Strictly’s George Clarke opens up on mum’s cancer as pressure mounts

George Clarke, a YouTuber for Strictly Come Dancing, admits to feeling the pressure as rehearsals get going, while Alexis Warr, a partner, claims he needs breakfast and sleep.

George Clarke is feeling the pressure – but he admits he gets a kick out of being half of Strictly’s golden couple. He and Alexis Warr danced the quickstep to Frank Sinatra’s I Get a Kick Out of You on last night’s show, in an attempt to top their score of 39 out of 40 in Blackpool last week.

As rehearsals get harder each week, YouTuber George, 25, said he is “going a little mental.” And Alexis, a professional partner, says it’s important for him to eat breakfast and sleep well.

The pair are still riding high after Blackpool and George says his body is finally adapting to Strictly life. “I think I’m getting fitter,” he says hopefully. “There is pressure now. It’s nice to dream, but we try to focus on each week.”

We don’t try to manifest anything, Alexis says, because you’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t. We’re just having fun with it.

George has gained a whole new fanbase thanks to his endearing performance on the Saturday night staple, including the Strictly mothers. He claims that Sue, a regular Strictly vlogger, is constantly bumping into us while we are outside Elstree Studios. She requested the photo because she had previously been unable to work her phone. Then a youngster asked, “Yo, what’s my man doing here?” and the next person to notice me. “

His nan, however, is the one who cheers the loudest. “George says she’s been amazing. She doesn’t usually vote, but she has been using my five votes every week.

Alexis, 25, recalls anticipating a fun partnership with George right away. He’s funny, funny, witty, smart, and proper, she says.

The pair insist that there is no rivalry roiling the backstage despite Strictly being a competition. “Alexis says” that George leads the group in cheers. It is so adorable. The results show is “the worst part of the week,” according to George. Everyone works so hard, and somebody needs to leave, he said.

The most heartfelt aspect of George’s Strictly journey is supporting his recently diagnosed cancer-positive mother, though. She’s class, “he says”. She simply asks, “Are you eating enough? ” This week’s dance, how’s it going? It merely displays her personality.

On the show, George made the announcement in a VT. The TikTok sensation revealed that his mother had previously experienced health issues. George directly addressed the audience, “Unfortunately, she was recently diagnosed with cancer. Nobody, but especially her, deserves what she has endured. She now feels that so much of her life is being taken up.

Before revealing the tragic cancer news, he opened up about her previous health battles. He recalled: “When I was 16, I was about to leave for hockey practise with my dad and he said ‘oh I’ll just check on mum one more time because she was feeling a bit ill. “Nobody deserves what she has gone through, but least of all her.”

She was having a seizure when he went upstairs. Encephalitis, a brain inflammation, was discovered on her.

Speaking to his professional partner Alexis Warr, he then added: “I had no idea what it was and most people that do know is because it has affected them in a horrible way.”

She is “the kindest person I’ve ever met.” She apologized when she left the hospital.

Nicky and her husband, Shaun, watched the heartfelt performance alongside their parents. The judges thanked George for his candor in explaining his diagnosis to his mother after the performance. Judge Motsi Mabuse continued, “I wish her all the best and that we can lead this life together.”

Nicola McLean confronts Kelly Brook trolls: ‘Beautiful women aren’t allowed to age’

ExCLUSIVE: Nicola McLean claims Vogue Williams and Lisa Riley are getting a better ride for Kelly Brook despite the double standards she’s encountered in the jungle.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Nicola McLean, defends Kelly Brook over the double standards and why Vogue Williams and Lisa Riley are getting an easier ride in the jungle.

When Kelly Brook signed up for I’m A Celeb, she was looking forward to the experience changing her “whole outlook on life”. But sadly, the focus was on her appearance as she landed in Australia last month, with vile trolls suggesting she might have been going into the jungle to lose weight. One person quipped, “Must have booked extra seats on the plane.”

Kelly’s awful experience is all too familiar for former glamour model Nicola McLean, who was also trolled for her looks when she headed Down Under in 2008.

“My massive implants horrendously trolled me when I was in the jungle.” You can’t be a woman, asserts Nicola. She felt she had to explain why she doesn’t look the same as she did in her 20s and make reference to her size even before Kelly entered, which is disappointing.

Nicola, 44, has been open about suffering with eating disorders throughout her life, having battled bulimia from the age of 11 as well as anorexia and body dysmorphia. The mum of two has told fans she’s trying to remember she’s “more than a number” on the scales and, earlier this year, admitted she lied to get weight-loss jabs.

