Stephen and Alec Baldwin horror car crash update as police break silence

New details have emerged about a car crash in the Hamptons involving Stephen and Alec Baldwin, as police issue a statement about the incident

Local police have shed new light on a car crash involving Alec and Stephen Baldwin that took place on Monday (13 October). The 30 Rock star was driving his wide’s Range Rover in the Hamptons and crashed it into a tree.

The two actors are thought to have escaped unscathed from the incident. The East Hampton Town Police Department have now issued a statement about the crash, which happened in rainy conditions on the side of the Montauk Highway.

Police Chief Michael D. Sarlo said: “At approximately 12:01pm on Monday, October 13th, the EHTPD responded to a motor vehicle accident on State Route 27, Pantigo Road near Cross Highway.

“A white 2023 Range Rover, operated by Alec Baldwin, with passenger Stephen Baldwin, was found to have struck a tree on the Eastbound shoulder of the roadway while avoiding the turning action of a 2020 Mack commercial truck, registered to National Waste Services out of Bay Shore, NY.

“There were no injuries reported or summons issued and the contributing factors to the accident were found to be a reaction to an uninvolved vehicle and the slippery and wet roadway conditions.”

Alec was driving Hilaria Baldwin’s white Range Rover, which is thought to have been severely damaged after hitting a tree head-on. In a video posted to Instagram on Monday, Alex blamed a rubbish truck he likened to a “whale” in size for the crash.

“I was in a car accident this morning, I’m fine,” Alec started. He continued to explain what happened. He said he had swerve to avoid a “the largest garbage truck I’ve ever seen”. He also thanked the police for their help.

He claimed another drive cut him off and that he had to swerve to avoid hitting the truck. As a result, he hit the tree. The owner of the truck assured press it was not the fault of the driver.

Fans flooded the comments with messages saying they hoped Alec and his brother were okay. In another video, Hilaria thanked fans for their kind messages and reassured fans that both Baldwin brothers were okay.

Katie Price branded ‘grim reaper’ by PETA in savage new Halloween costume

Katie Price has been slammed by PETA after getting another dog despite her track record over animals being killed in her care, as the charity have unveiled a new Halloween fancy dress kit dedicated to her

Model Katie Price has been branded the “grim reaper” amid fears another animal in her care could die.

The model, 47, last week revealed she had bought a dog who “doesn’t leave her side” despite charities having previously called for a ban on her owning animals after a string of deaths.

Now People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has created a limited-edition Halloween fancy dress kit parodying the star after the news. The kit, available for £54.99, includes a paper mask depicting Price’s face, a vest with “Grim Reaper” written on it, a “coffin” filled with dogs and cats, and a scythe.

The animal rights group previously offered Price £5,000 in exchange for a legally binding promise to stop owning pets. “Too many animals have met a grim fate under Katie Price’s ‘guardianship’,” says PETA Vice President for UK and Europe Mimi Bekhechi.

“This Halloween costume may be a joke – but the message is not: being responsible for lives and needs of animals who are entirely dependent on you is serious business. And anyone who doesn’t treat it as such needs to stick to stuffed toys.”

The Mirror has reported on how Price has been at the centre of a string of controversies around animals in her care. The star has previously been branded a “serial killer” by PETA over the deaths of at least eight animals.

Earlier this year she was blasted for letting one of her £2,000-a-pop bald cats get sunburnt during the last heatwave. In a video, she showed one with a red head and back. Stroking the cat, she said: “Oh Kevin you have been in the sun today, you have got sun burnt despite us putting sun cream on you? look at his little face.”

Four dogs – Blade, Queenie, Sharon and Sparkle – were killed by cars near her home. And one of Katie’s horses was hit by a car and killed in 2017 after escaping from a field. In 2020, dog Rolo suffocated in her home after getting stuck in an electric armchair.

