Cat Deeley opens up on ‘row’ as she provides brutal response to ex Patrick Kielty question

Over the past 20 years, This Morning star Cat Deeley has hosted on shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, The One Show, and This Morning. She has also appeared on television regularly.

When asked if she could co-host a show with her ex-husband Patrick Kielty, This Morning’s star Cat Deeley retorted sharply.

After 13 years of marriage, the couple unexpectedly split up earlier this year. They have typically kept their relationship a secret.

However, Cat, who is celebrating her 49th birthday today (Thursday, October 23), provided a rare insight into her relationship with the County Down-born Patrick during an appearance on the Live with Kelly and Mark Show last year.

Prior to the announcement of their split, the This Morning presenter revealed to hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos that she was not keen on the idea of presenting the ITV show alongside Patrick.

She continued, “As a stand-up comedian and host, there was some doubt at the time about whether my husband would do it.” So everyone said, “Oh, is he going to do it with you as well,” and I replied, “No thank you.”

What happens if you have a row at home, Cat responded when Kelly said it might be “surprisingly pleasant”?

Cat and Patrick first met while co-presenting the BBC talent show Fame Academy in 2002. They remained friends for many years until 2011, when Patrick flew to Los Angeles to attend Cat’s birthday brunch, turning their friendship into a romantic relationship. Less than a year later, they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Rome.

The couple has now welcomed two sons: James, who was born in 2016, and Milo, who was born almost two and a half years later.

However, they broke up earlier this year and made a statement about their split after 13 years of marriage. We have decided to end our marriage, and we are now separated, according to a joint statement from them. No other party is involved, really.

Dua Lipa says sex should be ‘fun and safe’ in bid to raise awareness around HIV

Dua Lipa, a global popstar, has won a lot of online support after making an argument about the value of safe sex and PrEP, a drug that can stop HIV infection.

British pop icon Dua Lipa has been making waves by drawing attention to PrEP, a drug which prevents people from contracting HIV.

The 30-year-old singer recently starred as a surprise special guest at a celebration for the first-ever National PrEP Day by MISTR, held at The Abbey in West Hollywood on October 9. She performed with major stars like Cardi B, Demi Lovato and Kim Petras, alongside famous Drag Race queens.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Dua Lipa said she wished to “de-stigmatise” HIV and expressed her hope that it would one day be eradicated.

According to Dua, “I think there is a lot of stigma surrounding] HIV and sexually transmitted infections, and I think if we can break that stigma, we can have the best possible chance of getting the right healthcare for it.” I believe safe and enjoyable sex should be practiced.

Many fans praised Dua for speaking out about a topic that is typically taboo in online forums. HIV-AIDS could, in the long run, become a footnote, a dark and significant one, in public health history, according to one Redditor.

Your immune system is weakened by the human immunodeficiency virus, which raises your risk of developing serious illness. The majority of it is transmitted via oral, anal, and vaginal sex. There is still no cure, despite the fact that it can be treated.

One proven way to reduce the number of HIV cases is for those at risk to take PrEP. A trial conducted between 2017 and 2020 found the use of HIV PrEP reduced the chances of getting HIV by 86% and reduced HIV acquisition in real-world settings across several years.

Fortunately, awareness is increasing. According to a 2025 report, the number of people taking PrEP in sexual health services has continued to increase annually in the UK, with 111,123 accessing the medication in 2024 – a 7.7% uptick from 103,138 in 2023.

The most recent UK-wide estimate shows that there are around 113,500 people living with HIV in Britain. Meanwhile, according to the National Aids Trust, this figure has been increasing. A total of 107,949 people received HIV care in 2023 in the UK, representing a jump of 27% over the last 10 years.

But despite the uptick in cases, a 2022 government report found that stigma, alongside other mental health issues, are still a barrier for those seeking treatment.

Nick Grimshaw & Angela Hartnett on the one dinner party guest they can’t agree on

The hosts of the Dish from Waitrose podcast, broadcasting legend Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett, reveal what truly makes a great night in Las Vegas.

Avoid making things complicated…

Angela: Cook something easy! So many people get stressed about it, making it too fancy and acting like they’re on Masterchef. Just stick to something simple. It’s the same for christmas-dinner>Christmas dinner, you don’t need six vegetables – just do the two you’d stick with your Sunday roast. You don’t want to be spending your whole evening in the kitchen.

Nick, I’m guilty of this. I always try to make a recipe that I’ve never tried before, which is terrible because I’m trying to concentrate (is that a tablespoon or a teaspoon?)! when I should be entertaining my friends. You’ve never visited anyone’s home, so why would you think “well, this better be good”? Simply put, people enjoy being catered for.

PUD! Maltesers!

Angela: I like to start with a really simple salad with seasonal ingredients like pumpkin and beetroot. A one-pot wonder chicken cooked with rice and spices might serve as the main dish. This was something I recently did on the Waitrose podcast Dish. A box of Maltesers or some cheese for dessert is also available.

