigration Minister Tony Burke confirmed.

After being investigated for his offensive remarks related to the song, Burke explained on ABC’s Afternoon Briefing that West, known as Ye, had his valid visa suspended. He admitted that “my officials looked at him again after he released that song,” according to Burke.

Despite West having family ties in Australia, the visa he held wasn’t for concert purposes but a lower-level category. “Officials still looked at the law and said if you’re going to have a song and promote that sort of Nazism, we don’t need that in Australia,” the minister added.

Hillel Fuld, an Israeli-American tech advocate whose visa was reportedly voided as a result of Islamophobic statements, was the subject of Burke’s comments during a discussion.

The Minister stated that Fuld’s application was “never actually received,” but that he would not allow someone to go on a speaking tour. I don’t want someone who shares my opinion of Islamophobia because they are requesting public speeches on the visa.

He emphasized the importance of public advocates receiving stricter standards, but he also emphasized that West’s visa was canceled because it wasn’t related to advocacy. West’s ability to travel to Australia became the subject of rumors in 2023, in part due to his marriage to Australian Bianca Censori.

Prior to Burke’s assassination and prior to Heil Hitler’s release earlier this year, government official Jason Clare had previously suggested that West’s history of antisemitic remarks would justify visa refusal.

Burke explained that visa applications are reviewed based on current law, noting a permanent ban on the West. Even for the lowest level of visa, when my officials looked at it, they cancelled that after the song was released, he said, “I’m not taking away the way the act operates.”

“We already have enough issues in this country,” according to the statement.

The track “Heil Hitler” from the Grammy-winning hip-hop artist’s new album, WW3, comes with problematic lyrics. The rapper, who calls himself a “villain” and openly chants “Heil Hitler,” is a reflection of Kanye’s recent attitude toward Nazis.

In “Heil Hitler,” West makes a series of debatable claims and disses Drake. He raps, “n***as be actin like f****ts so much, I think they might be Drake… they don’t understand the things I say on Twitter… all my n****s Nazis n***a Heil Hitler…”

The Runaway singer revealed in a recent X (formerly Twitter) post that he has trouble performing his new song live. He continued, “I’m being told that performing Hell Hitler is problematic.” At all of my shows, I perform Heil Hitler.
