Gareth Thomas admits being sent death threats after sharing HIV diagnosis

After kicking off a pub with his husband following his HIV diagnosis, Gareth Thomas has revealed the heartbreaking remarks he has received.

At the Chelsea Flower Show, Gareth Thomas and his wife Stephen.

Former rugby player Gareth Thomas invited his family to share his debut garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, admitting his HIV diagnosis is “hard for my whole family”. Husband Stephen Williams-Thomas finds he is praised as a “great man” for marrying the star.

Gareth says unflinchingly, “You’re a faulty good.” Gareth, 50, endures negative comments, including about him helping in the kitchen, despite the fact that the couple own a pub called Ty-risha in Bridgend.

In the event Gareth peels the chips, someone said, “I’m not going there for food.” And I thought, “Well, why wouldn’t he come here?” in the event that he cuts his finger.

That is a discriminatory statement, but it is merely due to his ignorance and lack of knowledge. Gareth, whose flower show features the Tackle HIV Challenging Stigma garden, claims to remain “behind the bar.”

“I’m fully hands on,” he says. “There’s interaction with society, the bar is almost like a security. “I can pull the perfect pint, though some people actually said to me that it looked like a map of the world when I tried to do a shamrock.”

The Welsh rugby union star was diagnosed with HIV in 2012, and revealed to the Sunday Mirror that he had contracted the virus in an emotional interview in 2019.

But he discovers that whenever he talks about the problem, he is subject to more discrimination. Gareth has received death threats for his efforts to end HIV stigma, but he still believes in his campaigning role.

People scream in my face, he says, but I see it as an opportunity for them to learn. It’s never solved if someone approaches you with hatred and you turn around with it.

Hatred can lead to more hostility, the saying goes. If someone approaches me with hatred and I return with love, the person’s hatred is almost gone.

“And I don’t want to be the person who returns with hatred,” she said. I want to stand up for the neighborhood. He continues, “Sadly, we live in a world where I must constantly evaluate my surroundings.” I can now count on my family to support me.

“But I put everything into playing rugby. So I put everything into being a campaigner as I did through my rugby. I have that mentality. If you make me the underdog, then I’ll come back until you make me the favourite. I want to be an example.”

Last week, his parents and his partner, Stephen, made a VIP visit to his garden. Gareth claimed that running water was crucial for him in order to replicate the impact that nature had had on him when he was struggling with his diagnosis.

When I was suicidal, he said, “nature saved me.”

Pixie Lott pregnant with second child as she makes huge announcement on stage

Pixie Lott has revealed that she is expecting her second child. The chart-topping performer made the big announcement while performing at Brockwell Park, London’s Mighty Hoopla Festival.

The singer, who already has a two-year-old son Albert, said, “I’m having another baby”! When the 34-year-old dropped the significant news, thousands of fans were gathered close to the stage to watch her performance on the Hayu Arena stage. The singer appeared sensational on stage while sporting a bold red blazer and matching tie and toned legs.

One post read, “Pixie Lott announcing she is pregnant at Hoopla was so mother, was so shock and joy. I’m unable to handle it. A second phrase, “I believe Pixie Lott just announced her pregnancy in the middle of her song at Hoopla,” is similar to Beyoncé’s confirmation of pregnancy at the VMAs.

Pixie Lott recently showed off an oversized t-shirt while performing on stage with her blossoming bump (Pixie Lott/ Instagram).

However, Pixie’s second pregnancy, which she kept secret until she was 31 weeks pregnant, is completely different. She showed off her enormous baby bump on Instagram in June of 2023 while sharing a tender kiss with Oliver while sporting a black bra and leggings.

We are “overjoyed” to learn that we are expecting our first child, and we are looking forward to starting our own families, she said. On the day’s lineup, she joined JADE, Ciara, Mutya Buena, Jamelia, and The Vengaboys.

Pixie, who is married to model Oliver Cheshire, has recently performed at various festivals across the country. The blonde pop singer chose to wear an oversized white t-shirt as she belted out some of her biggest hits at the London Foodies Festival, and her blossoming baby bump proudly stood out.

