Taylor Swift dropped another lot of bombshells and clues as she released her brand new album The Life of a Showgirl, where she detailed more about her bedroom antics with Travis and standing up to ‘The Man’

Taylor Swift has released her brand new album The Life of a Showgirl. The singer details her love for Travis on The Fate of Ophelia and Opalite and details her struggle with ‘The Man’ in her track Father Figure.

The singer’s new album comes off the back of a string of successful re-releases of her previous LPs including Speak Now, 1989 and Red under her Taylor’s Version re-records. In 2024, Taylor released her hotly anticipated album The Tortured Poets Department, which formed the basis of the second leg of her record breaking Eras Tour.

Taylor recently got engaged to Kansas Chiefs star Travis Kelce in a romantic proposal at his home. The NFL star had been dreaming to meet Taylor for years, and finally the pair came face to face, where they struck up a great bond and are now set to say I do.

Here’s the biggest bombshells from Taylor’s new album including a dig at a fellow pop star, an explicit track about her husband-to-be Travis Kelce and the terrible loss of a good friend.

X-rated confession

Taylor certainly isn’t hiding her romance with Travis Kelce, including some rather explicit references to their time in the bedroom.

Wood is the raciest song on the album and features lyrics referencing manhood and New Heights, Travis’ podcast he has with his brother Jason Kelce. It is a playful song full of word play and double entendres.

She sings: “Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me and opened my еyes / Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see / His love was thе key that opened my thighs,” amongst other references to sex and their bedroom antics.

Charli XCX feud

Taylor doesn’t mince her words on the track Actually Romantic, where she seemingly references her feud with Charli XCX.

In the track, she sings: “I heard you call me “Boring Barbie” when the coke’s got you brave / High-fived my ex and then you said you’re glad he ghosted me / Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face / Some people might be offended.”

The song also references that the person it’s about “doesn’t wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend’s show”, which seemingly fits as both pop stars were dating members of The 1975 at the time.

Charli also has a song called Everything is Romantic, which makes the song of Taylor’s track even more telling.

Tragic loss

Taylor has seemingly referenced the devastating loss of her former school friend in a new track. In Ruin The Friendship, she sings: “When I left school, I lost track of you / Abigail called me with the bad news / Goodbye, and we’ll never know why,” and later says: “But I flew home anyway / With so much left to say … But I whispered at the grave / Should’ve kissed you anyway.”

The song is believed to be about Jeff Lang, a friend from high school who died at the age of 21. Taylor also paid tribute to him at the 2010 BMI Country Music Awards, where she said: “Yesterday, I sang at the funeral of one of my best friends. And he was 21, and I used to play my songs for him first. So I would like to thank Jeff Lang.”

Hitting back

Taylor might be the owner of her master recordings now after buying them back from her former management, but she wants one more opportunity to hit back at them in a new song.

Her famous fall out with her former record label is well documented, and she references this when she sings about how the men who helped with her career only wanted to see her “rise” rather than “reign”.

At the end of the song she shows herself getting the power back as she sings “this empire belongs to me”, referencing that she now owns her masters once again and was able to purchase them back with the money she got from The Eras Tour.

Baby bombshell

Taylor is entering her new era with this new album – but could a baby be on the cards for the singer? In Wi$h Li$t, she speaks of her desire to have kids and settle down with the love of her life.

“I just want you / Have a couple kids, got the whole block looking like you / We tell the world to leave us thе f*** alone, and they do,” she sings, adding: “Got me drеaming about a driveway with a basketball hoop / Boss up, settle down.”

Just weeks before the Keeping Up Appearances icon, sadly passed away in her sleep, surrounded by love, Dame Patricia Routledge made an extremely rare public appearance.

Dame Patricia Routledge made a public appearance in the weeks before her death. She joined the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and later joined the University of Liverpool to pursue a degree in English Language and Literature, with her final acting debut seeing her play Lady Markby in 2014’s An Ideal Husband.