Katie, 47, admitted giving him cannabis oil, but said she was unaware it was illegal to do so without a vet prescription. The mum-of-five has also announced the death of a chameleon and told how she had to put down another designer cat, Frog.

“He had a neurological disease”, she wrote in her memoir. “Within days it had spread through his body. So I cuddled him in my arms and he had to be put to sleep.”

In February, she hit back at critics of her record with animals, saying: “It’s circumstances that were out of my hands. It’s no lack of me not looking after them. I love animals, I love nurturing.”

The Halloween outfit is available on the PETA website, and all proceeds will go towards the groups work to promote responsible animal guardianship.

Tony Caunter dead: EastEnders icon who played Roy Evans in BBC soap dies aged 88

Actor Tony Caunter, famed for his role as Roy Evans in EastEnders, has died at the age of 88, his family have confirmed.

Caunter portrayed the character between 1994 and 2003, with the car dealer brought in as a romantic interest for Pat Butcher, played by Pam St Clement, before the pair tied the knot in the soap.

His family said in a statement to the PA news agency: “It is with enormous sadness that we bring the curtain down on our wonderful and hugely loved father, Tony Caunter, who died peacefully yesterday evening, just eight days after his beloved wife of 63 years, Fran, also passed away. Dad was 88 years old.

The family continued: “We would like to thank the NHS staff at Eastbourne District General Hospital for their incredible care during his final hours, and to everyone at Eastbourne Gardens nursing home for the care and compassion they have given dad over the past two months.”

They concluded their statement requesting privacy “at this extremely difficult time”. An EastEnders statement read: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Tony Caunter.

“Tony will forever be loved and respected by everyone at EastEnders for his warmth, kindness and humour as well as being greatly remembered by all those at home who instantly took Roy to their hearts.

“Roy will always be remembered for his great love of Pat, despite him famously declaring his distaste in her choice of earrings, which gave us all one of Walford’s greatest love affairs.

“Tony will never be forgotten by all those who worked alongside him for many years and everyone at EastEnders sends their love and condolences to Tony’s family and friends.”

During Caunter’s time playing Roy, one of the headline-making EastEnders storylines involved Pat’s affair with her ex, Frank Butcher, played by Mike Reid.

Caunter’s other acting roles included Pennies From Heaven, Tumbledown, and TV series Juliet Bravo. He also appeared in the TV drama series Boon, which starred EastEnders’ Michael Elphick.

“I’ve been watching 1998-2000 recently and Roy was one of the best characters. Always down on his luck but such a brilliant character! Sad to hear Tony Caunter has passed away,” one mourning fan wrote on Twitter (X) this evening as news of Caunter’s death broke.

“Very sad news. Roy was always a favourite of mine, and Tony an excellent actor,” another added, with a third penning: “Sad news rip tony.. Roy didn’t half put up with a lot of rubbish with his son Barry causing him trouble and Pat cheating with Frank. He was in a great era of the show.”

The late EastEnders actor was married to Frances Wallace for 63 years prior to her death earlier this month. They shared four children together.

Princess Kate dresses for the outdoors in exact all-weather jacket that’s still in stock

During an outing today, Kate Middleton made a quick outfit change as she swapped her Alexander McQueen trench for this season’s trendiest jacket – and we’ve found where to shop her exact look

The Prince and Princess of Wales made an unannounced appearance in Northern Ireland today, as they kicked off a series of Royal duties. William and Kate travelled to County Tyrone, where they were treated to a ride in a fire truck and watched trainee firefighters take part in drills at the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service Learning and Development College.

Earlier in the day, Kate styled a signature look of hers, donning an Alexander McQueen coat dress in olive green, but right before departing from the fire station, Kate made a shocking outfit swap, ditching the designer trench coat for a Barbour jacket we’ve seen the Duchess wear before.

The barn jacket has soared in popularity recently and has quickly been hailed as this autumn’s must-have outerwear; the Princess has today showcased its style and practical prowess. And what’s more, we know where to shop Kate’s exact coat.

