Lorraine Kelly issues ‘horrid’ health update after hiding swelling under sunglasses

Lorraine Kelly had to wear sunglasses indoors after a nasty spill resulted in something “horrid” happening to her. While on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, the beloved TV host congratulated Scott for securing the breakfast slot, taking over from Zoe Ball earlier this year.
After their chat, Scott addressed the “elephant in the room”, noting that Lorraine was sporting the “most showbiz pair” of sunglasses in the studio and hadn’t yet removed them.
He then asked her to explain her eyewear choice, suggesting she was channelling Donatella Versace vibes. Lorraine revealed that the cause was an oversized pair of slippers and a rhino.
She explained: “Well, I fell over. I fell over and had washing in my hands, as you do in a big washing basket,” to which Scott retorted that she wasn’t old enough to “have a fall”.
She went on: “There was a step and then I fell over the step in my slippers; they’re too big for me, and I landed on a rhino. We’ve got a massive big wooden rhino that we brought back from Africa.
“Have you not got a wooden rhino? I thought everybody had a wooden rhino, and the thing is, it’s made of real solid wood so I… and I couldn’t stop myself because my hands were full of washing. Do you want to see it? Are you sure? Because it’s horrid. “
Lorraine had a light-hearted moment with the Radio 2 host when she took off her specs to reveal an eye injury, prompting the DJ to call it a “cracker”.
She also mentioned that the swelling led people to believe she had fillers, though she made it clear she hadn’t.
In other Lorraine news, the ITV legend gave her opinion on the Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which kicked off on March 4. The docuseries follows Meghan interviewing famous faces while offering lifestyle and culinary tips.
Lorraine told Ross King on her show: “I was not offended in any way, but it was a wee bit dull. It’s just not my thing. I wouldn’t watch shows like that normally anyway. I saw the first episode, that was enough – fair play to her, she’s launching her business. “
