Madonna reveals chilling words her late mother said to her as she lay in a coma

Madonna has claimed that Madonna’s late mother, who was also known as Madonna, appeared to her while she was unconscious in a hospital and that it had altered her life.

Singer-songwriter Madonna has said that her late mother appeared to her when she was in a coma. She’s shared that the experience, which she mentioned whilst discussing her late brother, led to a realisation in her life at the time.

Madonna, 67, was five years old when her mother, Madonna Fortin, died. The performer, who paid tribute to her late parent just months ago, has now said that she appeared to her when she was “unconscious” in a hospital bed.

It was announced in 2023 that the Material Girl hitmaker had ended up in an induced coma after contracting a bacterial infection. As reported by Bang Showbiz, she’s shared that it was whilst in hospital at the time that her late relative appeared to her and asked if she wanted to “come with” her.

Speaking to Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast, she said: “I was almost there on the other side and I had a conscious moment. My mother appeared to me and she said ‘do you want to come with me?’ And I said ‘no’.”

She continued, “My assistant was in the room with me, but she heard me say “no,” even though I was still unconscious. And then when I finally woke up, I realized that the “no” was about me needing to forgive and make amends with those I still harbor resentment.

Before their “feed” increased when he released his 2008 best-selling book Life With My Sister Madonna, the singer claimed that one of her “biggest enemies” was her brother, Christopher Ciccone, whom she’s said to have allegedly argued over work-related issues. She acknowledged that it was “hard” to let go of her animosity toward him.

She continued, “It’s crucial to find a way to forgive even those who you consider to be your biggest enemies.” My brother recently passed away, which has been my favorite because I believe the people you think you’re closest to are the ones who cause you the most harm.

Madonna said: “If someone you love deeply betrays you, and does something that shows that they have no consciousness in that moment that they made that choice to do that, it’s a bitter pill for me to swallow.” But she was grateful they repaired their rift before Christopher died of pancreatic cancer last year.

She continued, “I didn’t speak to my brother for years.” Years and years. And it was him reaching out to me and saying, “I need your help,” which translated into asking, “Am I going to help my enemy?” And I did it right away.

Even if he was dying and declaring, “I love you and I forgive you,” Madonna continued, “It was such a load off my back, such a weight that was removed, baggage that I could put down.” That was extremely crucial.

Prince William and Kate Middleton put ‘no-go zone’ around new home after ‘kick in teeth’

The Windsor estate’s Forest Lodge is where the Prince and Princess of Wales are reportedly moving, and it appears that preparations are already in full swing.

An exclusion zone has been thrown around the Prince and Princess of Wales ‘ new family home before they move in.

William, Kate and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are due to move to their eight-bedroom Grade II-listed “forever home” Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park before Christmas.

However, a major change has been established in the land surrounding the property, seeing locals cut off from using a portion of Windsor Great Park, with a car park and gate to the area closed to them forever – a move one local called a “kick in the teeth”.

The site has now been shut down, and pictures now show signs warning of the permanent closure of nearby Cranbourne Gate and Cranbourne Car Park.

Residents who live within a mile of the gate previously had the option of applying for the keys for a £110 annual fee.

Workmen were seen installing additional fencing yesterday at Cranborne Gate and the 150-acre no-go zone’s reported 2. 3 mile perimeter.

Access via Cranbourne Gate will be permanently blocked on Monday, September 29, 2025, due to the pending designation of a portion of The Great Park as a SOCPA (Serious Organised Crime and Police Act exclusion area), according to a notice posted on the Windsor Great Park website.

Cranbourne Car Park will be shut down for good on Sunday, September 28, 2025, starting at 7pm. The nearby Rangers Gate Car Park, which is located directly across the street, will continue to have parking.

Trespassing on a protected area is a criminal offense under the 2005 Serious Organised Crime and Police Act (SOCPA). Kensington Palace made no comment.

Following Kate’s recovery from cancer, the Waleses are making a new home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

Additionally, they have Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace in London and a 10-bedroom mansion called Anmer Hall on the Norfolk estate.

It is believed that extensive works were underway earlier this month to plant new trees and hedgerows and install fences around the mansion to improve privacy.

