BBC’s Jo Whiley says ‘it just does not feel right’ as she makes home life admission

Jo Whiley, the hostess of BBC Radio 2, has revealed how she will spend the holidays at home with her family, husband Steve Morton, and their children.

BBC Radio 2 star Jo Whiley says husband Steve Morton wants to do something that “just does not feel right” over the festive period. Jo and Steve have been married for more than three decades and share four children together.

The pair first met when music producer Steve hired a band to play on Jo’s radio show. She claims that the two share similar interests and “genuinely enjoy each other’s company.”

Although the couple do like to make sure they are “not in each other’s pockets”. On her Dig It podcast with former Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball, Jo admits there is one thing the couple disagree on however.

The 60-year-old says her family is split on what to do on Christmas Eve. She explained: “We have an on-going debate about what we have on Christmas Eve.

The kids have started saying, “Mom, it’s a little too much, we have potatoes Christmas Eve, we have potatoes Christmas Day,” while there are occasionally friends who have a little bit of a meal.

We’re all like, “No, you cannot have a curry at Christmas time, because it just doesn’t feel right,” says Steve, disco Steve, “Steve, disco Steve, he just wants a curry on Christmas Eve.”

Zoe mentioned that she has known some friends who avoid cooking by going out for a meal on Christmas Day. However, Zoe, who lives with her 14-year-old son Woody and daughter Nellie with her ex-husband Norman “Fastboy Slim” Cook, claims to frequently cook at home on Christmas Eve.

She continued, “I have friends who celebrate Christmas with a curry.” They simply opt for a curry, and nobody has to cook it. It’s actually quite an inspiring idea.

“My family always makes ham,” my mother says. I actually did my first ham last year, and the trick is always to dig into the ham you’ve soaked in treacle or Coca-cola or whatever you’ve done on Christmas Eve.

Zoe says her family have also floated the idea of having a pie on Christmas Eve, but concedes that it can “feel a bit heavy” ahead of Christmas dinner. The star, who earlier this month quit her Radio 2 show, says she “quite likes picky bits” ahead of the main festivities.

Zoe presented her final Saturday show this weekend with former Big Brother presenter Emma Willis set to take over in January. Delivering an emotional goodbye, she said: “It’s just time for me to say thank you so much for listening on Saturday afternoons. Don’t forget to look after the gorgeous Emma Willis when she joins you in the New Year.”

Before concluding with “Merry Christmas, love ya,” Chris Rea’s Driving Home For Christmas came on as her final song, she then said, “Huge respect” to her listeners for their support.

BBC presenter admits ‘it hurts’ as she prepares for first Christmas without late dad

After his tragic passing earlier this year, Nina Warhurst, a former BBC Breakfast presenter, is getting ready for her first Christmas without her beloved father.

Nina Warhust has shared a poignant tribute to her late dad as she prepares for first Christmas without him.

The 45-year-old BBC presenter shared the heartbreaking news that her beloved father Chris has passed away in July this year after being diagnosed with dementia in 2022.

Nina took to Instagram to share a reflective tribute to her father at the time posting pictures from Chris’ celebration of life service, and included photos of the family’s children in Manchester United football kits with ‘Warhurst’ printed on the back.

The journalist revealed that she is missing her parents after opening an email she received from Chris’ former neighbor earlier this month.

Alongside a montage of quotes a snap of her beloved dad, Nina wrote: “I am missing my Dad as we head to our first Christmas without him. Something is missing in the world and it hurts.

I received an email from his former neighbor this week, and it really affected me. Although we had no idea this family, the words “a gentleman who was warm and trustworthy” are true. Someone who could stop the chatter but be contacted if needed. Someone who can provide perspective on unfavorable circumstances. a good neighbor.

These traits are easily overlooked because they are quiet and consistent. Small gestures without fuss become much, much bigger things. It’s beautiful that a stranger wanted us to know they saw them in Dad because the world can feel depressing and hopeless, but the simple things we do every day have meaning.

“I added my favorite Middlemarch quote to this post (nearly gave up on it numerous times, but that brief passage made the work worthwhile.” And one from Vonnegut, who I don’t know, I saved from @lettersofnote because everyone has the same thoughts when they try to try it every day. He was “a fantastic man.” He was. “

In the comments section below Nina’s emotional post, one user wrote, “It is so lovely when people take the time to send or say such words. Even though my father passed away 17 years ago, I still miss him. I still feel lost and “orphaned” after my mother passed away two years ago. At the age of 60, an odd feeling. X “

Someone once said, “The day becomes fuller when we gather to share their stories, even though Christmas may seem diminished by the absence of those who have slipped beyond our sight.”

What is lost is never truly lost, but it is woven into the very foundation of our celebration as we remember one another. Take care of everyone X.

Inside the dramatic decline of Salt Bae and what viral star is up to now

At the peak of his fame, Salt Bae (known as Nusret Gökçe) was inescapable, with a 2017 viral video showing the Turkish butcher sprinkling salt on steak turning him overnight into a global celebrity, drawing stars to his pricey Nusr-Et steakhouses

At the height of his fame, the walking meme that is Salt Bae was impossible to escape. Following a six-second video of the Turkish butcher flamboyantly sprinkling salt onto a steak, Nusret Gökçe went astronomically viral back in 2017, turning him from an unknown chef into a global celebrity basically overnight.

Footballers, Hollywood actors and influencers all flocked to his Nusr-Et steakhouses, more than happy to pay through their noses for a taste of Nusret’s meat, and chance to witness his viral salt shaking. Salt Bae’s story is a classic rags-to-riches tale. Born into a poor family in eastern Turkey, the social media star left school at just 11 to work as a butcher’s apprentice, before going on to open his first restaurant in Istanbul.

