Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher to host Global Football Industry Awards

Former Liverpool FC teammates Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher will co-host the Global Football Industry Awards next month

They excelled on the pitch together and have since gone on to become beloved broadcasters, and now Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher are teaming up once again.

The former Liverpool FC players, who now delight fans with their podcasts and TV appearances, will reunite to host the inagural Global Football Industry Awards together next month.

Scheduled for Thursday 20 November 2025 in London, the ceremony will unite football’s most powerful business figures, trailblazers, and pioneers for an evening honouring the unrecognised champions propelling the sport’s transformation across the globe.

Carragher, who also assisted in establishing the occasion, alongside Crouch will spearhead the night’s festivities, showcasing the brands, institutions, and personalities revolutionising football through daring concepts, meaningful initiatives, and commercial breakthroughs.

“Football is so much more than what happens on the pitch – it’s built by people, partnerships, and ideas that often go unseen,” said Jamie Carragher.

“It’s time those efforts got the recognition they deserve. I’m looking forward to hosting the event and reuniting with Crouchy.”

In contrast to conventional football award ceremonies, the Global Football Industry Awards will shine a light on excellence beyond the pitch – across sectors including sponsorship, marketing, sustainability, grassroots development, diversity and inclusion, and investment in women’s football.

The Global Football Industry Awards will bring together football icons, industry leaders, emerging disruptors and community trailblazers from around the world.

Poised to become a significant new event in the football calendar, the Global Football Industry Awards will celebrate the work that is shaping the future of the sport, with a focus on innovation, inclusion, and impact.

Louis Tomlinson reveals whether One Direction will reunite after Liam Payne’s death

Louis Tomlinson opened up about Liam Payne’s heartbreaking death in a rare new interview and opened up on whether One Direction would reunite on stage without him

Louis Tomlinson has revealed whether there’s a possibility of One Direction reuniting for a tour without their late bandmate, Liam Payne, who died in October last year. Louis, who recently sat down for a rare interview, opened up about his life and touched upon the tragic death of his pal.

At one point, he said the remaining quartet simply couldn’t reunite without their departed brother. Louis shared: “Never say never, right, but I’m just not sure it would be right to him. Say for the sake of argument, 25 years’ time, it’s like a f***** Oasis thing, they offer us an arm and a leg, and they’re like, ‘Come back and do this many shows’.

“It’s just completely put a pin in all of that. And the irony is, there was no one campaigning for One Direction to get back more than Liam… I would say he [Liam] was the closest to being my brother.”

During a chat on The Diary Of A CEO, with presenter Steven Bartlett, Louis confessed he’s “still unpacking” One Direction’s break up in 2016 and “realising that the only way is down from here” as a solo performer, reports the Daily Star.

He also looked back on losing his mum Johannah Deakin to leukaemia in 2016, and remembered taking to the X Factor stage just three days after her passing, following her wishes.

He revealed: “I knew why she was telling me. She was telling me because she would’ve hated if something that happened to her affected my life and my career.

“I would do it again for her. I don’t think I’ll ever have a more challenging time in my life than those three and a half minutes on stage. I did it only for her.”

He also heartbreakingly lost his younger sister, Felicity, a few years afterwards. He expressed: “I couldn’t believe how deeply unlucky we’d been as a family.

“I felt angry at life and I felt angry on behalf of my family… I felt like I’d let my sister and my mum down.

“My mum said to me, the last couple of weeks of her life, she was like, ‘You better promise me you’ll look after your sisters… Especially Felicity, you know she’s fragile’.”

The interview also had more upbeat moments as he mentioned being in “love” with new girlfriend Zara McDermott and also feeling positive about his life now.

He said: “I’m a deeply, deeply romantic person. It’s also easy to to be romantic when you are a creative. I really struggle to write in a fictional sense, I really struggle.

“For me, I have to have been living it, it has to be real to me. So if I wasn’t feeling so good, like right now, I wasn’t feeling so in love…the record probably would have a slightly different feel to it.”

What was Stephen Fry was in prison for? Celebrity Traitors star recalls teen jail stint

Stephen Fry spoke about his time in prison as a teenager whilst opening up on the Celebrity Traitors this evening, admitting he was a ‘troubled child’

Sir Stephen Fry has opened up about his time in prison during the first episode of the Celebrity Traitors. When asked about his knighthood, the presenter branded himself a “troubled child” and spoke about his stint inside.

