Meg Matthews, Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife, has confirmed that she will be attending Oasis’ concert in London while posting a number of retro-coup photos.

Meg Matthews is still reaching out to her ex, Noel Gallagher just hours ahead of Oasis’ epic comeback gig. Fans can’t wait for the Don’t Look Back In Anger stars to take to the stage in Cardiff tonight when Liam and Noel will perform on stage together for the first time in 16 years.

Every day this week, Meg, 59, has been posting throwback snaps of her and Noel, 58, on Instagram amid reports the pair, who split up in 2001 after four years of marriage, may be giving things another go. Meg has denied the rumours, however, she did confirm she would be going to Oasis’ gig in London while interacting with the band’s fans.

She posted a slew of old photos of her and Noel larking around in a club on Instagram today, saying, “Today IS THE DAY 4th July 2025 Finally here… Britpop, or OASIS REUNION TOUR, was a British musical and cultural movement that reached its peak in the mid-1990s, dominating American grunge and British guitar pop.

Celebrating British identity, working-class roots, and daily life, it was not just a genre, but a reactionary and patriotic cultural response.

“To everyone who walks on the stage at 8:15 pm will be a piece of history,” said one audience member.

She continued, “That night was a lot of fun, I can’t recall what after party gig it was, but there was always one that I was in charge of organizing through @creationrecords money and there was no limit to fun back then.”

A fan asked Meg if she would be at her first London date, and she responded with “Yes” when she responded to one of her most recent throwback posts.

In the week leading up to Oasis’ long-awaited tour, which starts tonight in Wales, Meg has been sharing fond memories of her romantic relationship with Noel.

She shared sweet snaps of her and Noel from the early 1990s and early 2000s on Thursday to start the countdown to the kick-off.

She gushed, “DAY 2 COUNT DOWN,” in a caption. What song will serve as the opening act? What do you think of the comments below?

Noel and Meg tied the knot in Las Vegas in June 1997, and they welcomed their daughter Anais, who is reportedly attending tonight’s Cardiff show.

Noel later wed Sara McDonald, who he is currently also divorcing, after only four years of dating.

Oasis are back in just a few hours’ time – and fans are still desperate to grab themselves some last minute tickets. Demand was unprecedented for the band’s reunion gigs, which will see Noel and Liam Gallagher on stage together for the first time in years.

Fans have flocked to Principality Stadium in Cardiff already to be the first in line at Oasis’ reunion but those hoping to get last minute tickets have been warned that they need to be careful over ticket scammers.

Oasis have enlisted Twickets as the official online resale partner and at the time of writing, there are no tickets available for tonight or tomorrow night’s gigs in Cardiff. Twickets has been used by many stars to allow for safe resale of unwanted tickets.

Explaining their mantra, Twickets said: “Twickets is an ethical ticket resale marketplace, enabling users to sell spare tickets at the price they paid, or less. We have partnered with Oasis as their official ticket resale platform to protect fans from being ripped off by profiteering resale sites that encourage ticket touting. Liam has also been speaking about the band ahead of the reunion. Asked what makes a great frontman, he said: “I mean being able to sing is good. Just getting on with your job and doing it, and trying to get a vibe going and looking cool.”

On their Oasis reunion tour, Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher will play tonight at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, but Yue Xiong, a fan, claims she won’t be able to attend.

A fan has been left “heartbroken” and said she opted to sell her ticket for the opening night of Oasis’ reunion tour after seeing a now-deleted post on social media from Liam Gallagher. She’s spoken out ahead of the gig tonight.

Just days ahead of the show at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Liam, 52, faced a backlash for using a racial slur on X recently. Fans were quick to react over his use of the offensive term, which is used to mock or imitate languages spoken in China, people from east Asia or of east Asian descent, with one person responding to him: “Liam, you can’t say that.”

Liam apologized for any offence caused by the tweet after the incident. He remarked, “Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn’t intentional. I love you all and don’t practice any discrimination. Love and be happy with LG x.

Despite his apology, some fans are still upset. They include Yue Xiong, 23, who is originally from Shanghai in China but now lives in London, told WalesOnline that she had been a fan of the band since she was 16. She even told the outlet that their music had “saved” her life.