After receiving horrible messages about her weight following a string of TV appearances last year, Nicola found herself back in a dark place – forcing herself to lose weight, and booking in several cosmetic treatments.

“I put on a little weight last year because I only started eating normally,” says Nicola. “But I watched a horrible troll and went on TV.” She said, “She’s got so much fat.” That resulted in weight loss. I also went to get fillers, salmon sperm, and more Botox. Because I’m so self-conscious about my appearance, comments about my looks make me feel like a fool. When people point out the flaws and ask, “What’s happened to her?” I’m devastated because she appears to be a tank.

“People now claim that I look fantastic. However, no one knows how difficult it is for me to stay this large in order to make people accept me when I do my job.

Nicola says watching this year’s I’m A Celeb has made it all too apparent that there are different beauty standards for women dependent on age, and only some are deemed ‘aesthetically acceptable’.

“It’s as if beautiful women aren’t allowed to age. Ruby Wax avoids criticism of her body as she’s 72, but somehow Kelly is not allowed to look her 46 years,” she explains. “Vogue Williams and Myleene Klass are seen as aesthetically acceptable in the jungle. They’re both slim but not too skinny, and haven’t had lots of work done.

They won’t be as vicious as Kelly is. Since I have my boobs done, I am not seen in the same way as Vogue and Myleene because I am plastic.

Due to this, Nicola is steadfast in teaching the realities of realistic beauty standards to her two teenage boys, Rocky, 19, and Striker, 15, respectively. Never has she resisted sharing the work she has done with her children.

“Their mother had double G boobs,” they said. She says I would tell them I was getting Botox because I wanted them to know that wasn’t real from a young age. I never wanted them to reach that age and consider whether someone who doesn’t have massive boobs is improper.

Tom Williams, Nicola’s ex-football player, is concerned about her having more surgery, but Nicola’s husband supports her. Nicola states, “Tom has been through it all.” He advises me to ignore the trolls, and I am astounded when people make comments about me being a “s**t mum,” knowing that it is a lie.

“But I’m insecure about my looks and my weight. He just tells me to be careful because I’ve had three boob jobs. The last one went wrong, and now I’m terrified.”

Despite being subjected to cruel remark in the jungle, Nicola gained from it. She had the opportunity to embrace her natural beauty for the first time ever. Tom never saw me without makeup when I entered, she says. That insecurities plagued me. When we had to remove our makeup in the jungle, I sobbed. But I finally mastered accepting my face. It gave me the most amazing sense of confidence for a while.

Pamela Anderson has received praise for avoiding wearing makeup, according to Nicola. She said, “F*** this, I’m spinning this on the head and I’m going to reinvent myself.” She is amazing.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden gives health update after undergoing another mastectomy

After being forced to leave Strictly Come Dancing to have a mastectomy and recover from the operation, Amy Dowden has received a new update on her health.

Amy Dowden has given a health update after dropping out early on Strictly Come Dancing this year. The 35-year-old professional dancer has batted cancer and severe infection in recent years.

After revealing in May 2023 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, the Welsh star, who has been a part of Strictly since 2017, chronicled her battles with her health. Amy has continued to receive medical care despite receiving a diagnosis in February 2024 from doctors.

Amy made the announcement earlier this month that she was having a mastectomy, but she claimed it wasn’t a new cancer diagnosis that had caused the procedure. Amy revealed more details about her most recent operation on Friday during her appearance on The One Show.

Alex Jones, the host of the show, questioned, “We know you’ve had another op. What’s your current state of mind? The Strictly star then responded, “Do you know that I’m feeling really well?. “Thank you.”

Amy explained the operation by saying, “Three weeks ago yesterday, I had yet another mastectomy.” The first week to ten days were rough, but I left feeling better and more resilient.

She continued, “I’m just itching to go back on the dance floor once I’ve recovered.” I’m not going to rush it, of course, but I’m doing really well. “Thank you.”

Then Alex said, “You look at a picture of health. “As always.” While co-host Clara stated that “eyes are sparkling. I’m so happy to have you here.

Amy was thrilled to be chosen as the 2025 season’s main dancer for Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year. Tom Skinner and her husband, who had previously been eliminated from the series, were paired with her.

While Amy was forced to leave the show to go through her most recent surgery, professional dancers are still on the show to perform dance routines.