Nick: I adore crab on toast because the fishmongers put in some nice mayonnaise on top of the toast. topped with some watercress. then roast potatoes, a delicious salad, and creamy tarragon sauce on top. to finish slog.

Cocktails that pique the crowds

Nick, I like a dirty martini before dinner. Nothing says “it’s night time now” like a martini, and they’re delicious, simple, and delicious. Campari spritz is another thing I enjoy. Of course, there is wine. My favorite beverage is a minerally white wine that is freezing cold.

Angela, I would either drink a negroni or a gin and tonic. Champagne or sparkling wine are always available. then some white and red.

The music is not to be missed.

Angela, I can add anything I like to an album of Shazam, and they are all set to play there. Nick has just introduced me to Geese, and I’m currently really into Lola Young. The Carpenters and Bobby Womack are also featured. If someone comes over to you because of the music, do you feel that they will judge you?

Nick, I have a ton of playlists. I have a love of all kinds. I’m currently a fan of the Cameron Winter album, I love the Seventies, and I’m a fan of Stevie Wonder.

A good dinner party guest is…

Nick: A good conversationalist who also asks questions and is generous with their time. Someone who leaves their phone at home.

Angela, no phones should be allowed around the dinner table.

Dream guests list

Because of her humor, Nick is Cathy Burke. Bob Mortimer is admired for his hilarious and sweet personality. Jones, Grace

Sandi Toksvig, Angela, is amazing. Prince .

Nick: I’m not sure if Prince would like to go there because I’m too fond of Prince and I’m not sure if we should have a conversation about potatoes there.

Angela, you need people who can command your respect at a table, like Larry David and Richard E. Grant. Margolyes, Miriam

Oh my goodness, yes, Nick.

Sharing food is joyful.

Angela, socializing requires a lot of eating. Many people don’t have much money these days, which is difficult. Even if it’s just a cup of tea, sitting around a table is still important. You’re discovering what’s happening in each other’s lives, and particularly as a family, it’s important to catch up. Restaurants and bars are excellent for the local community as well. You lose a pub in a small town, and you lose a social gathering place where someone who may have lost their spouse or children has moved away socialized.

The best comfort food

Nick: A big jacket potato that has been baked for ages before being spread with lots of butter and salt. Sharp cheddar cheese was grated on top of it, and it had crispy skin. A sprinkle, not a lot, but a few beans. also pepper

Stews, please, for me. Moreover, potatoes. For pudding, crumble.

Anything on the menu?

Angela, I’ll try everything once. With the exception of pineapple and coriander, please.

Nick: I eat everything, and I’m a dustbin. excluding gluten.

How do you let your guests leave, in the end?

Nick, I really enjoy hosting morning radio for that!

Angela, I just say it’s time to leave. You must be brutal, must you.

Celebrity Traitors star Celia Imrie makes cheeky confession about rival contestant

Celia Imrie, who was in Thursday Murder Club, had a suspicion that Jonathan Ross might be a bad guy in the BBC series Celebrity Traitors, in which Welsh singer Charlotte Church was “murdered” yesterday.

Veteran actress Celia Imrie told Jonathan Ross she has “a bit of a crush” on him during last night’s Celebrity Traitors.

The performer, who participated in Thursday Murder Club this year, admitted that Ross, 64, might be a traitor. Following the roundtable discussion on Wednesday’s drama-packed episode, Imrie, 73, voted to fire him.

Imrie, who has worked in numerous well-known dramas and films for the past five decades, said, “This is a little tricky because I have a bit of a crush on you right now, but I put you Jonathan because I believe you have the chutzpah and brilliance to be a traitor.”

Presenter Claudia Winkleman declared the banishment would be left to chance after two rounds of voting ended with Scottish actor Mark Bonnar and historian David Olusoga receiving equal numbers of votes.

Following a roundtable discussion where contestants debate the identities of the secret traitors who meet at night to plot their next “murder,” the episode ended before the banishment’s conclusion, in an effort to extort the charity prize pot from the faithfuls.

In a number of scenes with Imrie, including one where she audibly passed wind while on a stressful job in a cabin, which caused the audience’s fellow cast members to chuckle all over the place.

Another Imrie clip, which featured her improvising to the sound of a banshee for a challenge, was made into a meme.

Until Imrie’s confession, none of the Traitors – Ross, Alan Carr, and Cat Burns – had really even been suspected – but is their time running out and are the Faithfuls finally onto them?

Earlier in the episode, Welsh singer Charlotte Church became the latest contestant to be “murdered” by the traitors – comedian Alan Carr, TV presenter Jonathan Ross and singer Cat Burns – who had plotted their next move during last Thursday’s episode.

Mum thought Taylor Swift’s £75,000 donation to daughter’s cancer appeal was a prank

Two-year-old Lilah Smoot had a seizure at home, and an MRI revealed a tumour on her brain, which, despite being removed, was a very uncommon cancer.

A mum thought Taylor Swift’s $100,000 (£75,000) donation to her daughter’s GoFundMe amid her gruelling cancer journey was a joke.

