Prince Harry’s brutal blow after King Charles’ cancer diagnosis as he lands in UK

The Duke of Sussex is on a solo trip back to London for a brief four-day visit – but questions remain as to whether his family will see him before he returns to California

Prince Harry is back in the UK for four days

Prince Harry has landed in the UK for a four-day visit – but the question on everyone’s lips is whether he will reunite with his father, the King.

The Duke has made it clear in recent months that he would like a reconciliation with his family, but royal sources warn it might not be so easy to paper over the cracks.

The rift between the Sussexes and the Royal Family has been deepening ever since Harry and his wife Meghan Markle self-exiled and moved to the US. The explosive sit-down interviews, Netflix shows and memoir that followed only dampened relations further as Harry made numerous swipes against his family.

Most recently, the Duke claimed that his father Charles is refusing to speak to him amid a bitter court battle over the degree of police security Harry and his family are entitled to while visiting the UK. Harry shocked royal circles when he publicly questioned how long his father has left to live in a candid interview just after he lost the case.

Harry and Charles have not seen each other since last February when the Duke flew back to his home country following the announcement of the King’s cancer diagnosis.

It remains to be seen whether father and son will reunite during Harry’s return to the UK this week, but a key area of concern for the royals is said to be trust.

The Prince has been accused of betraying his family by writing a scathing book about his experience of royal life, with fears that whatever Harry is told, ends up being leaked to the media.

This was reportedly the key reason that the Duke was not informed of King Charles cancer diagnosis in advance – instead, he is believed to have found out at the same time as the rest of the world, in an announcement from the Palace in February last year. The shock announcement is likely to have been a huge blow for the Duke.

Harry promptly flew to London to see his father after the news broke – but the pair met for just half an hour.

Charles is currently at Birkhall, his Scottish residence, and will remain there until at least tomorrow, as he privately marks the third anniversary of his mother’s death. He does have a number of private audiences and meetings this week, which could, potentially, bring him back to the capital.

Harry is set to attend the WellChild Awards in London on Monday to show his support for the charity which supports young people affected by terminal and serious illness and their families. He has been its patron for 17 years, and will present an award.

On Tuesday, he will visit the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham. His team says he will use the visit to announce a ‘substantial donation’ to charity Children in Need to support its work tackling violence impacting young people.

Harry has engagements on Wednesday and Thursday with other charities he is involved in, including the Invictus Games and the Diana Award.

A source told the Mail Online: “His visit is four days long and focusing purely on the patronages. [He is] keeping it positive, no courtrooms, just doing the stuff he loved to do and, hopefully, helping some of those causes closest to his heart.”

It is highly unlikely that Harry will see his brother Prince William during his visit. The future King is said to have no interest in a reconciliation, and has official engagements on every day of Harry’s stay.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday, The Sunday Times’ royal editor Roya Nikkhah was asked about Harry’s potential reunion with Charles.

She said: “No one knows apart from the King, Harry and his private secretary. As from what I understand, it’s still very up in the air.

“If it does happen, I think it’ll happen midweek when the King comes down from Balmoral. It’s never that simple. Father and son want to see each other but Harry has said so many things in the last two years that has been hurtful to the King, to the Queen, to William, to Kate. There’s so much mistrust. Can a meeting like that happen and Harry not talk about it after? That’s the key question.”

Host Susanna Reid then asked what the most hurtful things Harry had said, and Roya said she believes it was what Harry said in Spare about Queen Camilla being “dangerous”.

BREAKING: Prince Harry lands in UK for solo visit as mystery over Charles reunion ramps up

Prince Harry has touched down in London, marking his first visit to his home country in almost six months.

Harry arrived at Heathrow Airport this morning solo as his wife Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet remained in America. Harry has made the trip from his home in California to London for the WellChild Awards, to celebrate the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters and their families.

It will be Harry’s 15th time attending the annual award ceremony as he continues his work as the charity’s patron, which is a role he has held for 17 years. The Duke will spend time with each winner and their families at a pre-ceremony reception then present an award to an inspirational child aged four to six. Harry’s arrival back in the UK also coincides with the third anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth.

Harry’s trip to the UK has prompted much speculation around a potential meeting between the Duke and his estranged father King Charles.

If the father and son do meet during Harry’s rare trip to his home country, it will be the first time they have seen each other since February 2024.

Harry has long expressed his desire to reconcile with King Charles and the royal family at large, with rumours of peace talks first emerging when senior aides to both Charles and Harry were spotted at a meeting in London in early July.

