Soap actress Jorgie Porter has revealed she still is yet to plan her wedding to beau Oliver Piotrowski, despite getting engaged four years ago.

Hollyoaks star Jorgie, 37, announced her engagement to her real estate developer beau Oliver towards the end of 2021. She shared the joyous news on her Instagram at the time, posting a photo of herself with Oliver flashing her huge new rock. She simply captioned the post: “OMG.“

Four years on, the pair have welcomed two wonderful children together; Forest, two, and Peony, who was born in December. In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, at the Pro Am Padel tour launch event, Jorgie revealed why the pair are yet to walk down the aisle and say ‘I do’.

When asked if there are any wedding plans, Jorgie jokes about her lengthy engagement. “How long? Four years I think! I didn’t plan this,” she quips.

The soap star mum then reveals why there is yet to be wedding bells for her a Oliver. “No I’m stupid at planning, I’m a bad planner,” she confesses. “Because whenever I’ve had Hollyoaks work we never are scheduled so I never know what day it is. We even work on Saturdays. You can ask me now what day it is, I don’t know. I don’t know the day, the month, because you have to always be ready to work because they can call you up because…

“So planning for me is just… I’m waiting for the wedding to come to me I think. It’ll just come when it’s ready. Maybe a padel wedding, I’m joking!,” she quipped while at the Pro Am Padel tour event.

Jorgie gave birth to Peony in December and has candidly admitted to the Mirror that motherhood to two children is very different than it is to being a mum to one.

When asked how she’s finding the new phase of motherhood, Jorgie tells the Mirror: “It’s hard. Nobody tells you that it’s the hardest thing in the world because you’ve got a toddler that wants all your attention and you’ve, obviously, got a little baby that’s attached to you, literally that is another level of mum-ness. It is hard. We’re in the trenches, this is the trenches we’re deep in there.“

Juggling two children is tricky for a number of reasons, but Jorgie reveals she finds her son Forest’s jealousy particularly difficult – but is making slow progress helping her eldest adjust to the new family dynamic. She explains: “Honestly, it’s great but I think there’s jealousy bits when the toddler is like, ‘you’re my mummy, get off this one, put her in the carseat’, like, ‘No Forest, we’re cuddling her’.

“It’s tricky because he can’t understand that I’m her Mummy, too. But he does know, it’s weird. It’s very hard to navigate. It’s going there, it’s brilliant. I think there’s everyday you go, ‘Oh that’s a win, that’s brilliant, we’re out together in a pram, we did it’. So it is going well.”

‘I’m a chart-topping musician – BRIT Awards leaving London is right move’

EXCLUSIVE: Sigma star Cameron Edwards has opened up on his views following the news that the BRIT Awards are leaving London for the first time, admitting it’s time to celebrate all UK music

Chart-topping musician Cameron Edwards says the BRITs should be celebrated across the country(Image: Kay Holden)

Sigma’s Cameron Edwards admits it’s “right” that the BRIT Awards are finally leaving London. It was announced earlier this week that the glitzy music event will be leaving London for the first time.

For the first time, the annual event, which celebrates the best of British music, as well as international artists, will be moving to Manchester’s Co-op Live for 2026 and 2027 after 45 ceremonies in London. Chart topper, Cameron Edwards, one half of drum and bass duo Sigma, believes this is the right move.

Despite being from the south of England, Cam and Joe Lenzie met in 2006 while studying at Leeds University, so have a strong connection to the north. “It’s probably about right,” Cam exclusively told the Mirror, following the release of their latest track, Jungle, featuring Stefflon Don and Yung Saber.

He added: “I mean, it’s the BRITs, it should be Britain, right? Why not? There’s a lot of talent outside of London so it should be celebrated.” Speaking of Sigma’s origins, he explained: “We were at university up there, that’s how we met and sort of formed everything we did. There’s a big divide in terms of the way people are with you in the north and the south.

