‘I’m swapping my suitcase for Antler’s new lightweight backpack that makes travelling easier’

Antler’s new Discovery collection features a backpack/cabin case hybrid that’s both lightweight and roomy, and makes travel far easier

For years, I’ve been loyal to my trusty four-wheel suitcase; it’s reliable, sturdy and easy to use. However, after seeing and testing out Antler’s new Discovery 45L Backpack, I’m officially converted.

Designed as a hybrid between a backpack and a cabin case, this clever new launch makes travelling easier, lighter and way more flexible. It’s the ideal purchase for those who want the space and size of a suitcase, without the hassle of wheeling one around.

Whether you’re running for your flight through the airport, hopping on a train or even just on your morning commute, this lightweight backpack is a game-changer.

It’s practical without feeling too bulky, sleek and smart-looking enough to carry around on a city break, and durable enough for an outdoorsy holiday. Essentially, it’s a bag that does it all, and I can see it becoming my go-to for everything from weekends away to long-haul travel.

The backpack features fully adjustable straps and a supportive chest strap, ensuring the bag feels extra secure and helping even out the weight off your lower back. At £160, it’s on the pricier side for a backpack, but given that it essentially doubles up as a cabin suitcase and a backpack, I think the price is pretty fair.

Alongside the roomy interior (that opens up like a suitcase), it has a few clever extras, such as a large front pocket, quick-access side pockets, and hidden compartments for strap storage.

It’s fairly large, measuring 55 x 35 x 24 cm, which is the right size to fit the requirements of a paid cabin suitcase on airlines such as Jet2 and British Airways. However, it could easily work as a commuter backpack thanks to the padded laptop sleeve that fits extra-large laptops.

Thanks to the water-repellent, durable fabric, this backpack feels made for adventure holidays and outdoorsy trips. I’ve got a visit to the New Forest and Lake District coming up, and I can already tell this bag will be perfect for it. However, I can also see myself ditching my suitcase for this backpack altogether, even on longer trips.

In August, I travelled to Indonesia and Singapore with just a small backpack and a cabin suitcase. The suitcase ended up being more of a hassle than help. The carpeted terminals in Singapore made dragging it around almost impossible, and with short layovers, I needed to move quickly, which the suitcase definitely slowed down.

Of course, there will be times when a backpack won’t always cut it, and for those who struggle to carry around weight or need extra back support, it may not be the right choice.

However, this new Antler backpack feels like the solution to my suitcase struggles: lightweight, practical, and made for those on the go.

Coronation Street favourite quits soap and ‘cast have been informed’

Channique Sterling-Brown is reportedly set to leave Coronation Street after three years of starring as lawyer Dee Dee Bailey on the world’s longest running TV soap

Channique Sterling-Brown is reportedly set to leave Coronation Street. The actress, 28, has starred as lawyer Dee Dee Bailey on the world’s longest-running ITV soap since 2022, but is said to be bowing at out some point in the near future.

A source said: “Posters are up around the Corrie set behind the scenes, it is common knowledge that Channique is going, and cast have been informed,” reports The Express.

Prior to joining Coronation Street, Channique auditioned for the part of Naomi Waters on fellow ITV soap Emmerdale but but lost out to Karene Peter. She started her career by appearing in a host of short films and worked extensively in theatre across Manchester, where Coronation Street is filmed and set.

The character has been involved in a number of dramatic storylines over the years, and in recent months, viewers have watched her enter motherhood after giving birth to daughter Laila, who she had villain Joel Deering. But it’s been a tricky time for Dee Dee as she had intended to give the little one up and let her brother James adopt her, although she went back and forth on that decision over several weeks.

If Channique is set to depart Weatherfield, she will follow in a long list of residents from the famous backstreet to depart for pastures now. On Wednesday, viewers were in tears as Jenny Connor, played by Sally Ann Matthews, left for Tenerife almost 40 years after her debut. Emotional scenes with former foster mother Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) played out, and her exit came just months after Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) jetted off for sunnier shores after years of drama.

Colson Smith was axed from his role as PC Craig Tinker, and was killed off in a storyline that saw him murdered in the line of duty.

Channique previously noted that she had loved getting the chance to step onto the world-famous cobbles but struggled initially with becoming well-known.

“I’m very grateful for my job at Coronation Street, but it’s a strange thing having a platform when it’s come out of nowhere. Suddenly you get a role on TV and it changes your life,” she said.

“I’m not a perfect person, I’m just a girl from Manchester, but I think it’s my responsibility to use this profile I’ve got through Coronation Street to help and care for others.

“I feel grateful to be able to do that. These people might be on the other side of the world, but it’s about spreading the love.”

Fans of Dee Dee, the big-hearted lawyer, who came to the cobbles in 2022 as part of the Bailey clan – the first black family on the street – may feel these words have come straight from her mouth.

Like Dee-Dee, off-screen Channique is a committed Christian and was approached by Tearfund, a Christian charity that partners with churches in 50 of the world’s poorest countries, last year and invited to be an ambassador.

