Reality star Helena Ford worked as part of the cabin crew of an airline before shse found fame on ITV’s Love Island – but now fears she’ll never get her old job back

Love Island star Helena Ford is convinced she’s ruined any chance she ever had to make a return to the world of air travel hospitality. The reality star had a career as a member of cabin crew before she joined the 2025 cast of ITV’s dating show.

And while some former Love Island contestants have returned to the careers they once had before fame, Helena, 29, is convinced she won’t be able to make her way back to her former job. But the star only has herself to blame.

While appearing in the twelfth season of the long-running reality show, Helena raised eyebrows when she mouthed off about some of the passengers she had dealt with in the past. And now she thinks her indiscretion will have cost her any hope of returning to the job.

She told the Daily Star: “I don’t think they will take me back after that roast I did. Plus all the passengers will think, ‘Oh no, I’m going to get roasted now.’”

She continued: “Never say never but I’m not looking to go back at the moment, definitely not. I think I need take a break and to do some therapy first – I watched a lot of things back that I didn’t like in myself, so there’s that to work on first.”

Earlier this week, 2023 season 10 contestant Mitchel Taylor – who also appeared on Love Island: All Stars in 2024 – revealed he had given up on his Influencer lifestyle to return to the world of work.

The 27-year-old took to Instagram to reveal how his showbiz lifestyle was over and he was back in the swing of a regular nine-to-five job. Insisting the influencer lifestyle was no longer paying the bills, Mitch – who was best known for his chaotic ways in the lavish villa – has returned to his role as a gas engineer.

He said on social media: “Guys, if you’re not nearly 30 like gorgeous Messy Mitch, and you’re still trying to survive off Love Island money, not locking into other ventures, then yes, you’re stupid.

“You gotta do Love Island and you gotta do your day job, because money keeps sexy girlfriends and buys houses.”

His jokey confession came after his had updated his Snapchat fans on his latest move. “Yes guys listen giving you an update on my life and to be honest with you, I’ve just not posted on Snapchat at all since,” he said.

“I didn’t have a 9-5 for two years because I was, like, old rock star famous cool guy. Now I’m poor, so I’ve got to work.”

But he said that having a job “isn’t a bad thing” as he jovially spoke to followers. And he also ruled out a return to the cast of Love Island, revealing he is in a relationship.

Mitch confessed he is currently dating TikTok’s Hayley Griffin. He went on: “And I can’t go on a dating show because I’m in love with a girl. But it’s not that, guys, it’s just like I’ve been working loads.”

Love Island finalist Yasmin Pettet has returned to social media following speculation her relationship with Jamie Rhodes is over. The duo made it to the final of the latest series and looked to have build a natural connection.

However, despite appearing happy when they took to the National Television Awards red carpet on Wednesday, by the end of the night Jamie is said to have told pals she had “f***ed off”. And it’s reported Yasmin had been seen holding hands with The Traitors star Freddie Fraser at the same event.

And now, days later, Yasmin has taken to social media to share a new post. However, she has made sure to ignore any mention of the speculation.

Instead, she posed following a hot pilates session. She took a selfie in the mirror while sitting on an exercise mat wearing a short black outfit. She had her long black hair tied back for the workout.

Sources had claimed that Yasmin and Jamie’s relationship was now over just months after they left the Love Island villa as a couple. According to The Sun, a source claimed that Yasmin told Freddie at the NTAs that the pair needed to “go somewhere private, no one can see”. And it’s said Jamie had hit out Yasmin’s disappearing act to his pals.

Another partygoer at the event told the outlet: “Yasmin and Jamie weren’t together at the party a lot at all, compared to Harry and Shakira and Cach and Toni, who were glued to each other’s sides.

“Then I saw her holding hands with Freddie and pulling him away. She said, ‘We need to go somewhere private, no one can see.’”

“I was totally shocked because I loved them on the show and they seemed like the best connection.”

Earlier in the night, Yasmin had told reporters at the annual event that the couple were “really good”. She said: “I mean, we get to come here, to something like this, together tonight, which is incredible.

“The whole band is going to be here as well. I think we’re going to have a great time.”

The apparent split comes weeks after Yasmin explained the pair were yet to be intimate outside the villa. She admitted she had been grieving the loss of her pet cat, Miaow Miaow.

And she praised Jamie for providing her with emotional support during the tough times. She also said the couple weren’t in a rush to progress with the romance.