A US source told the Mirror that there is a strong possibility the pair will reunite, saying: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry. For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach.”

They continued: “After 20 months apart, and with the King continuing his treatment, the feeling is that the time is right to take that step. This is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings – it’s about a simple face-to-face conversation between a father and his son. The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue.”

While rumours have swirled about Prince Harry and King Charles meeting during the Duke of Sussex’s brief trip to London, neither Buckingham Palace or the Sussex camp have confirmed such a meeting will take place.

Patsy Kensit says sons have ‘broken her heart’ and admits huge parenting mistake

The Emmerdale and EastEnders star shares son James with Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr and Lennon with Oasis’ Liam Gallagher – she opens up about how changes in their relationship have ‘broken her heart’

Patsy Kensit has shared how changes in her relationships with sons James and Lennon have “broken” her heart and the parenting mistake that “wasn’t fair” to them.

Talking to Ateh Jewel on HELLO!’s Second Act podcast, the soap star revealed how difficult it was when her sons left home. “It’s just broken my heart because they grow and they leave,” Patsy, 57, said.

She added how mistakes she made impacted her children: “I have two sons, I was so codependent on them to the point it wasn’t fair on them. I could sense that in them.

“They’re 24 and 33, I mean, I had a child at that age, and so I think for a few years I put way too much pressure on them.”

Patsy shares her sons with two world famous musicians – James, her eldest whose father is Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, and Lennon, who she had with ex-husband and Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher.

Elsewhere in the episode, Patsy opens up about her own childhood. Her father, James, was a ‘career criminal’ and closely connected with notorious London gangsters The Krays, to the extent that Reggie Kray was Patsy’s godfather. However, it was her relationship with her mother that she opened up about.

Margaret, a former model, was diagnosed with terminal cancer when Patsy was 11. The impact it had on her life led to a PTSD diagnosis in 2023.

“In her 30s, my mother was terminally ill, she got diagnosed with cancer. It was a death sentence in those days, and she absolutely fought the illness,” Patsy said. “She died when I was 22.

“By the age of 11, I’d been to say goodbye to her probably about a dozen times. We’d get the call that she’s not going to say, make it through the night. We all get down to the hospital and then she pulls through. I think her worry was for my brother and I. What would happen to us?”

Her relationships with her family were not the only topic of discussion. Patsy’s relationship with money has been as complicated and resulted in having to start over in her 50s, despite starring in Hollywood blockbusters like Lethal Weapon 2. “I lost everything about 5 years ago,” she shared.

“I have more anxiety around it then you would ever believe. But you’ve just got to face things and work through them.”

Patsy started working aged four, when she appeared in a TV advert for Birds Eye frozen peas in 1972. She has worked consistently since then, appearing in films like the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby, starring Robert Redford, musical film Absolute Beginners and a number of soaps and dramas, such as Emmerdale, where she played Sadie King, and EastEnders, where she played Emma Harding.

It’s the latter role Patsy hopes to return to: “I’d love to go back to EastEnders.”

She added that last time, though it was her “dream job”, she wasn’t supported when taking it.

“That, to me, was a dream job, and I was in a relationship at the time, and it wasn’t really a job that I was encouraged to take.”

But, now out of a relationship and happily single, things are looking up for Patsy. She also told Ateh Jewel that she has been loving spending time with her good friend, Elizabeth Hurley, who celebrated her 60th birthday recently and the release of her reality competition show The Inheritance.

“Her and I just fell in love instantly,” Patsy said. “For her sixtieth, she’s got a beautiful place in the country. The whole family adopted me a little bit.”

Jamie Laing reveals mortifying mistake that caused naked photo to be shared

Sophie Habboo shared a naked photo of her husband Jamie Laing last month during a weekend away and the couple have since addressed the situation on their NearlyParents podcast

Radio host Jamie Laing has spoken about his wife Sophie Habboo posting a naked photo of him on social media. The couple discussed the situation on their podcast and suggested that they hadn’t noticed one particular detail.

Sophie, 30, shared a photo of Jamie, 36, with her followers on Instagram over the bank holiday weekend last month. It showed him facing away from his wife as he stood with his hands on his hips whilst looking towards glass doors. Fans reacted by saying they could see his penis in a reflection.

Jamie and Sophie have since addressed the situation on an episode of their NearlyParents podcast, which was released this morning. The couple told viewers that they had been away for the weekend when the photo was shared.

Jamie said that it was taken after they had breakfast in their room. He said on the podcast: “I’m getting changed and Sophie decides to take a photo of me. I’m completely naked.” He then added: “Standing in front of the window.”