She said: “I loved the sound of a charity that was focussed on reaching people, teaching them, equipping them and empowering them. I loved the fact that it was through the church too.”

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s daughter breaks her silence after parents’ split

Nicole and Keith’s eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, has posted on social media for the first time since her parents filed for divorce

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, has returned to social media for the first time since her parents’ bombshell divorce got underway.

Nicole filed for divorce on Tuesday (30 September) after Keith allegedly refused to work on their marriage. Their model daughter Sunday Rose returned to work only a day later by walking for luxury clothing brand Christian Dior in Paris Fashion Week.

The 17-year-old posted a video and snap of her catwalk work on Instagram, her first post since her parents ‘ divorce was revealed. In the caption, she wrote: “J’adore dior”. Comments were turned off on the post, as they are for all of the model’s uploads. She also posted several stories from behind the scenes.

Following her shock divorce, Nicole was said to be holing up at home with her family. Court documents cited “irreconcilable differences” between her and Keith. The actress was said to be “blindsided” by Keith’s desire to end the marriage.

However, the soon-to-be exes already have a custody agreement in place that was signed in early September. The agreement states that Sunday Rose and her sister Faith Margaret, will live with Nicole for most of the year, and see their father every other weekend, Father’s Day and Thanksgiving.

According to a source close to Keith, Keith is worried about how his children will cope but promising to “stay on the wagon for their sake”. They said: “He’s not going to boohoo to people about his failed marriage. He’s worried about the kids and how they’re going to cope being from a broken home, but he promises he’s going to stay on the wagon for their sake. That is the truth, in my opinion.

Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, are Faith Margaret’s two younger siblings. Before meeting Keith, Nicole and Tom Cruise adopted the two. The actress claimed that because she was so “dependent” on Tom, Nicole and Tom’s divorce was messy.

Her divorce from Keith also appears to be turning nasty, as friends close to Nicole say that she is struggling to process rumours that Keith is already back in the dating world.

An insider claimed that “if it turns out that Keith is involved with another woman, Nic will experience the biggest humiliation.” She exerts every effort to maintain her youthful appearance. For both Keith and the screen. She used to ask him if she was still hot, and he would undoubtedly confirm that fact to her. But he appeared to be getting tired of her seeking reassurance.

Just before the divorce was revealed, Keith was filmed changing the lyrics to a song he wrote for Nicole to include his 25-year-old guitarist, Maggie Baugh. While performing The Fighter, instead of singing “Baby, I’ll be your fighter,” he sang “Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player”. The video was posted by the 25-year-old and some fans jumped into the comments to suggest this is the reason Nicole filed for divorce.

Jason Kelce’s wife Kylie bursts into tears as she shares miscarriage heartbreak

Seven years ago, just after returning from a trip to London, Kylie Kelce emotionally revealed that she miscarried on her husband Jason’s birthday.

Taylor Swift’s soon-to-be sister-in-law Kylie Kelce has bravely revealed she suffered a miscarriage on Jason’s birthday. Kylie stated that before her eldest child, Wyatt, was born, she had her first positive pregnancy test result in August 2018, and things seemed normal after visiting her doctor.

After everything appeared to be working, Kylie traveled to London to see Jason and the Eagles play. They shared the news of their pregnancy with their friends and family during this trip.

Kylie was supposed to be 12 weeks pregnant during the trip. She continued, “We made it a point to surprise Jason’s mom and dad when we were there by pretending to take pictures and letting them know what we were expecting.” She returned to see her doctor after discovering she had a “missed miscarriage.”

Kylie continued, “It seemed like everything was moving slowly,” while addressing the Not Gonna Lie podcast. Additionally, they were unable to locate the baby on the doppler. There isn’t a heartbeat, I recall being like, “Oh, there isn’t a heartbeat.” Because there isn’t one, you didn’t find one.

“They estimated that the baby’s development had stopped between, say, nine and ten weeks. In essence, I miscarried unchecked, as you would call it. Your body may have been unaware that your pregnancy was no longer a viable one.

Jason’s birthday was the reason it was a s***ty day. I called my mother and informed her that Jason’s birthday was the day he was born. This seems ridiculous. Because I’m going to tell my husband what happened, it seems very silly. I did, too. And it was difficult for both of us.

Wyatt, six, Elliotte, four, Bennett, two, and Finn, six months old, are the youngest of Kylie and Jason’s six children. However, when Jason and Kylie and they later tried for children, she found herself in a disadvantage due to her miscarriage. She claimed that “every subsequent pregnancy” had “messed with her brain.”

She made this decision after deciding to wait until she reached the 20-week mark before revealing her pregnancy to her partner at least 16 weeks prior. What was the average likelihood of a baby surviving, which sounds incredibly illogical to me. Kylie remarked, “I actually did it for Finn.”