“I’ve been going through grief and Jamie will just sit there when I cry on him,” she toldThe Sun. “I’ve taken a lot of time to process my emotions, so Jamie and I haven’t been intimate yet.”

She added: “He’s so patient. He’s never rushed that, because he knows it will happen at the right time.”

Rock band’s frontman Tim Booth, lead singer of the band James, has revealed he is ‘disgusted’ that his song was used in the Tommy Robinson protest rally, which took place in London on Saturday, 13 September.

The march was organised by the far-right activist Tommy Robinson, also known as Stephen Lennon, the Chief Executive of the UK’s largest anti-racism and anti-extremism movement.

More than 100,000 people joined the central London march, and a song by James was played. The song Sit Down was played in the background of a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, which panned around the crowd at the protest.

After witnessing the video, Tim took to social media to say he was ‘disgusted’ and that ‘no permission was granted’ to use the song under the circumstances. He said: “Disgusted to see the cynical use of ‘Sit Down’ by @TRobinsonNewEra. No permission was granted, and we are looking into our options. The song and most of our topical lyrics, make it very clear where we stand, and it’s the antithesis of this organization.”

Tim has been known to share his opinions online and previously called out fellow musician Morrissey in 2018 and labelled him a ‘d**k’. The two were previously friends; however, that seemed to change after the former Smiths frontman reportedly expressed sympathy for Tommy Robinson,

Tim said: “I knew Morrissey as a friend when he was sweet, very shy, very frightened. Wanting success, wanting what happened with The Smiths and also terrified of it simultaneously. I saw about their seventh gig in Manchester and they were fully formed. They were ready, they were locked and loaded. And we weren’t.”, The Metro reported.

“They were so kind to us. Morrissey called us the best band in the world, they took us on tour, they tried to take us to America but we actually turned them down. And they were so sweet, all of them, for years. But I know he’s become a bit of a d**k. As I say, he did some very kind things for us so therefore it’s hard for me to say he’s a d**k but he’s being a d**k at the moment.”

He said: “I think there’s something beautiful about being British and what I see happening here is a destruction of Britain, initially a slow erosion but rapidly increasing erosion of Britain with massive uncontrolled migration. A failure by the government to protect innocent people, including children who are getting gang-raped.

“It’s unreal the government has failed in its duty to protect its citizens, which is a fundamental duty of government.”

Elsewhere, Weyman Bennett, co-convenor of Stand Up to Racism, said: “These far right thugs planned this to be a violent riot. They want a repeat of last summer’s violence – and more. Let’s stop pretending these are ‘concerned ordinary working class people’ – they are far right thugs who went to a demonstration organised by fascist Tommy Robinson.

“We are proud we organised a vibrant demonstration against them, but we need more opposition to the far right threat.”

His puppy update comes after he was hit with another major blow at his pub after a customer tried to claim a hefty payout over an alleged food intolerance. The former Top Gear host revealed that he was forced to provide proof in response to a disgruntled customer’s attempt to claim thousands in damages.

Vernon Kay was left emotional on his Radio 2 show as he issued a statement about a colleague who is set to leave the programme after two-and-a-half years

Vernon Kay became emotional on air as he delivered a heartfelt farewell message about one of his Radio 2 team members. The 51-year-old has been hosting his mid-morning radio programme since stepping into Ken Bruce’s shoes in 2023.

The programme ranks as Britain’s most listened-to radio show, with latest statistics indicating approximately 6.6 million listeners tune in daily. However, Vernon recently confirmed that his show’s lineup would be undergoing changes.

On Thursday, he disclosed that videographer Chloe would be departing the programme, reports the Manchester Evening News. She’s preparing to transfer to BBC Radio One to collaborate with Greg James.

Delivering a touching farewell to Chloe, Vernon expressed: “We should say, our videographer, our social media person, Chloe, lovely Chloe, who has been on the team for two-and-a-half years is leaving to go and work with a fella called Gregory James.

“He’s the host, apparently, of Radio One’s very successful Breakfast Show, so it’s a valuable asset we’re losing and a valuable asset they’re gaining. Chloe, you know we love you, from the bottom of our hearts you’ve been absolutely superb.

“All those videos that you’ve made over time for this show. From the moment I walked through the door she’s been there with a camera in my face and you’re going to be sadly, sadly missed.”

The father-of-two subsequently revealed that his touching tribute had moved Chloe to tears. He continued: “There’s Chloe, sad times, she’s crying, she’s upset.”