Giving a nod to a style adored by the late Queen Elizabeth II, who adored wearing her Barbour Green Waxed Beaufort Jacket (£299) when out in the country. Kate took notes from the Queen’s iconic looks today, as she sported a beloved Barbour jacket of her own.

Kate switched her McQueen coat dress for this Barbour Winter Defence Wax Jacket (£269), a piece we’ve seen her wear before in 2021.

Described as an update on Barbour’s classic Defence style, Kate’s beloved jacket features a heavier-weight waxed cotton outer, providing extra warmth and protection against the elements, making it a must-have piece as we head deeper into autumn and as we transition into the winter months.

Touted as a practical yet stylish jacket that’s sure to be perfect for any occasion, from country walks to daily wear, this jacket boasts a cosy polyester lining and comes finished with Barbour’s iconic tartan, a signature style adored by the Royals, which adds an extra heritage appeal.

Designed with utility in mind, Kate’s Winter Defence jacket features shoulder epaulettes and four stud-close utility pockets, ideal for storing essentials on the go. Armed with a zip fastening and a studded storm flap, this piece ensures you stay protected from the winter weather, while the cord-lined funnel neck adds a touch of comfort and timeless style.

Kate’s exact Barbour jacket is up for grabs from House Of Bruar for £269 in Kate’s go-to Olive shade. This jacket is currently available in nearly all sizes, with only size 16 temporarily out of stock.

For those looking to secure the Royal style on a smaller budget, don’t worry, we’ve found plenty of must-have barn jacket styles that emulate Kate’s look without needing a Royal bank account.

Marks & Spencer currently has a range of similar styles available, including this Waxed Pure Cotton Utility Jacket (£130) in the Royal-approved Olive shade. Available in sizes 8 to 24, this collared jacket from the Per Una collection is made from British Millerain waxed pure cotton and delivers a stylish finish just like that of the Duchess. This jacket is cut in a regular fit, with a concealed zip and popper fastening. Turn-back cuffs and buttoned flap pockets on the front create a utility-inspired look, mimicking Kate’s Barbour piece, and it’s fully lined for comfort and plenty of warmth this autumn.

Kylie Jenner’s music debut slammed as ‘completely mortifying’ – ‘Nobody asked for this’

Reality TV star and makeup mogul Kylie Jenner launches her music career as King Kylie with Terror Jr collab Fourth Strike but fans have called her music debut ‘cringe’

Kylie Jenner has launched her music career with a feature on Terror Jr’s new single Fourth Strike, released on Monday night, but not all of her fans are convinced by her vocal skills.

The 28-year-old entrepreneur, best known for The Kardashians and her billion-dollar cosmetics brand, appears on the track under her revived alter ego King Kylie, a nod to her social media persona from 2014 to 2016.

Fourth Strike is a follow-up to Terror Jr’s 2016 single Three Strikes, which featured in a Kylie Cosmetics campaign and sparked rumours that Jenner was secretly the singer. This time, she confirmed her involvement, performing the bridge and closing the track with a whispered “King Kylie.”

On the song, Jenner can be heard singing: “I just wanna tell you, I’m sorry / Touch me, baby, tell me I’m your baby / Write your name all over my body.”

Reactions to Jenner’s musical debut were divided however as one fan wrote on X: “How embarrassing, king autotune,” while another commented: “Oh baby, stick to the lip kits.”

Others were more critical, with one user adding: “Oh great, just what the world needed – Kylie Jenner thinking she’s a pop star now. Someone please tell her ‘vocal range’ doesn’t mean whispering over autotune.”

Another joked: “Kylie Jenner making music is the biggest recession indicator. Nobody asked for that s***.”

Jenner addressed her decision to collaborate with Terror Jr in an Instagram post following the song’s release, sharing photos from the studio and a video of her daughter Stormi, seven, singing along.