“Generally, the further up north you get, the friendlier people are. I lived in Manchester for almost 10 years and absolutely loved it, Leeds is an amazing city. I’ve got very fond memories of both places, so why not take the BRITs elsewhere?” But while Sigma have previously worked with major labels, the duo have since gone independent for their latest record, Day One.

“We were part of the major label system for just over 10 years,” he said, before adding: “Like any sort of longterm relationship, it had its ups and downs but it’s nice to come out of it and have that kind of knowledge we probably didn’t have when we started, having had ten years of experience with a major label and be able to make decisions on our own.

“It’s more down to how quickly we can make decisions because there’s just Joe and I. We don’t have to ask anyone, so we’re doing everything ourselves – it’s been very liberating to be honest, and it’s been a great start.” However, he admits while it’s stressful working independently, he believes that there had always been stress behind the scenes.

Nowadays, the duo are working independently, with Cam admitting it feels 'liberating'

“Doing everything independently, you forget, it’s literally everything you see that happens we’ve made a decision on,” Cam said. He went on to explain that this includes social media posts, people they are working with and who they choose to record with. In more recent years, independent artists including RAYE, Sugababes and The Zutons have gone on to have astronomical success after steering away from major labels and making decisions themselves.

However, he acknowledges that major labels do have an important part to play when it comes to breaking new artists, and budgets are often a lot higher. “If something starts doing well, they can generally throw money behind it, almost like a bank,” he said, admitting that Sigma don’t have the opportunity to plough into a huge campaign.

Now, the duo have to “carefully” plan things. “I think there’s definitely a shift at the moment,” he said of musicians working independently, adding: “I think if you’re an established name, you’ve got a bit of a fanbase already, maybe people are realising they don’t maybe need the full structure of 30 people working for you.

“Obviously, the percentages are much better when you’re independent as well,” noting that record labels, management and publicists often take a percentage of any money generated by the artist. Creative freedom is also a bonus, with Cam and Joe being able to decide who they collaborate with.

Their track with Stefflon Don and Yung Saber came by chance. “Some of these tunes we’d had loops we’d started and some people we reached out to,” he said, before reflecting on their track, R U SLEEPING with Dizzee Rascal. He revealed that he and Joe dropped the musician a direct message on social media, but Dizzee sadly didn’t see it.

Their luck changed when they bumped into him at a festival in Bournemouth, with the rapper instantly agreeing to jump on the record. He, however, admits the Stefflon track was very different. “We worked with Yung Saber and he dropped the lyric in the track that says ’16 shots like Stefflon Don’ and we were like ‘Imagine having her on it’.

“I think Joe had been speaking to one of her producers and studio guys, and I was like ‘Let’s just send him the tune and see if we can lock it in.’ It was a Sunday, and she came back to us and said she loved the track. It was completely random, totally unscripted,” before adding it was “organic and a mad story.”

He admits the track is a “nod” to the drum and bass sound, which has had a resurgence in recent years. Cam says the genre was “very popular” when Sigma emerged ten years ago, but has now seen a new generation of artists coming through and putting vocals on drum and bass tracks.

One singer who you wouldn’t have imagined on a drum and bass track is Paloma Faith, who joined the lads on their 2014 Number 1, Changing. “It was Ella Eyre who first did the vocal on that tune,” Cam said, but unfortunately, Ella couldn’t commit to being on the record, meaning Paloma took over.

But since their first release of Lassitude with DJ Fresh in 2010, Cam says there have been “a lot of positive moments,” but the duo have also faced “hard moments.” He said: “I think this journey of independence feels very close to home. We were very lucky to have a lot of success ten years ago.

“It was ten years ago when I was probably in a slightly different place as a man, and Joe was as well in terms of our egos. We probably didn’t handle it as well as we probably are now. It’s a very different time, the little wins we get now really mean the world to us because it’s something that we’ve put all of our effort into, all of our backing, all of my money, everything.”

