Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix drops out of Blackpool special over injury

Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix is set to miss this weekend’s Blackpool special after suffering an injury. The drag queen, real name Christopher Dennis, made it through to next week’s show with her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec after performing a Couple’s Choice to Don’t Rain On My Parade by Barbara Streisand.

While La Voix was set to perform in Strictly’s highly-anticipated Blackpool special, Strictly has announced that they are unable to compete after injuring herself. A show spokesperson said in a statement: “Due to injury, La Voix has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance in this weekend’s Blackpool specials.

“In line with the rules of Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix and Aljaž will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. We wish La Voix the very best for a speedy recovery.”

La Voix will not be performing on Saturday night after suffering an injury

La Voix added that they are withdrawing from the weekend’s shows with “immense sadness”. They added: “Due to an injury, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue.

“Aljaž and I have worked incredibly hard, and we were so excited to share our routine with everyone. I am devastated not to be joining the rest of the cast on that famous dancefloor, but my focus now is on recovery.”

La Voix added that they will be “cheering on all the amazing couples this weekend” as they dance in Blackpool. Last weekend’s show saw La Voix make it into the top half of the leaderboard, receiving an impressive score of 33 from the judges.

They are currently trailing behind Alex Kingston, Lewis Cope and Amber Davies – who is at the top of the leaderboard. On Sunday night, fans watched as Vicky Pattison became the latest star to be eliminated from the competition, having received a score of 27 for her Jive to Girls Aloud’s Sound of the Underground.

The ex Geordie Shore star landed in the bottom two with EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal, however the judges unanimously chose to save Balvinder after the dance-off. Vicky said during the results show: “It was so lovely while it lasted, and I’ve had the nicest time. I knew this week was a difficult one for me, and I tried my hardest as I have every week.

“Listen, I didn’t think I’d get past week one. And I’m really honoured to have shared this experience with so many amazing people. Mostly with this fella [Kai] right here. I don’t want to sound too cheesy but [to Kai] you’ve been the best partner a girl can ask for.

“I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner and I’m so grateful.”

This weekend’s specials will see four ex stars return for a performance: Ashley Roberts, Danny Mac, Jay McGuiness and Layton Williams. They’ll be joining forces with the professional dancers for a special routine, celebrating some of their most famous dances.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6:35pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Shoppers amazed as UK supermarket offers frozen Christmas dinner for 4 for £25

The box contains a turkey breast, roast potatoes, carrots, stuffing balls, sprouts and bacon, parsnips, turkey gravy, and 12 pigs in blankets. It can all be cooked from frozen

Christmas dinner is possibly the best meal of the entire year, but the cost of getting all the trimmings can add up. A turkey alone can cost a pretty penny, and once you add all the trimmings on top – not forgetting the all-important sprouts, of course – you can find yourself forking out a lot of money.

But one UK supermarket is helping keep costs down by offering enough to prepare a festive feast for a family of four for just £25. Posting on TikTok, Iceland revealed it is offering a full Christmas dinner for four, frozen and ready to cook.

The video shows a woman load three large boxes, each marked ‘Christmas dinner for four’ into a trolley, with the caption: “POV: you find a WHOLE Christmas dinner in a box for just £25.”

According to the supermarket’s website, the box contains a turkey breast; beef dripping roast potatoes; maple glazed chantenay carrots; pork, onion, and sage stuffing balls; sprouts and bacon, honey glazed parsnips; 12 pigs in blankets; and turkey gravy. It can all be cooked from frozen, with the turkey taking the longest amount of time to cook, at two hours and 10 minutes.

Writing on TikTok, Iceland said: “CHRISTMAS DINNER IN A BOX IS BACK! We’re making Christmas easy this year, everything you need to feed a family of 4 for just £25.”

Viewers were amazed, with a number of comments praising the chain for offering an affordable option for Christmas dinner. One wrote: “THAT’S ACTUALLY AMAZING for people struggling! Impressed!”

Another wrote: “This is an amazing idea for struggling families for Christmas, people are forgetting a fresh turkey will be £20 plus, not even for a decent sized one. I used to work on butcher’s in supermarket.”

Someone else said: “I used to be a support worker and cook Christmas dinner for the people I supported – these meals are perfect as the cost is excellent and it’s everything they needed in one!”

And another wrote: “I will definitely be getting some for Xmas, I cannot stand people in the kitchen when I’m trying to cook or the stress around Christmas time so this will be perfect.”

But others questioned the quality of the food included. One commenter wrote: “Can’t people cook fresh food any more? I can’t stand frozen potatoes or frozen stuffing.”

