‘Broken’ Kirsty Gallacher bursts into tears in court as she faces driving ban

Kirsty Gallacher burst into tears in court while facing a driving ban. She was stripped of her licence, despite saying she had “no confidence” to use public transport and had to use her own car to ferry her family around. During a hearing, she was banned from driving for six months.

She explained that police believe an assault on her two weeks ago while she was in Central London was a “targeted attack.” Kirsty, 49, was caught speeding, doing 35mph in a 30 zone in Maiden’s Green, Berkshire, on April 1 this year, shortly after 8am.

During the emotional hearing at High Wycombe magistrates’ court, Kirsty, had attempted to apply for a driving ban exemption under mitigating circumstances. She already had nine points when she was caught in her 2020 plate Mercedes by a manned camera on a residential road. Ms Gallacher had previously pleaded guilty.

“I’m their sole carer and provider, financially,” she told the court of her children, aged 18 and 15, adding: “We live in the middle of the countryside. We’re in the middle of nowhere. I take my son to school every morning. I enjoy doing that. Public transport is not a feasible option.”

She went on to say a ban would not be fair on her younger child due to personal circumstances, adding that public transport wasn’t “feasible” where she and her family live. Gallacher, who explained she earned £150,000 per annum, said she had “no savings” and couldn’t afford to pay for a private driver or taxis.

She stated that her son may be forced to miss out on extracurricular activities, including golf and rugby, if she were banned from driving. “I have a brain tumour – an acoustic neuroma – it is benign, but it’s growing very fast,” she told the court, adding that it had been monitored for three years and she was now having radiotherapy treatment.

However, she explained that medical staff were unsure as to whether the treatment would work or if the tumour would shrink. Kirsty explained that she has to attend regular medical appointments and may have to undergo more radiotherapy and a possible operation.

While she says she’s a humble person and cannot ever use public transport, she is currently suffering from bad anxiety and understands that public transport isn’t always reliable. She says that at the moment, she is on steroids and suffers from dizziness and tinnitus.

Last month, the former Sky Sports News broadcaster explained she had been attacked while in London. “Last night I was physically assaulted in the streets of central London walking from work to my car, the walk I do most nights,” the 49-year-old said on social media. “The streets are well lit. There were people around.

“I was walking on the pavement, and I noticed this guy, all in black, covered up, actually, just walking at me. And I’m always vigilant. And he was just walking towards me, and so I moved out of the way, and then he brushed past me.

“He turned around, and he kicked me like he was kicking a football. He kicked me in the middle of a street at about seven o’clock last night, in front of people, and I turned around and he scarpered. I’m still shocked now, and I have the bruises to prove I’m afraid. I can’t quite believe what happened. I was not being provocative in any way. I was just going about my business as you do. I was just walking to my car to go back home to my family.”

“I luckily had some witnesses, some lovely girls saw it and came to my aid,” Gallacher added. “There was a security guard on a door nearby who was absolutely useless and didn’t do anything, which was hugely disappointing, and I just there, and I couldn’t actually believe that someone, a stranger, has just decided, for whatever reason, whether he’s a got a problem with women, whether he’s just an opportunist.

“He decided he did not like me, and he just thought, Now, give you the boot. And that is not okay. It’s not okay, it’s not okay.”

A third remarked: “Jack Whitehall went from Comedian movie actor to drama movie actor.”

While another enthusiastic fan remarked: “That’s Jack Whitehall? ! Wow impressive!”

A final viewer commented: “A villainous Jack White? Outstanding! I can’t wait. Woo-hoo!”

Jack Whitehall launched his professional stand-up comedy career in the mid 2000s, making his first major television appearance in 2008.

Since then, he’s gone on to feature in numerous shows and films including Fresh Meat, The Queen’s Corgis, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again, and Bad Education.

“Adam now starts to turn Jamie Tanner (David Duchovny) and Nat (Carice Van Houten) against each other and secretly plots to bring down the entire family.

“When Adam’s obsession with the family raises questions, those who dig deeper into his past find themselves playing a dangerous game.

“With his world collapsing around him, Jamie starts to realise that Adam may be responsible for all their recent disasters – but is it too late to save his family?

“In this revenge thriller that proves the past never stays buried, one question remains: how do you protect your family from the enemy within.”

Why did the Kardashians delete Meghan Markle’s photo? Real reason revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seen in the pictures for Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party – but shortly afterwards they mysteriously disappeared. Here’s why…

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were among the celebs at Kris Jenner’s star-studded 70th birthday bash earlier this week – but why did photos of the couple mysteriously disappear from Instagram?

Kris’ daughter Kim uploaded a series of snaps from the James Bond themed bash that was held at Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos’ Beverly Hills mansion. Huge A-list celebs who made the guest list also included Adele, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Serena Williams, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Oprah Winfrey and Paris Hilton. While Bruno Mars is said to have performed at the event.