While on The Celebrity Traitors, Stephen, 68, was asked by Niko Omilana, a YouTuber, what it was like to be knighted. He responded: “My mother was there and given what a dreadful child I was – I went to prison and things like that – it was like this troubled child has been less of a disgrace.”

While Stephen’s presenting and acting career is well-known, his early life as a “dreadful child” is less publicised. However, he has previously discussed his prison spell on the Diary of a CEO podcast.

He revealed that he felt “lost and adrift” and that led him down the path to prison. During his teenage years, he was expelled from numerous schools and by the age of 17, he was incarcerated for credit card fraud and sent to Pucklechurch Prison, now known as HMP Ashfield, near Bristol.

Stephen shared how he’d stolen a coat from a pub and realised there was a wallet with two credit cards in it inside. “They were very easy to fraudulently use,” he explained. He added that he began “embarking on a countrywide spending spree” before being apprehended by the police.

Despite the rough start, Stephen has built a successful career in the entertainment industry. Among others, the star has worked on the hit BBC comedy Blackadder, hosted quiz show QI, and been in The Hobbit series.

He was knighted earlier in the year by King Charles III for his work in three key areas, including environmental conservation, his charity work and mental health awareness.

Last year, Stephen reflected on being bipolar. He was diagnosed with the condition aged 37. The diagnosis was a moment of clarity for the star, who struggled with his mental health for years, surviving three suicide attempts. He called himself the “victim of my own moods”.

“I am the victim of my own moods, more than most people are perhaps, in as much as I have a condition which requires me to take medication so that I don’t get either too hyper or too depressed to the point of suicide.”

This is not Stephen’s only health battle. In 2018, Stephen battled prostate cancer and later spoke about how the long-term effects were harder than he anticipated.

He told Radio 4: “I wish that I’d known that it would take so long to get over it all. I don’t mean the actual physical recuperation and convalescence. I mean that it takes a long time to leave you, cancer.”

Victoria Beckham’s olive branch to son Brooklyn at Netflix premiere despite his snub

Fashion designer and Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham, thanked her son, Brooklyn, at the Netflix premiere of her new documentary amid their family feud

Victoria Beckham extended an olive branch to her son, Brooklyn Beckham, during the Netflix premiere of her documentary despite him and his wife, Nicola Peltz, being a no-show at the special event. Her other children, Cruz, Romeo and Harper, were by her side on Wednesday evening as they posed for pictures on the red carpet.

She held hands with her husband, David, before walking into the Curzon Mayfair cinema. Other guests included her Spice Girls pals, best friend Eva Longoria, Richard E Grant, Tilly and Tana Ramsay and Juergen Teller. However, Posh Spice’s estranged son Brooklyn and his socialite wife opted to skip the family affair.

Despite the snub, Victoria, 51, made sure to thank the aspiring chef and former aspiring photographer in her opening speech.

Speaking on stage, she said: “I’d like to thank the Spice Girls, Geri, Emma, Melanie and Melanie, I love you so much and thank you so much; my children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper and David.”

When the crowd laughed at Victoria implying David was her child, she gasped: “Oh my God, he’s not a child! I was doing so well without cards as well. It’s taken me this process to be proud of what I’ve achieved and to realise finally that I am enough.”

Nepo baby couple Brooklyn and Nicola managed around five seconds on screen in the new Netflix series as they were shown arriving for Victoria’s fashion show in 2024 in Paris shortly before the rift began.

It is a heartbreaking glimpse of the son Victoria and David are now estranged from following a rift which has continued throughout 2025.

One TV source told us: “He is included in the series so there is no question of him being left out, but some people will miss him on screen, it is that brief a cameo.

“Victoria was not in charge of the edit and has spoken of giving up creative control on the project. But perhaps this is another olive branch to make sure he is involved in some small way.

“She and David would surely love him to be more involved with the family if she ever makes another TV series.”

The three-part documentary series, airing tomorrow, centres around Victoria preparing for the fashion show of her life in Paris last year. It also features stories and footage beginning from the teenager who restyled her school uniform, to the Spice Girl who fought to be accepted by a notoriously demanding fashion industry.