Another said: “Wouldn’t it be cheaper just to buy everything separate? All this does is less time to cook I’m assuming. “

And someone else said: “I love to be in my kitchen at Christmas with my daughters having fun, laughing, singing, dancing while cooking and baking everything from scratch. A home cooked meal for me just hits differently than food that’s just thrown in the oven and served. It’s the memories that we create that we treasure.”

But another said: “Many people are struggling with the cost of greed crisis so that would do the job, could also add a few little extras to bulk it up a bit, also it’s not what’s on the table, it’s who’s at the table.”

This Morning star hits rock bottom as she fears being a ‘bad mum’

When she gave birth to daughter Ruby in June 2024, Ian Welby became the first woman to do so. She has been open about the ups and downs ever since.

A This Morning star has opened up about hitting rock bottom and “really struggling” as a parent. Sian Welby is best known for being a staple on the ITV show.

She has been honest with her fans about recently struggling to balance her work and being a mum. She explained to her followers that her Instagram page isn’t a realistic representation of her life as she tends to just document her work commitments on there.

Ruby was born in 2024 to the mother-of-one, and she has since given her followers an understanding of how she has come to terms with motherhood.

On Monday night, the 39-year-old posted an emotional video to her social media accounts. Jake Beckett, who is frequently seen out and about with, is the mother of her daughter.

Sian tends to post her most exciting jobs on her Instagram page which includes appearing on This Morning and hosting Capital Breakfast. However, she said that it is “really hard” to be a mum and also have a successful career.

Sian said that she frequently finds herself trying to “survive the day” and wonders if she is a “bad mum” as she tries to balance her work and personal lives.

She stated in the video that she had a “really tough few weeks of parenting” and wanted to show her fans how to raise their children while working full-time.

Hello, Just a quick one from me because I’ve got a lot of DMs asking, “Oh Sian, how are you doing it?” and I’m starting to feel bad about it. The red carpet, celebrities, and other such things.

My Instagram looks so glossy and showbiz, but I’m afraid that it reflects something that’s not in real life. On the contrary, some days I’m completely rock bottom, cold in a corner, wondering how I’m going to survive the following day, wondering how I’m going to get to work, and I just don’t want to add more pressure on my parents.

I literally use my Instagram to show you all of my professional work, almost like a CV but I’m not showing you the full picture. “I don’t want my timeline to look like something you should be trying to achieve.

I’m not showing you the 48 hours of no sleep, the A&amp, E trips, the missed work commitments, the choice to work or to take childcare, “Am I a good mother, I’m a bad mother, what am I doing? “

She continued, “You know, I’m feeling this all the time and I’m torn and I’m struggling and I’m not getting it right every time,” and there are times when I’m hanging by a thread.

Sian continued, “every person’s situation is unique, and her social media accounts for the most positive aspects of her life and work.

She continued, “I’m just saying this so you know what you see on Instagram is obviously not like the full story and isn’t possible. I’m not saying this to get any kind of pity.”

“I really don’t think what you’re doing isn’t enough, or that I’m somehow I’ve got the parenting cheats because I’m just about surviving,” he said. “Some days I’m just about surviving, and there’s days when I genuinely think how am I going to do it and I think we all just do it,” and when you’re in it you just do it because that’s all you can do.

Everyone’s situation is unique, everyone has commitments they are bound to make, and you must make them consistently.

Sian concluded the video by saying, “But you know I’ve had a really tough few weeks of parenting, and maybe that’s not been reflected on here or on the radio, but I just wanted to be real with you all and it has been really hard. “

She was seen savoring a fresh banana in a video. Josie has demonstrated that she has lost weight without taking any medications, so eating well has been a key part of her weight loss.

She posted a picture of herself on Instagram earlier this year to explain her weight loss. She stated in a post that she had “got off my big a**e, moved more, ate less, and educated myself on what I was putting into my body.”

Josie continued, adding that she had been a part of MuscleFood’s 12-week fitness and food program Do the Unthinkable Plan. The program provides meals to your home and a workout schedule to help people lose weight naturally.

Josie adheres to the MuscleFood diet for six days per week, but she acknowledged that she once had a “cheat day.” However, she continued, “I don’t go crazy on my day off.”

“I had one cheat meal on that one day off.” I didn’t go crazy and consume ten bottles of wine, binge eating everything I wasn’t eating, and indulge in all the bad things I had. Just one cheat, I believe, was it?

She told fans that one day off isn’t the end of the world and doesn’t “undo all your hard work”, so anyone trying to lose weight should “have your one cheat meal and enjoy it”.