He added: “I would say this journey of independence is probably a highlight for us.” Cam says that when Sigma were topping the charts, he felt as though the duo had imposter syndrome after arriving at Radio 1 to collect their Official Number 1. “I didn’t really think I should be there,” he said, adding that he was “blocking it out” as it felt “strange.”

“If we ever were to have that success again, mentally, we’d be in a different place to appreciate it more,” Cam said.

Day One is scheduled for release in October this year via DAY ONES. Jungle feat Stefflon Don and Yung Saber is available now.

Meghan and Harry’s new approach is ‘fresh nightmare for royals’

Following the Sussexes’ viral Baby Momma dance video, a PR expert explains why the rumours of a royal reality show could be bad news for their extended royal family

Meghan and Harry have dramatically changed their behaviour recently(Image: Samir Hussein/WireImage)

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could be set to film their own fly-on-the-wall documentary series which, given their history of spilling the beans, could spell trouble for the royal family. After Meghan released her now-viral twerking video, experts say there’s more signs than ever that the couple are “breaking the mould” of royal life and are ready to take steps into the lucrative world of reality television.

“It looks very much like they would love to do a reality show,” says PR guru Dermot McNamara. “She’s sharing far more of her personal, fun life with Harry and the children, and focusing on the fun and light-hearted side of themselves. Meghan is as popular as she is polarising and that makes TV gold because everyone has an opinion on her. In this throwaway, digital society we want big pop culture moments – and Meghan and Harry deliver those, so the channels will be very keen to sign them up.”

Meghan’s video very quickly became her most-watched clip on Instagram(Image: meghan/Instagram)

While Meghan is set to release the second season of her very polished With Love, Meghan series later this year, a reality show would be the first of its kind for the California-based couple. But given their history of dropping bombshells when the cameras start rolling, a source tells us that a Kardashian-esque programme could spell bad news for the UK royals.

“We can see that Meghan and Harry don’t feel they have to stay silent any more, it’s clear in the interviews they’ve done, and the other shows,” our source claims. “So if they go on to film more, and especially if they discuss their relationship with William and Kate, for example, it would probably be a nightmare for the rest of the family.”

Meghan’s twerking video, which lasts just under 90 seconds, shows a heavily pregnant Meghan, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, dancing to the Starrkeisha song The Baby Momma in an attempt to kick off her labour with Lilibet, now four.

At the time of going to press the twerking reel had amassed over 46 million views, making it Meghan’s most-watched video on her account by a long way. Only her launch video for As Ever, which was posted back in February, comes anywhere close with 27.8m views so far.

The clip inevitably created a storm online, with some followers calling it “cringe”. One person accused the couple of “ruining the reputation and respect of the royal family, one Instagram post at a time”.

Following the backlash, a national newspaper quoted a source saying that Meghan “doesn’t care about the haters in Britain” and that the clip had gone down a storm and was seen as “relatable” in the US.

The BBC’s former royal correspondent Jennie Bond, however, told the Mirror it was “utterly bizarre” of Meghan to release the clip, and that King Charles would have been “horrified” if he’d watched it.

Dermot agrees that as working royals, Kate and William have certain standards to uphold and an “image to portray and maintain”, which would likely be at odds with a reality-style show.

Meghan Markle and Prince harry
Meghan and Harry have been sharing more private, family moments(Image: meghan/Instagram)

“Reality shows and Netflix documentaries are embarrassing for the royals because they can’t and haven’t ever done them. Yes we see them being more outgoing, talking about mental health and things, but Meghan’s labour video, with her twerking and Harry ‘dad dancing’, goes beyond that.”

The fact that TV producers would no doubt welcome the couple discussing their fall-outs on camera complicates things further, he says, adding, “It often happens that one side is seen to be fighting more than the other, and no one really comes out of it looking great.”

When they stepped back as working royals and moved to the US in 2020, it was widely presumed that this was driven by the couple’s desire for privacy.