However, Yue criticized Liam’s statement as being “completely unacceptable.” The student from Goldsmiths claimed that she had made a decision to sell her ticket before the Oasis Live ’25 Tour, which will begin in Cardiff tonight.

She made the trip to protest in the city on Thursday. She continued, “I’ve been I’ve been a huge fan since 2017” Oasis was the only song I ever heard throughout my teenage years because it really saved my life.

Yue continued, “But I kind of stopped being a fan two days ago because what Liam said was absolutely unacceptable. I was unable to deal with it because I was Asian and Chinese, and I had to accept what he was saying.

Simply put, I am unable to take part in that any longer. Otherwise, it will disrespect my own hometown where I am from.

Yue continued to express her disappointment over Liam’s remarks, saying, “I felt people had to speak up about it. So it only adds more pressure to everything if no one talks about it. But I felt the need to make a comment. Someone who uses an extremely racial language to target an Asian community on social media is not permitted to say something offensive.

She claimed that after the incident, she made the decision to sell her ticket on Wednesday as a “gest gesture” two days before the concert. She claimed to the publication that she would have been “completely heartbroken” had she purchased her ticket.

Yue mentioned to the outlet she had met Noel Gallagher several times and issued an apology to the musician for missing the show. She shared that she still admires him and his work.

However, she said, “It was not sincere,” when describing Liam’s apology. Really, it wasn’t an apology. Because of what he said, which he said was very controversial, and when people pointed it out, he said, “Whatever,” I believe it to be more of a PR strategy. He didn’t think it was a problem. The tweet was then deleted by him. Therefore, he makes the decision to say that in that manner without exception.

Yue announced she wouldn’t attend the concert, but the day before the performance, she stood in protest in Cardiff. She stated, “The C-word is not acceptable in any circumstances,” when explaining her motivation.

The media would support transgender people if Liam used the N-word or used it in any way. However, it seems as though making fun of the Asian community in that way is acceptable.

Yue told the outlet: “[The protest] is not coming out as an attack to Oasis but it’s about defending our own right – it’s about speaking up for our own community. It’s about making the world right again.”

She continued, “My partner, who is white, friends, and industry figures, found it unacceptable.” They were only slightly surprised because no one had any comment. I’ve been speaking with a lot of people in the fan groups for the Chinese culture. They are heartbroken and completely destroyed.

A representative for Oasis declined to comment when contacted by the Mirror.

As the footballing world mourns the loss of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva, heartbreaking details have emerged about the Liverpool star’s final hours

The football world has been rocked by the tragic death of Diogo Jota, who passed away at what should have been an exciting turning point in his life.

Liverpool forward Diogo, 28, died in a horrific car crash alongside his younger brother and fellow footballer, Andre Silva, 26. The two talented brothers were travelling in a Lamborghini, which spun off the road and burst into flames close to the historic Spanish city of Zamora.

A newly married father of three, Diogo was dedicated to his family and stellar sporting career. His journey through northwest Spain should have been one filled with hope, with a bright new chapter opening up before him.

Sadly, the siblings never made it back to the UK as planned. Instead, fans and teammates alike are today mourning the loss of two gifted young men with everything to live for.

Here, the Mirror looks at the final tragic days of Portuguese icon Diogo, and the cruel twist of fate ahead of what should have been a triumphant return to the UK.

Those watching Diogo play in the last few weeks of his life may well have had no idea that he was dealing with a little-known health issue, which has now been confirmed by his physiotherapist.

Ever the “unparalleled professional”, Diogo continued to give his all to the beautiful game, despite suffering from an problem known as pneumothorax – or collapsed lung.

Physio Miguel Goncalves, who saw Diogo just five hours before the crash, said the footballer was so keen to ensure Liverpool won their second Premier League title, he delayed his pneumothorax surgery. He also longed to play in Portugal’s Nations League game against Spain in June, which his country ended up winning on penalties.

And in a heartbreaking twist of fate, it has now been revealed that Diogo had been advised against flying after undergoing lung surgery, and so he and Andre had intended to sail back to England together.