Pixie and Oliver first met at a Select Model catwalk event in 2010, and they eventually got married in 2022. The couple gave birth to Albert in October of that year.

However, the couple only made the announcement after his christening. The Boy and Girls hitmaker posted the photo on social media as “Albert Charles Cheshire.” We consider you to be the most amazing person of our lives, and you have given us the best of luck.

She is pleased to learn that Pixie recently revealed that she was getting ready to work and was working on more music. That’s not all, though. I adore music documentaries because they are so fascinating. She said, “I love when you can actually see the behind-the-scenes stuff,” so I think that would be really fun to do it.

ten years after Pixie released her self-titled record, Encino was released last year, making this her fifth studio album. And it seems as though she has kept her promise to release music for a while.

The Mama Do singer, who previously appeared in the Mirror, said: “I’m so happy to be back with an album and music as my main focus.” Pixie is now in full control and acknowledges that, given this background, she is not working at her own pace and is operating at her own speed.

Although it may seem as though Pixie’s debut single Mama Do was an overnight hit, the singer had been quietly working since the age of 14 after initially working for L. A. Reid’s record label before moving over to Mercury Records in the UK. She wrote songs for Selena Gomez and Alexandra Burke here. She exclaimed, “I was ready to go years before [the first release],” adding, “I was very impatient, hungry, and ready to go.” It burned really slowly when it finally came out, before moving really quickly.

Miley Cyrus took on mum Tish’s ‘hurt’ after Billy Ray Cyrus split and painful divorce

After spending 30 years together, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish, who were both living together for 30 years, opened up about being caught in the middle of their union and relationship.

Miley Cyrus has explained why she left her parents’ challenging relationship, which Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, for good. The 32-year-old singer and actress has stated that she now understands her parents’ lives and actions differently.

After two years of marriage, Miley claims she experienced some of the pain her mother experienced as Tish and Billy Ray struggled in their marriage. In 2020, she divorced her husband, Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, 35. Billy Ray, the achy Breaky Heart singer, and Tish, the manager, tied the knot in 1993.

However, Miley believes the music industry may have contributed to the romance’s demise. The marriage ended in 2023. Miley’s family allegedly became distant from her father after the marriage ended, according to records.

After years of separation, the Flowers singer now feels like she can examine her father’s actions in a new light because he has since reconnected with her after years of separation. The actress revealed in a recent interview how her thoughts are evolving.

She told the New York Times, “I respect my parents as individuals rather than as parents because my mom really loved my dad her entire life, and I think it’s really difficult to be married to someone in the music industry and not to be a part of it.”

Miley continued to explain how her mother’s sympathy for her caused her to “take on” some of her feelings. She said, “I owned a lot of my mom’s pain because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and I took on some of her pain.”

The actress from Hannah Montana continued to say she is happy to see her father moving on as well as that she has a strong bond with her mother’s new husband, Dominic Purcell. In April, Billy Ray made headlines when he revealed that he had started dating Elizabeth Hurley.

Miley also explained that she isn’t fazed by the fact that her family drama can lead to headlines. She said: “The thing I like about the new way that the world works is that everything is so fast. In the ’90s, when something happened in a tabloid, remember how it would happen for a year? Now it’s just gone.”

She explained she has “gotten so used to it that I’m like, ‘ If this is the symptom — that sometimes we deal with these embarrassing or difficult public opinions — then that’s something I’m willing to take to have the life that we have. ‘”

Billy Ray and Tish divorced after 30 years in 2023 and went on to find new love, with Tish marrying Dominic that same year. While Billy Ray is said to be happy with British acting icon Elizabeth, he did endure a difficult relationship in the intervening years.

He was married to Australian singer Johanna Rose Hodges, who performs under the name Firerose. The pair tied the knot in October 2023 after a year of dating, and had also reportedly known each other for 10 years.

Firerose had worked on the set of Hannah Montana, with Billy Ray meeting her through the fact that his daughter was the star of the show. But the marriage collapsed last year, and they filed for divorce in May 2024. The divorce was finalised in August last year.