Years of graft paid off when his Instagram videos went viral, earning him the nickname “Salt Bae” and paving the way for a rapid global expansion across Europe, the Middle East, the UK and US.

However, the excessiveness that fuelled his meteoric rise has, it seems, defined his decline.

The London branch of his viral restaurant, based in swanky Knightsbridge, became notorious for its ridiculous prices, with steaks costing hundreds of pounds and some diners racking up bills of tens of thousands.

Critics and customers alike questioned the value of the food, branding the experience as overpriced and underwhelming, while online reviews piled up accusing staff of being pushy and the food of failing to justify the gaudy spectacle.

The financial impact is now clear. Despite early success, Salt Bae’s UK business recently reported losses of more than £5 million, even after cutting prices to tempt customers back.

Over in the US, things have gone even worse One by one, Nusr-Et locations in New York, Boston, Dallas, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills have closed, leaving just two restaurants open across the entire country.

To make matters worse, Gökçe recently lost a two-year battle to stop another food business from trademarking the word “SALT”.

A UK tribunal ruled the term was too generic and rejected claims that diners associate it exclusively with Salt Bae, ordering his company to pay costs.

The social media star has been accused of withholding staff tips, breaking Covid safety standards, and overindulging himself during Argentina’s World Cup celebrations in 2022, and has been the subject of controversy throughout his culinary career.

Salt Bae is still far from drying up despite his issues.

Nicki Minaj says Donald Trump is a ‘role model’ in surprise appearance at event

In an awkward attempt to describe JD Vance’s political philosophy, she then called the Vice President an “assassin” in front of Charlie Kirk’s widow.

Nicki Minaj has made a surprise appearance at a political convention run by the widow of Charlie Kirk, with the rapper singing the praises of Donald Trump and JD Vance.

Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, called the US President and Vice-President “role models” for young men after she arrived at the Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference hand-in-hand with Erika Kirk, the wife of political activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September.

Kirk founded Turning Point USA and was the not-for-profit organisation’s leader up until his death. His widow, Erika, now runs the conservative activist group.

The rapper’s widow, Charlie Kirk, spoke with Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, about her recent admission to support Trump, who she had previously condemned, and about her handling of the violence against Christians in Nigeria.

Minaj addressed the gathered Republicans in a statement to the crowd: “This administration is full of people who have my heart and soul. I’m proud of them. Our vice president makes me, well, I love both of them. Both of them possess an uncanny ability to make you feel special.

The 43-year-old rapper then called JD Vance an “assassin” in front of Kirk’s widow in a horrifying error. At the time, she attempted to describe JD Vance’s political outlook.

Minaj appeared to be shivering, akin to a rehashed statement. Things seemed to go from bad to worse as Kirk appeared to wipe a tear from one of her eyes and Minaj put a hand over her mouth.

However, Kirk’s widow gracefully addressed the crowd who had gathered to pay tribute to her late husband, saying, “If the internet wants to clip it, who cares? This woman is my favorite.

Minaj claimed she was tired of being “pushed around,” and that having people use their minds when they speak up to differs is unpopular.

Even though he hasn’t said whether he will run for president in the upcoming election, Vance did receive an endorsement from Erika Kirk at the Arizona event.

Despite receiving criticism from the entertainment industry for her support for Trump, Kirk once thanked Minaj for being “courageous.” “I didn’t notice,” Minaj responded.

Last month, the rapper took to social media to reveal herself as a fan of Trump and his polices. She shared a message that was originally posted by the US President about Christian persecution in Nigeria.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump had suggested putting sanctions on the West African nation.

“Reading this gave me a great deal of gratitude,” I said. Minaj wrote on X in a country where we can freely worship God. She was then invited along with US Ambassador Mike Waltz and other religious leaders to speak on a panel at the US mission to the UN.

Brooklyn Beckham makes request to dad David in bid to ‘find peace at Christmas’

Following his mother Victoria’s liking of a post about him roasting a chicken, Brooklyn Beckham is said to have blocked his family on social media. This is the latest remark in the ongoing family feud.

Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz have reportedly asked David and Victoria to “back off” in the ongoing family feud.

It is understood they have made thr request in the hope it’ll bring them peace during the Christmas period, following a difficult 2025. The latest swipe in the saga came over the weekend when Brooklyn, 26, blocked his family on social media after mum Victoria liked a post about him roasting a chicken.

But it is believed Brooklyn and Nicola are “upset” about the reaction to this, including from his youngest brother Cruz, and now want David and Victoria “to leave them alone” during the holiday season. It is unclear how each of the family is spending Christmas Day this year.

The Beckhams could simply back off and leave them alone for the time being, according to a friend of theirs. Nicola and Brooklyn haven’t been commenting. They merely desire tranquility. It would be best for everyone because it doesn’t help them [the Beckhams] to stop contacting, commenting, and briefing.

They have requested that Beckhams withdraw. They simply want to be themselves. The speculation makes them angry. They are attempting to take the dangerous path of living simply by themselves.

Since Brooklyn first met Nicola, 30, an American aspiring actress and Nelson Peltz’s daughter, there has been trouble in the Beckhams’ home. Dim hopes of a reconciliation in the summer faded quickly, and now the situation has taken another bleak turn. The latest row over the Instagram stand-off has caused significant concern among Nicola and Brooklyn’s friends, according to the Daily Mail.