In June, redacted planning applications were submitted to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council, and property alterations were approved for minor internal and external improvements.

These include new ceilings and floors as well as brand-new windows and doors. Kate reportedly picked up some new furniture, including a 24-seat dining table, while she was out shopping.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond previously told the Mirror : “By ordinary standards, it is, of course, pretty grand. With eight bedrooms, beautiful gardens, and a tennis court, it would probably be worth around £16million on the open market.

“It needs a bit of renovation, but it’s reported that, to their credit, the prince and princess intend to fund any work themselves. Lessons have clearly been learned from Harry and Meghan‘s extravagant, taxpayer-funded refurbishment of the home they so briefly occupied, Frogmore Cottage – although, to be fair, after leaving the UK, they finally paid the money back.”

Arise Sir Gary! Beaming Gary Oldman receives knighthood at Windsor Castle from Prince William

Sir Gary Oldman, 67, a London-born actor, played a number of figures in the King’s Birthday Honours, including prime minister Sir Winston Churchill and Sex Pistols hellraiser Sid Vicious.

Oscar-winning actor Sir Gary Oldman has received a knighthood at Windsor Castle from Prince William.

In the King’s Birthday Honours, the 67-year-old film star, who was born in London, was honored for his dramatic contributions. In his long career, Oldman has played a variety of roles, including those in the Sex Pistols and Sir Winston Churchill’s former prime minister.

In Apple TV’s Slow Horses, based on the Slough House book series written by British author Mick Herron, one of his more recent and well-known roles is that of veteran MI5 agent Jackson Lamb.

In the early 1990s, he appeared as the titular vampire in Bram Stoker’s Dracula and as the alleged assassin of US President John F. Kennedy.

In 1997, his semi-autobiographical film Nil By Mouth, which was praised as brilliant but heartbreakingly moving, was released.

In 1998, he was awarded the award for outstanding British film and best original screenplay.

Across the Noughties and into the 2010s he appeared in some of the Harry Potter films as Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black, and also starred as Gotham City Police lieutenant Jim Gordon in Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).

In the 2011 film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, he received Bafta and Oscar nominations for his portrayal of George Smiley.

Prior to his role in The Darkest Hour, where he swept the 2018 awards season, earning an Academy Award, Bafta, and more, he was unable to capture the leading actor award.

Samantha Morton, the actress who won the Bafta award, and Rachel Daly, the 2022 Euro-winning, are also among the names honored on Tuesday.

Morton, 48, who is renowned for her roles in The Serpent Queen and Longford, will receive an OBE for her contributions to drama and charity.

Before starring in period dramas like Emma in 1996 and Jane Eyre in 1997, she made her first TV appearances in 1991 with Soldier Soldier and Boon.

Morton received her first British Independent Film Award (Bifa) nomination for best actress in 1998 for her role in Carine Adler’s indie film Under The Skin.

She received the Richard Harris Award in 2022 for her outstanding contribution to British cinema, and in 2002 she won the best actress award for Morvern Callar.

The actress and director also received two Oscar nominations, including those for In America and Sweet And Lowdown in 2000.

For her portrayal of the young murderer Myra Hindley in the TV series Longford, she received a Golden Globe in 2008.

Morton also co-wrote and directed the TV series The Unloved, which is based on her first-hand knowledge of the British care system, and won the 2010 Bafta TV Awards for best single drama.

In the 2002 sci-fi action film Minority Report, she co-starred with Tom Cruise, and she co-starred with Mary Lou in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016).

Morton dedicated the award, which is the academy’s highest honor, to children in care last year, with the Bafta fellowship.

Additionally, Abbott Lyon is currently offering a two for one deal using the promo code 2FOR1, which allows you to purchase all four of her favorite bracelets for the price of two.

The £55 Knot Bangle, which is gold with silver woven into the knot design and resembles Fendi’s designer one, is another ultra-cheap purchase. Additionally, Olivia typically wears all three bracelets together to create a layered look, while also wearing the £59 Molten Bangle.