Kate Garraway steals The Traitors best dressed title in 2-in-1 coat you can shop for £45

The Traitors episode one saw the celebs turn out in their best tartan looks– and Kate Garraway won the best dressed title

The wait is finally over: Celebrity The Traitors kicked off on BBC tonight, and if the dramatic castle setting wasn’t enough to grab our attention, the fashion certainly was. The contestants arrived in full Highland style, with tartan and heritage checks stealing the show. Cat Burns opted for a statement check bomber coat and chunky boots, while Ruth Codd leaned into the theme with a classic red checked blazer jacket that gave major autumn style inspiration.

But it wasn’t Claudia Winkleman for once who really stood out amongst the famous crowd– it was Kate Garraway. Wearing an incredibly chic 2-in-1 scarf coat in what we’re predicting will become the top colour pairing for autumn– teal and chocolate brown– that viewers can actually shop on the high street, her look had us all immediately googling where to find the piece.

Though the coat looks just like Boohoo’s 2 in 1 Scarf Check Wool Look Coat, on sale for £45 and incredibly still in stock, we believe it may be New Zealand brand The Iconic’s pricer Harriet Check Long Wool Coat. Until Kate confirms for sure, we’re bagging that Boohoo piece while it’s still stocked, because it’s the best high street alternative we’ve spotted in a long time.

The coat pairs a rich chocolate and blue check pattern with a woven wool-look fabric that gives it structure and visual texture without feeling rigid. It features a built-in scarf element, so you get that layered styling edge without having to add extra pieces. The silhouette is slightly tailored through but with enough ease to go over jumpers or light layering.

Button fastenings keep the front clean and classic, while the length hits around mid-thigh- long enough to feel stylish but short enough to work with skirts or trousers. All told, it blends drama and practicality — perfect for a show where style speaks just as loudly as strategy.

John Lithgow ‘transfigures’ into Albus Dumbledore in first pictures on Harry Potter set

Hollywood actor John Lithgow looked completely unrecognisable as he filmed scenes as Professor Albus Dumbledore on the windy beaches of Cornwall this week

Hollywood actor John Lithgow showcased his incredible ‘transfiguration’ abilities as he filmed scenes as Professor Albus Dumbledore for the upcoming Harry Potter series.

The 79-year-old star was pictured as the headmaster of Hogwarts for the very first time as he filmed scenes on the windy beaches of Cornwall. He wore the professor’s iconic long white hair and beard, dark wizarding robes, and thin glasses.

John, who follows in the footsteps of Richard Harris and Michael Gambon for the new series, was deep in character as he stood by the water with cast and crew at work nearby before clutching his waist and looking seemingly in pain.

At one moment, the crew filmed John from above as people used a wind machine and held up cue cards with spells written on them. The actor, who played Winston Churchill in The Crown, read his lines from a script in between takes.

Irish actor Richard Harris originally played Dumbledore, but died after The Chamber of Secrets wrapped filming. He was soon replaced by Michael Gambon, who died in 2023.

Speaking about landing the ‘surprise’ role, John said: “I just got the phone call up at the Sundance Film Festival, and it was not an easy decision because it’s going to define me for the last chapter of my life. I’m afraid.

“But I’m very excited. Some wonderful people are turning their attention back to Harry Potter. That’s why it’s been such a hard decision. I’ll be about 87 years old at the wrap party, but I’ve said yes.”

Meanwhile, Warwick Davis has reprised his role of Professor Filius Flitwick in the new Harry Potter series. He will be joined alongside new cast members, including Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, and William Nash as Gregory Goyle.

It was previously announced that Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter in the series, whereas Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. Elsewhere, Arabella Stanton will step into the role of Hermione Granger.

Sirine Saba will play Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden will star as Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan will be stepping into the role of Madam Poppy Pomfrey.

Hot Fuzz star Nick Frost has taken on the role of loveable Hagrid. After seeing pictures of Nick on set, original Harry Potter director Chris Columbus questioned the motive behind the new series.

“Part of me was like, what’s the point? Part of me was like, okay, great. I thought everything was going to be different, but it’s more of the same, which is interesting,” he said.