However, when their first joint Netflix series was released two years later and they were accused of hypocrisy, they hit back via an official statement from their global press secretary. This read, “The Duke and Duchess have never cited privacy as the reason for stepping back. This distorted narrative was intended to trap the couple into silence.”

According to Dermot, With Love, Meghan made it clear that there’s an appetite for the couple sharing their personal life – and that appetite is growing.

“Meghan is very happy with parts of her public life being out there and she knows there’s great interest in her life. She’s learned that this is what people are interested in, this is what she can commercialise.”

Ioan Gruffudd expecting first child with his wife Bianca weeks after wedding

Ioan Gruffudd and wife Bianca have announced they are expecting their first baby together. It comes just two months after the pair tied the knot in a lavish cliffside ceremony.

The child will be Ioan Gruffudd’s third, with the actor sharing two daughters with ex wife Alice Evans.

The Fantastic Four actor, 51, and Aussie actress Bianca, 32, shared the exciting news to Instagram on Sunday morning. The couple posted a sweet black and white photo of Ioan kissing his wife’s growing baby bump.

“Baby Gruffudd poppin’ out to say hello!” the caption read. Ioan and Bianca’s announcement was soon inundated with congratulations from their friends. One person penned: “Over the moon with excitement Mr & Mrs Gruffudd.”

Another added: “Wow!! The best news! What a lucky baby, with two caring thoughtful loving parents. Made my day!!!’ another wrote.

The happy news comes less than two months after Ioann and Bianca got married. The couple shared the news on social media by posting a grainy video of the them tying the knot. They jointly captioned their posts: ‘Mr & Mrs Gruffudd. Marriage now, wedding later.’

Actor Iaonn was seen wiping away tears in the romantic video that showed the pair saying their vows on a balcony looking out to sea. While bride Alice looked stunning in a plunging ivory gown and holding a bouquet of elegant pink roses.

The marriage came in the wake of Welsh actor Ioann’s bitter divorce from ex wife Alice Evans, with whom he shares two daughters.

Alice spoke candidly about the split, telling followers she was n ‘excruciating pain’ as she opened up about the break-up in agonising detail. The mum said in at the time of Ioann leaving in 2021 she was desperately fighting to save the relationship but said she ‘can’t see’ Ioan coming back.

The pair shared a joint statement admitting they were going through a ‘difficult time’ as their 13 year marriage crumbled. In a follow up post, Alice took to Instagram to share a photo of a broken heart and another image of a heart on a blackboard with ‘Game over’ written across it.

The couple released a joint statement saying it was a difficult time but they remain ‘committed’ to their daughters Ella and Elsie. “As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. The couple met on the set of 102 Dalmations in 2000 – when Alice was in a relationship with Pablo Picasso’s grandson Oliver. Alice and Ioan then announced their engagement six months later and tied the knot in Mexico in 2007.

They welcomed two daughters were both conceived through IVF after Alice was found to have a low antral follicle count at the age of 38. Speaking after the birth of her firstborn Ella, Alice said: “It was as close to being in heaven as I’d ever get.”

Ioann and Bianca went public with their relationship in 2021 after working together on the set of a new TV series. It was another two years before Ioann’s divorce from Alice was finalised.

During that time he went through a bitter court hearing with Alice, where he sought a restraining order against her. The actor and his new partner Bianca claimed to have endured a ‘smear campaign’ of hateful text messages, emails and social media posts from her.

Ioann also fought Alice’s request for more money for spousal support, claiming he had paid $400,000 more than he needed to. In court papers he called Alice’s claims of poverty were ‘exaggerated’ and said it’s a ‘false narrative’ that she and the children have been left destitute.

In February this year, Alice claimed she’d been evicted from her home in Los Angeles after being ‘unable to pay her rent’. The actress said her and her daughters had been forced to leave and had ‘no way of renting even the cheapest room in the city.’