“There was a little rumor 10 years ago that I was the one actually singing on Three Strikes,” Jenner wrote. “It wasn’t me (wish it was) so I had the idea to come together for Fourth Strike and it would actually be ME FEATURED!”

She thanked Terror Jr “for making another perfect song,” adding that she was “soooooo nervous but so grateful.”

Alongside her first music release, Jenner announced that her new King Kylie cosmetics collection will launch on October 18. The line is inspired by her early online persona and marks what she called the return of her “fearless era.”

“I’ve seen all your messages asking for a King Kylie collection, the fearless era that had a dream at just 17 years old,” she said. “That’s why I posted that tweet back in 2022. I wanted to give you exactly what you’ve been waiting for.”

Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas breaks silence on show’s comeback and Emily Atack’s role

Joe Thomas tells Mirror exclusively about his excitement for a The Inbetweeners reunion and if the core four will be joined by Rivals star Emily Atack

The Inbetweeners? Completed it mate! Except maybe we haven’t – a new instalment of the iconic show is on the horizon, with its creators revealing they were “plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends (ooh friends).” And Joe Thomas would love to be in it.

Talking to the Mirror, Joe opens up about his excitement for an Inbetweeners reunion and whether Emily Atack will be back as Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe. This week it was announced that the production team behind the show, Fudge Park, had signed a deal with mega TV production company Banijay, in a move that “paved the way” for an Inbetweeners return.

And despite having to film embarrassing scenes such as walking down a catwalk in speedos with one testicle hanging out, Joe, who played lovestruck schoolboy Simon Cooper, would love to work with everyone again.

“I just love them,” he gushes. “I love being around them. And I’ve worked with them in other contexts as well – really I’ve taken every opportunity to work with one of that group ever since the show ended.”

He really has. Joe was in a TV show called Chickens with Simon Bird, started a podcast called Fact up with James Buckley and has been in The Festival, which was directed by the Inbetweeners creator Iain Morris. “I’ve got my podcast with James, me and Simon go back to university, and Blake Harrison is a great friend, so I love working with them,” Joe says. “So in some capacity, of course! Working on it again would be wonderful.”

He’s not at all surprised that fans want Emily Atack back as well. Emily played Charlotte Hinchcliffe, who was an ever so sweet and large breasted recurring character in the first two series of The Inbetweeners on TV, but didn’t appear in the two blockbuster movies or reunion show.

Having since hosted her own ITV2 comedy series, The Emily Atack Show, and starred in the bonktastic hit Rivals, Emily’s career is massively impressive to Joe.

“I actually haven’t spoken to Emily recently, but I’ve followed her career,” he says. “I just think it’s really, really impressive how she’s built this fantastic career from not just acting, but also her own personality and being funny and being herself.

“And what strikes me is just how much talent there is in the cast. So many other people have gone on to have these amazing careers in their own right, doing stand-up or just being funny.

“And I think that is a really, really good sign in comedy that people are not just comedy actors, but they’re creators as well. And Emily is that. So, I’m not surprised that there’s a clamour for her to come back as well.”

Joe’s also had quite the career since the Inbetweeners ended. Most notably, he starred with Jack Whitehall in Fresh Meat, a series about university students and their house share. The show has had a lasting impact as it’s led Joe to what he’s doing now – launching the Unofficial Housemate Rulebook with app Quizlet to help university students transition to living in shared accommodation.

Article continues below

For Joe, the house the characters shared in Fresh Meat was incredibly realistic. “It was the best set I’ve ever worked with. It was also just totally disgusting, like they’d taken a real house in Manchester and recreated it mould for mould.”

But with his new campaign and the data Quizlet have collected that proves what housemate habits are hated the most – yes, it’s when dishes are left in the sink – houses like these can be avoided. By following the guidebook and building better habits, students all over the country can tune in to watch The Inbetweeners all over again in a lovely, clean house.