At the time of the tragedy, the brothers were driving towards Santander, via an overnight stop off in Benavente. They had planned to take a ferry back to Portsmouth, then on to Liverpool.

CNN Portugal’s Rui Laura explained. “He was on his way to the northern Spanish port city of Santander to cross the ferry and reach the UK that way, and carry on with the car once he reached Britain. He was on his way to Liverpool with his brother.”

Diogo had been returning to Liverpool after spending time in his home country of Portugal. On June 8, he’d stepped in as a sub in the national squad’s penalty shootout victory over Spain in the Nations League final. Next week, Liverpool team members are due back at their Melwood training ground, with the pre-season kicking off on Tuesday, July 8.

Diogo’s physio Mr Goncalves, who works primarily at a Porto hospital, shared how the two brothers had chosen to make their fateful car journey in the evening as the weather would be cooler. He added: “I said goodbye to him and his brother, Andre, at around 8:30 pm.

“His brother was a great companion and decided to go with him, to accompany him on the trip, and that way they would also spend more time together. They were going to travel at night because it was cooler, but they weren’t going direct.”

In an interview with Portuguese outlet Record, Mr Goncalves revealed: “Diogo was very aware of his professionalism. They were only supposed to arrive in Santander today (Thursday, July 3), catch the boat and then go to England.

“The family would arrive later by plane, organise their lives over the weekend and then, on Monday, they had a medical appointment scheduled in Liverpool to assess the situation.”

He continued: “He made an extraordinary recovery, he was undoubtedly an unparalleled professional. He strictly followed what I told him, as you could see in the way he was recovering.

“The base of his right lung had collapsed a little, but with the post-surgery physiotherapy, he was practically flawless. When I left him yesterday, he was no longer in pain and was going to return to Liverpool. He was excited, confident in his recovery and enthusiastic about the next season.”

Mr Goncalves has also hit back at inaccurate rumours he’s seen circulating on social media, which suggest Diogo and Andre had been partying before their tragic deaths. Setting the record straight, he clarified: “To be clear, Diogo and Andre weren’t partying at all.”

In the hours before the devastating crash, Jota also spoke to Gondomar SC president Alvaro Cerqueira in a heartbreaking phone call. The Liverpool star started his career with Gondomar at the tender age of nine.

Cerqueira told JN: “It was just after 10pm last night [Thursday], we were on the phone and he was fine. We spoke almost every week, and I know he was going through a happy moment. When Diogo needed to train during the off-season, he would ask to come here, and we would always make everything available.

“His brother would usually come too, and they would both train. It is difficult to talk at a time like this, but what will remain is the image of two very humble people, who leave a huge void.”

Meanwhile, just 11 days before his untimely death, Diogo married his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, in a ceremony held in his home city of Porto.

In those final hours, the couple were still very much the image of newlywed bliss, sharing beautiful snaps from their special day via Instagram.

Gorgeous photos shared on the app show the former teenage sweethearts beaming from ear to ear in front of a church altar. Rute wore a fairytale-esque ivory dress and flowing veil, while groom Diogo beamed in his suit.

In one photo, the devoted parents are stood alongside by their three children, Dinis, born February 2021; Duarte, born March 2023; and a third child, welcomed in December 2024, whose name has not been publicly announced.

Another image shows Diogo and Rute making their way down the church steps amid a flurry of confetti. Looking back on the “day we’ll never forget”, the couple promised “June 22, 2025. Yes to forever”, in a now-poignant caption.

Mere hours before the tragedy, Diogo uploaded a video filled with special moments from their big day, which included footage of carefree guests dancing the night away.

The clip is introduced with the following voiceover: “Dear Rute, Dear Diogo, today is a day that will mark your lives for the rest of your days.

“This is the only day that you have been able to get together, at the same time, in the same place. Your family, your friends. To celebrate what truly matters, which is love.”

Now, loved ones will gather once more for a far more sombre occasion. Diogo and Andre’s wake will take place today (July 4) in São Cosme, with the funeral scheduled for 10 am tomorrow, held at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar.