Katelynn Smoot’s life was shattered when her then 18-month-old daughter Lilah was diagnosed with ATRT — atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumour — a very rare and aggressive tumour. She shared her family’s journey on Instagram and TikTok, and a video of her toddler dancing to Swift’s tune Fortnight.

Swift, a 35-year-old woman, immediately donated the sizable sum to the fundraiser, increasing its value by a third. The treatment Lilah needs now fits her budget. Knowing that Swift saw our video makes me enthralled, said mother-of-two Katelynn.

The donation is incredible, but it means a lot that she took the time to watch, care, and communicate that message. The Swifties ran after her donation, which led to her death. She’s almost doubled her donation right now. Thank you is something I feel inadequate for.

As ATRT is so rare, there is only one known treatment pathway — and it involves two rounds of induction chemotherapy, three rounds of high-dose chemo with stem cell rescue, and six weeks of proton radiation. The family’s closest children’s hospitals do not offer all of the treatment plan, such as the proton radiation.

There is a 100% chance that Lilah will pass away if you don’t treat her cancer. There aren’t many treatment options because it’s so uncommon; “Katelynn, from North Carolina, continued. There is really only one protocol that has been used for the past 25 years.”

The brave youngster has overcome all of her difficulties, and her mother earlier this month captured her on camera dancing to Fortnight. Lilah, now two, looked at the screen and said, “That’s my friend,” mid-dance. The adorable clip was shared on Katelynn’s social media account.

Katelynn continued, “I didn’t even realize what she said at first… That’s your friend, I asked, “What’s your name?” and she responded, “Yes.” And to be honest, they really have a… People really believe Taylor is going to see this, I joked to my husband. You never know, he said to me. But I had no real hopes that she would.

Swift, who has 14 Grammys, was able to see the video. Tyler, Katelynn’s husband, called his wife to let her know about her donation after seeing it. Katelynn was certain he was ending her, but a GoFundMe message less than an hour later left her confused.

The mum told People: “At first, I thought he was joking. For about 30 minutes, we questioned if it was real. But then we saw it come through on the back end of GoFundMe, along with a message that said, ‘Sending you the biggest hug to my friend Lilah.’ That’s when I knew Taylor really saw the video — and she meant it.”

Lilah saw the artist on the iPad and once more said, “That is my friend,” as they filmed a thank-you message. The singer’s family has not spoken to him, but they did express gratitude last night.

She said, “She’s a very busy woman, and what she did was more than enough.” I’m just hoping she realizes our gratitude. She reportedly extended the biggest hug to us, Katelynn said.

It’s just that she has a happy life, no matter how short or long it may be, she says to be completely accurate about her hopes and dreams (Lilah). I just want her life to be joyful, full of experiences, and memories.

Lesley Joseph struggling with ‘tremendous guilt’ over grandchildren

Lesley Joseph, the star of Birds of a Feather, revealed in a rare family confession about how her job affects being a grandmother.

Lesley Joseph has candidly confessed to feeling a “tremendous guilt” due to her lack of time spent with her grandchildren. The Birds Of A Feather star, 80, has had a glittering career that spans over six decades.

She acknowledged that she could be more focused on her family’s needs during a conversation at the Sunday Variety Club Showbusiness Awards in London, where she received the Outstanding Contribution to Theatre and Television award.

Lesley, who previously dated Carl Littlejohn and has two children, Andrew and Elizabeth, rarely talks about her family obligations. She has now admitted to feeling guilty for “not being the grandmother my kids probably expected.”

She then acknowledged that her family issues had gotten in the way of her career. She explained that she had never attended a school or had babysitting when discussing having grandkids for the first time. Simply put, I find it difficult to refuse acting positions.

One of her rare private conversations has taken place here. She mentioned losing her mother in 2016.

She said losing a parent when you’re older is difficult because you’ve “had them all your life,” but that it’s also difficult because they don’t get old with you.

She remarked, “My mother and I had a very close relationship. She was the last of the 12 to pass away. In my head, I communicate with her daily.

She had a lifelong thirst, and I don’t think you ever forget that. Hopefully, touch wood, I have her genes.

Lesley also recently admitted to the pressure of staying slim. The actress, who has had a hugely successful theatre career following her on-screen antics, spoke to Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid.

Richard then inquired of her about the weight issue during her time on the show after opening up about her role as Dorien on the renowned sitcom. He questioned whether it was accurate to say that she felt called upon to play the role.

I’ve always had to work hard to maintain my weight, Lesley said, “She was]a skinny bean.” We have an awards ceremony on Sunday, which is similar to today, and I have to work hard to keep my weight down to fit in a tight dress.

As well as Birds Of A Feather, Lesley has appeared on stage in Sister Act: The Musical and The Addams Family. Other touring productions she has starred in include shows such as Thoroughly Modern Millie, while she regularly played the part of Miss Hannigan in Annie.

Next year, from February, she will be seen in a production of Road in Manchester opposite comedienne Lucy Beaumont and former Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati.