In photos that now appear to have been deleted, both Meghan and Harry were seen posing for snaps with Kim and birthday girl Kris. The prince wore a classic suit in line with the black tie dress code. And Meghan wowed in a black high neck dress that was split to the thigh, which she accessorised with long gold earrings.

But shortly afterwards the photos disappeared – and now the reason why seems to have been revealed. It’s all to do with the day the photos were posted, November 11, which is Remembrance Day in the UK. The day commemorates fallen servicemen and women who have died in the line of duty since the First World War – and Prince Harry turned up to the glitzy bash wearing a poppy on his suit to mark the occasion.

According to TMZ, the Kardashians felt posting pictures of Meghan and Harry on this significant day in the UK wouldn’t land well in Britain if they kept them up. The outlet reported: “We’re told several images were deleted – not just those of Meghan and Harry.

“Also, considering it was Remembrance Sunday – a day meant to commemorate servicemen and women – in the UK, we’re told they thought it might be better to delete the images rather than push something that could get picked up and misconstrued across the pond.”

When the photos were first taken down it sparked confusion amongst fans. Taking to the website Reddit, as some wondered what was going on, one wrote: “Why delete their pic, we saw them at the party?”

Another speculated that the Sussexes may have asked for their photos to be taken down. They said: “A bit cringe to accept the invite but not want your pics associated with attending (esp when there are pap shots of you going in or out).”

It comes as Meghan announced she was making a return to acting eight years after starring in Suits. The 44-year-old is starring in new film Close Personal Friends, which is shooting in Pasadena, California.

The movie stars fellow actors Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Henry Golding and Jack Quaid, the son of actors Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid. It’s a mid-budget romcom about two couples, one famous and one not, who become friends on holiday.

This marks Meghan’s first role since 2018 and in a self-referential twist, the Duchess will reportedly play herself. A source told The Sun: “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right.

“It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”

But it’s been said she didn’t plan to make a return to acting. In 2022 Meghan spoke out about how she would not be returning to acting any time soon. In an interview with Variety magazine at the time, she said: “I’m done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not.”

After she started dating Harry in 2016, Meghan stepped away from acting to pursue a life as a royal. This was until they both sensationally stepped down as senior members in 2020 and moved to California, where they now live with their two children Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

Caroline Flack’s ex Lewis Burton breaks silence after heartbreaking documentary

Caroline Flack’s former boyfriend has hit out in an ultra rare statement about the late TV presenter following the release of a bombshell documentary about her death.

Boyfriend Lewis Burton has said he is going to speak out about her death to “clarify the situation” after a new documentary was released about her death.

In a statement on Instagram, Lewis said: “Out of respect, I’ve chosen to remain silent. However, the false accusations and online abuse directed toward me and my family has gone too far.

“I had hoped it would never come to this, but now I have no choice but to clarify the situation and share the truth.”

Lewis is not interviewed in the documentary although the director and producer said at a media screening that Lewis was approached several times but declined to appear.

Series producer Sophie Clayton-Payne revealed that Lewis had been invited to take part. “We contacted as many people as possible,” she said.

“We contacted Lewis right from the beginning and we said ‘We’d love to talk to you off-record just for research purposes [to] understand your perspective on everything.’ “We also invited him to take part in the series, on camera. He declined to take part.”

It is thought he may have received some trolling on social media since the two part series dropped on Monday.

Some of Lewis’ comments do feature via the quotes picked up on the police body cam on the night he and Caroline had an altercation in December 2019.

Lewis blurted out to police he may have been hit by a lamp, a fan, and then admitted he didn’t know what it was. He later agreed with Caroline that it was his phone that was used and said this on social media. In fact Caroline’s mobile was the only thing taken from the scene as evidence. In the new documentary Caroline’s mum Christine is keen to ensure people realise it was a “myth” a lamp was ever involved in the altercation.

Caroline, who was born in London and grew up in Norfolk, took her own life in February 2020 at the age of 40, after learning that prosecutors were going to press ahead with an assault charge, following the incident with boyfriend Lewis, in December 2019.

On instagram after her death, Lewis wrote: “My heart is broken we had something so special.

“I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking.

“I will be your voice baby I promise I will ask all the questions you wanted and I will get all the answers nothing will bring you back but I will try make you proud everyday. I love you with all my heart.”

In the Disney+ documentary Caroline Flack: Search For The Truth former CPS chief crown prosecutor Nazir Afzal studies the police documents gathered by Christine and is in no doubt Caroline should NOT have gone to trial.

He says: “Having looked at all your evidence I can’t understand why they rushed the judgement. This was a case where there is no previous history, no coercive behaviour. Mr Burton never wanted this case and was adamant. This was a one off occasion where she lost her temper and did what she did, which she accepts. For all of those reasons, the very worst thing that should have happened was a caution.”

He added: “I have prosecuted thousands of these cases, none of this makes sense. Almost immediately in the cold light of day, prosecutors would have formed a view this case is going nowhere and they should have stopped the case. They are required to stop the case where there is insufficient evidence. I can’t think of any reason to proceed, unless they were scared of what the media were going to say about them. It is not about losing face, this is about justice. My take on it is Caroline would still be with us if certain decisions weren’t taken in that month or two.”