In her final years, Dame Patricia made a few public appearances, but her last one was just weeks before she passed away. Dame Patricia and her former co-star Dominic Monaghan joined them for dinner 27 years after the conclusion of Hetty Wainthropp Investigates.

While dining out with Dame Patricia, Dominic posted a picture of himself and Dame Patricia. “25 YEARS AGO!” he wrote next to his image. It’s so lovely to see Dame Patricia.

She rose to fame in Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV in the mid-1980s, before taking the role of Hyacinth in the BBC’s Keeping Up Appearances, and made her mark on television as well.

In 2017, she was honoured at Buckingham Palace as she was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire for her services to the theatre and charity.

Many senior royals were out in force this week for various events and engagements, with some eagle-eyed royal fans convinced that the likes of Princess Kate and King Charles were sending a subtle message to Prince Harry.

In the weeks after the Duke of Sussex’s meeting with his estranged father, sources close to Harry say he was left “infuriated” and that he thought senior Palace aides were trying to torpedo his attempts at reconciliation with the Firm , urging “the men in grey suits to stay out of it.”

Now, fans online have noticed the monochrome colour palette of grey suits worn by senior royals this week, and believe their outfit choices could be a subtle yet hilarious dig at Harry’s comments.

The Princess of Wales travelled to Lincolnshire where she visited RAF Coningsby yesterday, stepping out in a coordinated grey suit, while King Charles also donned a grey suit for an event in Scotland to celebrate the King’s Foundation’s ’35 under 35 network’.

During an engagement in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, Princess Anne also opted for a grey suit as she spoke with Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska before talking with children who have lived under occupation in a children’s rights protection centre.

The unified colour palette immediately set tongues wagging among royal fans online, with many suggesting it was more than just a coincidence. Taking to X, royal fans quipped: “Oh well played. Grey suits galore today.”

During his recent visit to the UK, last month, Harry had a private tea with his father lasting just under an hour – a meeting widely seen as a tentative step towards rebuilding their relationship.

However, after reports surfaced suggesting their reunion at Clarence House was “distinctly formal” with Harry feeling like an “official visitor,” the narrative of their reunion turned sour.

The Duke was reportedly furious at what he viewed as a concerted campaign by unnamed Palace officials to sabotage his attempts at reconciliation following their fall out. He was reportedly particularly infuriated by their hostile briefings to newspapers.

A source close to Prince Harry told the Mail On Sunday: “The relationship between the Duke and His Majesty The King is a matter for the two of them and the two of them only. The men in grey suits should stay out of it.”

One comment in particular appeared to hint Harry had overestimated a meeting with Charles, claiming the Duke had “mistaken a brief tea and a slice of cake for the Treaty of Versailles.” The Sun also claimed Harry’s meeting with the King had been “distinctly formal” and that the Duke later described the meeting as “very official, like an official visit.”

The outlet then reported there were no further plans for them to be seen together in public. It also declined to retract the statement with the Duke’s spokesperson issuing a statement, adding: “Recent reporting of the Duke’s view of the tone of the meeting is categorically false.

“The quotes attributed to him are pure invention fed, one can only assume, by sources intent on sabotaging any reconciliation between father and son.”

Noel Gallagher has some blistering views on Taylor Swift. The Oasis legend has never minced his words when it comes to sharing what is really on his mind, and his thoughts on Taylor are no different.

Today, the 35-year-old releases her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which is expected to run straight to the top of the charts across the globe. The album was recorded between shows on her mammoth Eras Tour, which saw Swift travel to Sweden in order to put her vocals on the 12 tracks.

But while Taylor has an army of millions of fans, Noel, 58, isn’t at the top of the list; instead, he has no idea how the singer became one of the most successful female musicians of all time. Speaking in 2015, Noel revealed that he believed only Taylor’s parents had told her she was talented.

“Who says that? Her parents? She seems like a nice girl, but no one has ever said those words, and you f***ing know it,” he told Rolling Stone. In another interview, he said: “I don’t know anyone in my life who’s a fan. I’m not sure how she’s gotten to where she’s gotten. How’s that happened?”