Akon’s Afrobeats Remarks Is Half-Truth, Like Saying Mungo Park Discovered River Niger – ID Cabasa

Olumide Ogunlade, a popular musician from Nigeria and known as ID Cabasa, has compared Akon’s recent assertions about the origin of the pioneering Afrobeats to the colonial-era claim that Mungo Park discovered the River Niger.

Cabasa made the statement while speaking on the ongoing debate over the origin and ownership of the Afrobeats genre on Sunday’s edition of Rubbin’s on Channels Television.

He clarified that Akon’s significant influence on the global stage did not imply that it was the genre’s creator.

What Akon said, in my opinion, was a bit of a half-truth. Mungo Park claims to have found the Niger and Benue but also to have met there–but-he met people there.

You’re claiming to have discovered a sound that had already attracted him (Akon), and it’s true? That is how it sounds. The producer claimed that even the people he mentioned were already booming and engaged in activity.

Akon claimed in an interview with Sherri Shepherd and on the podcast BagFuel Brigade that he had a significant impact on the development of Afrobeats in early May.

The music executive attributed the genre’s success to his early collaborations with Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Banky W in the late 2000s and early 2010.

How the government can safeguard the rights of Nigerian music from pirates, Harrysong,

Afrobeats’ international success was largely attributed to Akon, who had introduced business structures that were previously unheard of in the Nigerian music scene.

ID Cabasa claimed that the genre was already flourishing prior to the Senegalese’s involvement, which is an overstatement in contrast to Akon’s acknowledgement of Afrobeats’ contribution to global promotion.

He said, “Akon did not offend me; I had to respond.” By the way, Akon deserves a shout out. Everyone should respect him, but we must be cautious. It’s a topic that comes up in conversation with Afrobeats if there is anything we can leave as a legacy for Nigeria and Africa.

He (Akon) did have his own marketing and marketing responsibilities for some of these guys at the time, which contributed to the expansion of Afrobeats.

Some of his statements, such as saying that he came and nurtured people, were too heavy. You already knew there was a sound or something that drew you in. You contributed to it and were met here. In the same way, I’m against telling people I made Afrobeats.

Risk of losing one’s identity

Further speaking, Cabasa expressed concern about Afrobeats’ growing influence from the West and warned that Nigerian artists might be losing their cultural appeal in an effort to win over international fans.

The diaspora effect has a good part. Many young Nigerian producers are learning new techniques to enhance production quality. However, I’m concerned about losing our identity.

“We are now sounding more like R&amp, B, while the West is now sounding more like Afrobeats.” That is the real issue. It’s frightful. He said, “I almost believe we’ve already lost some of it.”

He lamented that many Afrobeats stars now work abroad and make money in foreign countries, and the genre runs the risk of eroding too far from its roots.

“I keep doing what I’m doing, reimagining classics,” to remind the newest generation of artists not to lose themselves. Don’t change who you are just to fit in, he said.

Reimagining the classics of Nigeria

Numerous Nigerian artists have recently been reimagining classics, including Tems with Seyi Sodimu’s “Love Me Jeje,” Rema with Sade’s “Is It a Crime,” Burna Boy with Soul II Soul’s “Back to Life,” and Joeboy with Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

Olufunmi and 9ice’s “Photocopy” are both reimagined by ID Cabasa for Styl-Plus.

According to the current trend of sampling and reviving old Nigerian hits, Cabasa cited singer Olamide’s suggestion as the source of inspiration for these.

“I had a conversation with Olamide,” she said. We were discussing how foreigners are trying to sabotage the Afrobeats narrative, which they claim has been shaped and named.

Olamide said, “Maybe we should bring back the sounds that shaped this thing,” according to Olamide. He said, “I created an entire body of work around that idea because it had a resonance with me.”

He praised contemporary musicians like Tems for bringing classics back to a new audience and said that listening to old music preserves our culture.

“Love Me Jeje,” which was originally written by Seyi Sodimu in 1999, is a cultural triumph. It is a tale. The familiarity and emotional connection are brought by sampling. Why not resurrect our extensive musical collection rather than sampling new music? Cabasa made a comment.

He also urged the Nigerian music industry to take greater care in preserving Afrobeats’ essence.