Sophie said: “You weren’t getting changed, you were looking at your reflection in front of the window.” Jamie reacted: “No I wasn’t.” Sophie said: “There was no clothes near you.” Jamie replied: “Because I was getting changed.” Sophie said: “Sure.”

Jamie continued: “I’m standing in front of the window and I’m completely naked and Sophie takes a photo of me. Then what happens is this … Sophie goes ‘right, I’m just gonna post a dump or whatever. So I’m gonna post a dump on my Instagram’ and I’m like ‘sure, fine, whatever, don’t worry’. We also make a deal that we’re gonna have no phones the whole weekend so we just completely relax, no phones. Nothing at all.”

He added: “Sophie posts it. Done. We leave it. Gone. We leave our phones inside. We go on our day. About four hours later we get a text from Sophie’s sister saying ‘oh my god, guys, check your Instagram’ so we’re like ‘what the hell’.”

Sophie then told viewers that her sister had sent over the photo and circled part of it to point out the issue. She said: “No, what Georgia did … she said ‘oh my god guys’ and she [screenshotted] the photo and she circled your penis on it.”

Jamie said: “There’s a picture of me on Sophie’s Instagram. I’m completely butt naked and in the reflection of the window you can see my penis. And that has gone out to now a million people. It’s gone out to a million people and I’m like ‘what?'”

Sophie said: “The picture actually has three million views.” Jamie continued: “It has three million views.” He went on to say that the photo has since been removed from her page, with him telling viewers: “We’ve now deleted it.”

His wife suggested that some people who didn’t see it before it was deleted have been requesting it. Jamie later said to her whilst recording the podcast together: “Imagine if I posted a picture of your vagina on the internet.”

Sophie responded: “I would literally never forgive you. But there are pictures of your penis all over the internet if you really dug deep enough you’d find it.” Jamie said: “I know there are loads of pictures of my penis on the internet but that’s fine but …” Asked how many, Jamie said there are “quite a few”.

Following his comment, Sophie said: “So there you go, it’s nothing new – everyone’s seen it before!” She added: “I personally zoomed in and can’t really see it. I can see the outline of the penis but like …” Jamie however said: “Soph, you can see my full penis.” She said that she could see the size but nothing “in detail”.

Wayne Rooney reveals toe-curling comment Man Utd manager made when he first met Coleen

Wayne Rooney has lifted the lid on former Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal’s first red-faced interaction with the England star’s, wife, Coleen

Wayne Rooney has revealed the cringeworthy comment his former Man Utd boss made to his wife, Coleen, when the pair first met

Wayne Rooney has revealed the cringeworthy comment his former Man Utd boss made to his wife, Coleen, when the pair first met. Louis Van Gaal managed the Red Devils between 2014 and 2016, and shared a close bond with Wayne, making him captain when he arrived at the club.

However, when the Dutchman first met the Scouse WAG at a players’ lunch, he made a jaw-dropping comment about Wayne’s sperm – in an exchange no-one saw coming.

Wayne, 39, has openly spoken about how Van Gaal was ‘quite a loud and bubbly character’ in the past, and during the latest episode of The Wayne Rooney Show, he revealed the toe-curling quip the now 74-year-old made during his first-ever conversation with Coleen, 39.

“I loved him, he was so funny,” the dad-of-four said, explaining: “The first time he met Coleen, we had a lunch with all the players, wives, girlfriends, staff.

“He came up to Coleen, first time he had met her, he said: “Your children, they look very much like the father’.

“She said: ‘Yeah’, he said: ‘He has very strong sperm’. That was the first time he met her!”

The bombshell comment did not bother Wayne, who admitted he found the conversation rather amusing.

“He was so funny, such a good character,” the Scouser said, adding: “We just moved on. I really liked him as a person. He was different and funny but as a coach I probably learned more from him than I did from anyone else.”

Coleen has been in the public eye ever since she was 16 when she and Wayne started dating. Now, married and with four kids, the England star admitted things have altered their relationship since their sons have come along.

The couple’s four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass, have certainly changed the dynamics of family life.

Wayne and Coleen, who were childhood sweethearts from Croxteth, Liverpool, have been married for 17 years.

Telling his podcast listeners, that his wife used to leave his clothes freshly ironed, ready for the morning, he said: “Before we had kids, Coleen used to leave my clothes out the night before. So, every day, yeah… She’d put my clothes out, ironed and ready for me to put on the next morning.”

Laughing, he continued: “Now I’ve got to get up and get my own clothes, I’m fuming. No, but yeah… Obviously now with kids…