The Belgravia 36mm Pearl &amp, Crystal Link Watch, which costs slightly more, is her collection’s final item, priced at £149. The watch has a pearl-like face and two tone gold and silver metal strap, which reminds one of a high-end Rolex.

Richard Osman explains his ‘ridiculous’ views on life and why he loves ‘doing nothing’

The Impossible Fortune, Robert Osman’s newest book for the Murder Club, is going to be filled with turns and twists.

“I love, love, love doing nothing. Doing nothing is, quite absolutely, my state of grace,” says Richard Osman, 54, who, most days, is doing very far from nothing.

He acknowledges that multitasking is not his strong suit. He has just finished recording 110 episodes of Richard Osman’s House of Games, has been hosting The Rest Is Entertainment podcast with Marina Hyde, and has signed 5, 000 copies of his newest book, The Impossible Fortune.

“I do a good job of monotasking.” He wryly replies, “I’m good at focusing on one thing at a time, in extreme depth,” but even when he repeatedly tries to answer questions, he still has an incredible ability to respond quickly, succinctly, without hesitation.

Born in Billericay and growing up in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, for a long time Osman was best known as Alexander Armstrong’s sidekick on BBC One’s Pointless, or for delivering us 8 Out Of 10 Cats on Channel 4. Since 2020 though, he’s the bloke who introduced Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim into our lives. And now the Thursday Murder Club gang are back for a fifth outing.

I’ve given them a year to recover and rest. Osman fondly refers to his characters as “four of his best friends,” noting that “they went through quite a lot.”

He adds that “for all of them, things have slightly changed.”

A distressed guest approaches the depressed detective Elizabeth and says, “Someone is trying to kill me.” The book opens with a wedding scene. “Can you assist me?”

What comes after a “huge amount of money” and “seemingly uncrackable code” intertwined with themes of friendship and loss.

Osman’s focus on the elderly, a group he describes as “incredibly wise but also invisible,” made them ideal detectives when it first appeared, what made the Thursday Murder Club stand out when it first came out. He is still fascinated by his older.

He says, “You are thinking a little bit more deeply about life and what it means, and what grief is and what the point of it all is” as he points out. He doesn’t worry about getting older, which is surprising given the difficulties of getting older.

Subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Gulp, for a curated list of popular stories, moving interviews, and popular lifestyle picks from The Mirror’s Audience U35 team, and get them delivered straight to your inbox for more stories like this.

He chuckles, “I’m essentially an 80-year-old woman in everything other than my frame,” he says with a smile. No one wants to experience grief, nor do we want to become ill. But we are exactly at that location… However, I like the idea of being older and being less judgmental about what other people think of me.

A Hollywood adaptation of the Thursday Murder Club novels was inevitable given that there were already more than 10 million copies of the books being sold.

Securing British legends Celia Imrie, Ben Kingsley, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren to portray the foursome in the Netflix film, helmed by Christopher Columbus, represents phenomenal casting, though Osman wasn’t concerned about having the stars influencing his mind whilst penning the next instalment.

No one, not even the mighty Helen Mirren, can knock Elizabeth out of my head, he retorts jovially, “because those characters are so ridiculously real, I know.” The consistently witty and compelling author, Osman, does have a slight resentment toward labels and imitators who frequently lead to success.

The series’ titles include The Man Who Died Twice, The Bullet That Missed, The Last Devil to Die, and The Impossible Fortune.

Some people may be off course due to such enormous success, but Osman, a father of two, has a work ethic unwavering. He advises, “Anytime someone has a hit is great, but it mustn’t deter you for longer than, say, five minutes.”

“Everything returns to sitting down and writing again, going back upstairs.” Without you writing the following book, nothing happens. I enjoy grafting. I enjoy getting paid, but I enjoy doing my day’s work.

His “really hard work,” he confesses with a chuckle, “really hard work” when his feline companions start hollering at him while hammered out upstairs at home, with the door firmly closed until they start yelling at him. He continues, “That’s a fairly simple job, I’m going to say.”

However, he claims that writing is “the thing I felt compelled to do.” That’s the thing I started with when I was 15 years old, and it’s what I’ll finish with as well.

The Impossible Fortune, a work by Richard Osman, is now available.