Discussing her health in a post shared on Instagram earlier this month, she wrote: “As you all know I’ve always been very open about my health and the care I receive. So I’d like to start by being clear what I am about to share is not to treat a new cancer diagnosis.

However, I’ve made the decision to have another mastectomy this week following a recent appointment with my incredible medical team.

She continued, “They’re confident that I can expect a straightforward recovery given everything going well.” I look forward to returning to my traditional family once I’ve recovered. I’ll miss it a lot, but I’ll be watching from home and looking forward to cheering everyone on.

Amy continued, “Thank you for your continued support.

The dancer also stated that she hopes to return to Strictly in 2026, but Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, the show’s hosts, have both announced their exits from the series.

JoJo Siwa rushed to hospital in excruciating pain as she’s left ‘unable to breathe’

Just before her Friday performance at the Mall of America, JoJo Siwa was taken to the hospital with a burst ovarian cyst, but despite the medical emergency, the actress continued to perform.

JoJo Siwa has given fans an update on her health after being rushed to hospital in ‘excruciating pain’ just hours before her latest performance on Friday.

The Dance Moms star, 22, took to TikTok and revealed she was left ‘unable to breathe’ and ‘almost blacking out’ before doctors discovered a cyst on her ovary had burst. In a detailed post on Saturday, JoJo recalled the intense pain that required her mum’s assistance to get dressed before emergency services whisked her off to hospital.

There are many people at the Mall of America waiting and counting on this performance, but we told the doctors to look, “Once we have something like we, we need emergency surgery wrong or something like that.”

JoJo continued to share how she was soon ‘dancing in her hospital bed’ thanks to the pain relief, before an ultrasound revealed the burst cyst was bleeding into her stomach.

After being assured by medical professionals that the situation would end, the dancer bravely carried on with her scheduled performance in a Minnesota mall. JoJo thanked her supporters for their support, saying she was “not 100%” and would need to go back to the hospital if the pain continued.

She wrote, “Thank you for all the well wishes, grateful for the doctors and nurses for working so quickly and helping me get back on time, keep it moving.”

A woman’s ovary develops an fluid-filled sac called an ovarian cyst. They are very prevalent and typically don’t give off any symptoms.

Most ovarian cysts vanish without any treatment in a few months and are naturally occurring. JoJo shared videos of her lively recovery from the hospital. She released a number of hits, including Little Drummer Girl’s new holiday single, a cover of Message To The World.

Just last week, JoJo revealed she was taking a significant step in her relationship with Chris Hughes. She took to Instagram to announce they would be spending Christmas together.

In their festive pyjamas, the Dance Moms star posted loved-up photos, gazing affectionately at the Love Island star, 32, as she explained her plans to travel to the UK for December 25. She will celebrate Christmas with her family in America a week early before jetting off overseas.

Updating her followers, she wrote: “My favourite season. I’ve spent the last three days prepping and getting ready for the holidays, and it’s been LOVELY. It might seem early however, today I start rehearsals for my Black Friday performance at Mall of America and then I go to a couple of dance studios for meet and greet/classes and then it’s my mum’s birthday and then we celebrate Christmas with my family a week early, so I can travel to England for Christmas!… long story, short, it’s Christmas now:)”.

JoJo sparked an unexpected romance with Chris after they met on Celebrity Big Brother UK earlier this year. And as things moved from friendship to romance, their relationship has only grown stronger, with Chris being warmly welcomed into JoJo’s life.

During her recent tour, JoJo Siwa referred to boyfriend Chris’ parents as her ‘future in-laws’, after they attended her concert in Birmingham. She addressed the crowd, mentioning she had some ‘guests of honour’ at the show.

Chris was photographed with JoJo’s parents Tom and Jessalynn along with his parents Val and Paul and brother Ben, who had surprised him with flowers backstage. JoJo jokingly acknowledged Chris’ parents during a performance at the concert, which JoJo claimed would be “beyond her best behavior.”

She said: “Val give us your best wave from up there, do you have a good wave? In case that anybody doesn’t know, that’s the person who gave birth to my favourite person in the world. That’s the mother of the boy that makes me really happy. I’m very delighted to have the guests of honour tonight, Val and Paul Hughes everyone.”

JoJo continued, “I’m on my best behavior this show,” and the crowd booed her. “Guys! ! ! “, JoJo responded. In the room are my future mothers and daughters. Tonight I can’t be too freaky.

Chris surprised JoJo backstage with a bouquet of flowers before the concert, telling her he had made the impromptu decision to attend because he hadn’t been going to see her in a while.