When Kylie and Jason tied the knot just 18 months before the birth of their first child, Wyatt, they met on a dating app while attending Cabrini University in Pennsylvania in 2013.

When Jason announced his retirement in March after 13 NFL seasons, he made it clear that family was his main priority. He said: “[Kylie] has also given me three beautiful girls and a life that increasingly brings me more fulfilment off the field than it does on.

“I am a product of my upbringing. I think one of the best things a person can be in this world is a father. A father who is present, loving and devoted just might be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society.”

‘Tone deaf’ Taylor Swift sparks backlash over leaked lyrics from upcoming album

With the release of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift is about to make a musical comeback. Some of the lyrics have already been teased, which has sparked some unrest.

Taylor Swift isn’t a stranger when it comes to dropping little Easter eggs ahead of her album, and she has even teased snippets of lyrics from some of her new songs. The country-pop star is set to release her 12th studio album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3.

After almost a year, Taylor Swift is making a comeback to the music scene, releasing a total of 12 new songs, with only one collaboration, and it being none other than her supporting act and now a superstar herself, Sabrina Carpenter.

Ahead of its release, a Spotify experience took place in New York City on September 30, where Swifties got a glimpse of potential lyrics from some of the songs. It did add to fans’ excitement, but it also appeared to spark some controversy.

The album’s first lyric, written in a mirror with a peachy-orange lipstick, read, “Frequently it doesn’t feel so glamorous be me,” was seen by attendees at the event.

The lyrics were soon to appear on billboards in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York, specifically Times Square. The album also includes the lyrics “Everyone’s unbothered til they’re not,” “They don’t make loyalty like they used to,” “Keep it 100,” “You wanna skate on the ice inside my veins”?”, and “I heard you calling.”

Naturally, the lyrics that were leaked quickly became popular online. Although the lyrics’ and the associated tracks’ context are still unknown, netizens continued to share their opinions.

While some fans criticized the singer for being “tone deaf” and “cosplaying the struggle” of being the biggest pop star of the current generation, some alleged the singer was “cosplaying the struggle.”

Being the highest-paid popstar alive is “not so glamorous,” a netizen said. “Ok, I bet flying private to your 18th mansion must be rough.” Another commentator claimed that Taylor Swift was actually “cosplaying the struggle” when she co-hosted her Eras Tour, which earned less than $1,000. What an odd statement to make in light of the suffering experienced by the majority today.

One fan defended her, saying that “Those swifties are attacking anyone who dates theorise that the life of a showgirl might have some sad songs &amp, lyrics… well, “often it doesn’t feel so glamorous be me isn’t exactly the happiest line.”

One thing that’s for sure about Taylor Swift is that she thrives on controversy. The 14-time Grammy winner was officially declared a billionaire in 2024, thanks to the success and record-breaking Eras Tour, which grossed over $2 billion (£1.7 billion). According to Forbes, Taylor has an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion (£1.3 billion).

TV presenter and TikToker, 21, dies at home as family address ‘natural causes’

TV presenter and TikTok star Jennifer Nicole Rivas was found dead in her home on October 1, with her family addressing the devastating situation as tributes pour in

A 21-year-old TV presenter, Jennifer Nicole Rivas, tragically died at her home on October 1 after a suspected epileptic seizure. The star’s family confirmed that she had an underlying condition and authorities have stated her death was due to natural causes.

Her final Instagram post, shared with her followers on the day of her death on Wednesday, showed her standing in what appeared to be a pickleball court, paddle in hand, with the caption: “Getting ready.” She wore a white tennis skirt, light pink vest and white trainers.

News of her sudden death has sparked a wave of tributes on social media, with colleagues, friends, and followers expressing their sadness and praising her talents.

An autopsy was reportedly not carried out on the young woman’s body. Jennifer, who was studying journalism, was a well-known figure in Honduras, with a following of 100,000 on TikTok and 16,000 fans on Instagram.

She also worked as a presenter for Honduran TV channel CHTV and frequently collaborated with comedy group Los Venados 504, reports the Daily Star.

It comes after another death of a TikTok star. Zuza Beine tragically died at the age of 14 at the end of September, after leaving a tear-jerking final message for fans.

The influencer, who inspired millions with her cancer journey, tragically passed after more than a decade of battling leukemia. Zuza openly shared health updates on instagram and TikTok, along with “get ready with me” videos and dances with friends.

The Wisconsin-based influencer and her family started documenting her journey with cancer on the Instagram account @Zuzas_Way_To_Healing in 2020. The account gained almost 2million followers.

In a message to her supporters, her family said: “It is with broken hearts that we share that Zuza died yesterday morning.”

“She lived 11 of her 14 years with a relentless cancer, yet lived more fully and gratefully than most. Her being changed us forever, and her dying will too.”

Zuza was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, which starts in the bone marrow and moves into the blood. Though most cases affect adults, Zuza was diagnosed when she was only three-years-old.

She had beaten the illness five times before, having undergone bone marrow transplants and multiple rounds of chemotherapy.