Speaking to Stereogum, Noel was asked whether Swift’s “business savvy” nature had helped her achieve such astronomical success. He said: “A lot of these young pop stars are now. They’re more about the brand. They’re very aware of how they put themselves out in the digital age and that kind of thing.

“It’s weird for a 50-year-old guy to see it, but I’ve got a 17-year-old daughter, she can’t believe we lived the way we lived. She’s like, ‘Are you f***ing idiotic?’ And we were like, ‘Well, yeah,’ so, for the young’uns, [Swift] and Ed Sheeran and all that mob, that’s just the way they do things. But while Noel isn’t a fan, his younger brother, Liam, certainly is. He previously said he didn’t know what “pop music is,” before telling Newsweek: “Taylor Swift makes some good pop songs. You know what I mean? Shake It Off is a f***ing tune.”

Earlier today, Taylor spoke to Hits Radio Breakfast Show hosts Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr about her 12th studio album. She said: “One thing about this album that I think is really exciting is that oftentimes when I make a record there’s like a lag time between when I made it and when it enters the world.

“Like for example, my last album, The Tortured Poets Department, by the time that album came out, I was in a completely different point in my life. With this one I would say that this album is a complete and total snapshot of what my life looks like right now.”

She later told Magic Radio Breakfast that she was aiming for “perfection” with the record. She told hosts Harriet Rose and Gok Wan: “With this album I was very specific about the vision for it being a short, concise, almost in my mind I had the perfect album as an idea. Perfection is unobtainable, we know that conceptually it’s a problematic thing to think about perfect.

“But I meant perfect in the idea that each song has a place, it can’t be swapped out with anything else it fits perfectly together. So that’s when I knew that we had made, in my mind, the perfect album for this moment in my life was when we wrote Wi$h Li$t because it really does get me, it’s really emotional and it’s a very accurate stance of where I am in my life and it was a feeling of we’re done now.”

Taylor Swift is set to appear on The Graham Norton Show later tonight – and will dish on fiancé Travis Kelce’s romantic proposal as she flashes her huge engagement ring.

The 35-year-old is on the BBC chat show to promote her new album The Life of a Showgirl, which is out today. But as well as talking about her new music – which heavily references her love for her husband-to-be – the Shake It off singer gave fans further details of how the American football star popped the question.

She shared: “He really crushed it in surprising me. While we were talking on his podcast, he had a complete garden built out the back of his house to propose in. He went all out – 10 out of 10.”

Asked when the wedding is happening, she said: “You’ll know,” adding: “I want to do the album stuff first, and the wedding is what happens after in terms of planning. I think it will be fun to plan.”

Showing off a different look to when she last appeared on Graham’s show in 2024 and 2019, Taylor also spoke of how exhausted she got on her last tour – and how making new music got her through.

Taylor’s style is vastly different to her last Graham Norton Show appearance, with her blonde locks looking much darker and styled into a sleek, long down hairstyle. While she sported a sophisticated black halter-neck dress, in contrast to her bright pink number previously sported on the chat show. However, one thing that remained a staple is her blushing red lipstick.

She said: “Last year on the tour I was physically exhausted – sick and worn down – so to spark me up I had the album as a secret passion project behind the scenes. It stopped me hitting a wall.”

Asked if all the songs are inspired by her life, which she is known for, Taylor revealed: “I am open about things, but in recent years I have a different perspective and like storytelling at a little bit of a distance, so it isn’t like doing a complete autopsy of myself.”

Taylor, who bought back the rights to her first six albums earlier this year after a long-running battle over the ownership of her music, also spoke of how owning her whole back catalogue was a “lifelong dream come true”.

The star, who is said to be the world’s richest female musician with a fortune of £1.1 billion, said: “I was able to buy my entire back catalogue. I don’t respond to stuff generally, but not owning it really p***ed me off.

“I didn’t think I should be given it – I was happy to pay and at a premium. I am glad I spoke publicly about it and my fans got behind it and championed it. I couldn’t believe it happened. Travis and I were in tears when it did. Every time it is mentioned, I get a wave of euphoria still.”