Strictly’s Gorka Marquez says ‘I don’t want to’ as he shares Gemma Atkinson marriage update

Strictly Come Dancing stars Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have been together for more than six years and share two children – but they’re in no rush to tie the knot

Gemma Atkinson has given an update on her relationship with long-term partner and Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Márquez.

The couple, who first met during the 2017 series of Strictly Come Dancing, have been in a relationship for over six years and are parents to two children — daughter Mia, who arrived in 2019, and son Thiago, born in 2023.

While Gemma and Gorka weren’t dance partners on the programme, their romance developed away from the cameras, and they confirmed their relationship shortly after the series concluded.

They’ve since established themselves as one of Strictly’s most popular couples, frequently offering fans a window into their home life through social media. However, despite persistent questions from supporters about when they’ll tie the knot, the pair insist there’s no urgency to arrange an extravagant ceremony.

In a chat with Heat magazine about their future plans, the actress and radio host revealed: “We will be getting married. We’re working on whether to do it in England or Spain because we need to involve everyone as much as possible. But as Gorka said yesterday, the thought of planning a wedding — ugh!”

Reflecting on a recent discussion with a mate who’s currently juggling his own wedding arrangements, Gorka, 35, confessed the whole thing seemed rather daunting. “One of my best friends is getting married in June in Italy,” he said.

“I was sharing an apartment with him when I was on Strictly for the first couple of weeks filming the group numbers. Every day he was on the phone speaking and shouting in Italian. I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ He said, ‘Working.’ I was like, ‘Working on what, dancing?’ and he said, ‘No — the wedding.'”

“So he went to Italy for 24 hours, saw the venues, came back, and I said to him, ‘People keep asking us when we are going to get married, but after seeing you stressed and everything, I just don’t want to do it. I’m happy like this.'”

The 40-year-old former soap star admitted she’s not interested in a lavish ceremony, saying: “I don’t want a big fancy white wedding dress. I’ll happily go to a little office somewhere, just us two, sign the papers, then have a party.”

Gorka revealed he’d be equally content with a low-key affair. “I’m happy to buy each other a ring, get the paper, sign together, then we’ll fold it, give it to me — there we go,” he joked.

I’m A Celeb star Kelly Brook recalls traumatic miscarriage at six months pregnant

I’m A Celeb star Kelly Brook has shared that she was traumatised by having a miscarriage while six months pregnant when she was in her thirties, and has not wanted to have a baby since

I’m A Celebrity star Kelly Brook has opened up about the devastating miscarriage she suffered 14 years ago that she describes as the most “traumatic” experience of her life.

The 45-year-old model and Heart Radio presenter, who is now happily married to French actor Jeremy Parisi, spoke about the heartbreaking moment during an appearance on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast.

“In my thirties, I got pregnant and it was with somebody that I hadn’t been with for very long,” Kelly recalled. “It was really a case of like, ‘Well, I’m in my thirties. This might be my last roll of the dice. Maybe I should just do this.’”

She continued: “Lo and behold, I had a miscarriage at six months, which was the most traumatic, horrific thing that I’ve ever been through. It was just the most devastating thing.”

Kelly explained that her relationship with her then-partner Thom Evans, a Scottish rugby player, did not survive the tragedy. She added: “It took me quite a long time for my body and for everything to kind of… I don’t think you ever fully recover from that. But our relationship didn’t survive that and I just had to pick myself back up and move forward.”

The Loose Women panellist revealed that after the miscarriage, she struggled to imagine going through pregnancy again. “I just thought, ‘It’s not in my world, I just don’t want to go through that again.’”

Kelly also spoke about deciding not to name her child as part of her way of coping with grief. “I didn’t have a name, and at that point I didn’t want to have a name,” she said.

“It was just a way of me coping and I know so many women deal with this in so many different ways. I was told that I would regret that and that I should have footprints and handprints and all these things — and I just chose not to.”

She pointed out that miscarriages weren’t really spoken about in that era, adding: “At the time, miscarriage wasn’t something we talked about. It was something that you hid away. It felt like you’d failed. It was very shameful.”

Now, as Kelly prepares to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle, she is hoping to show fans a new side of herself. The presenter will face the usual bugs, Bushtucker trials, and sleepless nights alongside Lisa Riley, Vogue Williams, Jack Osbourne, and others.

A source close to the star told The Mirror Kelly is “nervous” about spending weeks away from husband Jeremy, who she married in 2022 after seven years together.

“Kelly is extremely close to Jeremy. He does everything for her,” the insider shared. “She’s going to really struggle without him, but she wants to prove to herself that she can do it.”

After a string of high-profile relationships in the past — including engagements to Jason Statham, Billy Zane, and David McIntosh — Kelly says she’s finally found “the love of her life”.
