Sustainability influencer slams Kate Moss’ ‘overpriced’ Glastonbury-inspired Zara range

Dr. Brett Staniland, a sustainable fashion editor, criticizes Kate Moss and Zara’s festival-inspired collection as being “overpriced” and “plastic” and says Gen Z won’t be interested.

A sustainable fashion influencer is calling out Kate Moss and Zara for trying to ‘cheat-code’ their way into a festival edit – completely missing the point of festival dressing. The new collection is “overpriced” and “plastic” according to Dr Brett Staniland, who has accused Zara of haute-washing.

Fast fashion companies make an effort to use marketing and aesthetics to convey to consumers a confused sense of craftsmanship, similar to greenwashing.

Kate Moss partnered with Zara for a second-time, launching a festival-inspired collection on the heels of Glastonbury. The collection features waistcoats, a silk print dress, camisoles, and shorts.

Moss’ Glastonbury style – much like Alexa Chung’s – was era-defining, but Dr Staniland has claimed that Zara is using the famous icon to cover up a low-effort and plastic-heavy collection.

Dr Staniland – known better as TwinBrett on social media – took to TikTok to share his take on the new collection. He told his 31.3k followers that the collection “continues Zara’s and the rest of fast fashion’s ‘haute-washing’; using high-end people and aesthetics to appear more luxury than they are.”

Many businesses increased their investment in high-end products and aesthetic rebrands to monopolize the “quiet luxury” trend without actually investing in top-notch craftsmanship or materials.

Dr. Staniland says, “I don’t know who they’re designing this for.” Gen Z “don’t really care about this style, and I’d even suggest that Kate Moss isn’t that interesting to them.”

He also mentions that thrifting and re-wearing items from years past are at the heart of festival attire. I doubt that festivalgoers will be spending money on these kinds of clothes because it isn’t a glam fest for most people outside of the VIP ropes.

The collection is woefully lacking on the sustainability front, and it also falls short of festival-inspired standards. The collection’s “silk” and “lace” shorts, which are made of only 17% silk and have a 100% polyester lining, are praised by Dr. Staniland, who claims, “plastic weaves its way all the way through this collection.”

Without prior authorization, content cannot be displayed.

The collection is composed of “overpriced, plastic, fast-fashion items” says Dr Staniland, who calls it a “blatant cash-grab” for both Kate Moss and Zara who think they have “cheat-coded their way to easy sales”. The Mirror has reached out to Zara about Dr Staniland’s claims.

Dr Staniland’s advises those looking to get festival-inspired clothes to explore the second-hand market. Ahead of Glastonbury, The Mirror heard from veteran thrifters to understand how they curate their festival looks.

Evie McCarthy, a 24-year-old experienced thrift-shopper, reveals she enjoys wearing both vintage and handmade items. According to Evie, “My favorite pieces of clothing have come from Glastonbury Oxfam stores.”

Glastonbury Festival 2025 fans were over the moon as Fatboy Slim took to the stage to perform a secret set. The iconic DJ performed to just a few dozen people, with Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, bringing on his son Woody – who he shares with radio star Zoe Ball.

The 61-year-old DJ brought the energy to the small stage while his son Woody, 24, acted as the hype man and danced and bounced around. Fans were delighted by the set and took to the video shared on Instagram to compliment the father-son duo, with one person writing on Woody’s page: “Well done lads.”

“You don’t realize how much we cherish you, Norman. Yes, over 20 years ago, I was on the Brighton beach. Another devoted fan commented, “LEGEND.”

What an amazing thing for a father and son to do, one person said! and another questioned, “Why isn’t it on iplayer?” In an interview with OK!, the 24-year-old son of Fatboy Slim and Zoe Ball recently spoke about his family.

He discussed following in his parents’ footsteps last month when he revealed he was ready to give back to his “heroic” mother and father.

When asked about DJing, he responded, “It’s beautiful. They claim that you never work a day in your life because you adore what you do. I’ve always been a storyteller, and I never intended to work as a DJ, but I adored creating music. Turns out, using sound to tell stories is similar to DJing.

Woody also doesn’t mind people comparing him to his parents as he praised the “heroic people”. He said: “I can’t tell you who I’d be without my parents.

They gave me the best education of all time. My parents are braver than anything else. They have given me the most generous, loving, kind, and hard-working people on Earth.

“I think that’s what I owe it all to,” she said. They are amazing people, no matter who they are in their day-to-day lives.

The Glastonbury band’s “Death to IDF” chants were slammed on stage by Glastonbury executives who declared the punk rap duo had “crossed the line” on Sunday. Police have confirmed that they are looking into the video as a result.

Rod Stewart performed in the Legends slot on Sunday afternoon after Kate Nash, a fellow singer, made fun of the legend on Saturday night.

The rocker received rave reviews, but his set was hampered, including Lulu’s introduction before realizing she would soon be playing on stage.

He made some unexpected remarks about retiring in 2023, including the statement, “I’m not retiring. But I’d like to get moving. I’ve just released a swing album with Jools Holland, which will be released next year, and I’ve had great success with The Great American Songbook and all-American standards. Just for a while, maybe, I just want to leave the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind.

Loose Women star Sue Cleaver addresses ‘catfights’ and ‘massive fallout’ with Denise Welch

Sue Cleaver, a Coronation Street legend and Loose Women actress, addresses the “depressing” talk of co-star conflicts as well as her Corrie exit and search for new horizons.

After leaving Weatherfield for good, Sue Cleaver anticipates a summer filled with new adventures and scenic walks. The Hertfordshire-born actress’s final scenes as Coronation Street ‘ s Eileen Grimshaw aired on 6 June and, as she’s quick to tell Love Sunday during our exclusive chat, she is very much about “embracing change and living fearlessly”.

The Loose Women regular, who is now 61, is determined to learn something about herself after 25 years on Corrie. I’ve made significant decisions to change and reinvent myself. This is the time of life when society wants you to just go away quietly”, says Sue.

She continues, “But this is the period, for a lot of women who have put themselves second – because they’ve brought up families, had mortgages, etcetera – when we hit an age and think, ‘ What now? I’m who?

Everything I’ve done in the past year has been about discovery and reinvention. I’d like to say I’m one of life’s learners, and I never stop learning. I’m just starting to question all the assumptions I had about myself as I get really interested in myself.

Her next professional venture will be on stage as she steps up to the screen later this summer for Bolton Octagon’s co-production of Snake In The Grass. It’s especially exciting, she explains, because it’s a” full circle “moment.

My first equity card was issued at the Bolton Octagon Theatre. I must’ve been in eight or nine plays there. It’s quite lovely to be returning to that place at this point in my life.

Of course, we also see the star as an occasional panellist on Loose Women , which is set for some big changes – including losing the studio audience – come January, amid a raft of ITV cuts.

I adore that program. It is fantastic. I’ve known all the girls for years, so, yeah, “she says, when we ask if she’s hoping for more appearances now that her work calendar is less full. What about the rumors about women engaged in combat and at war?

They always prefer to refer to “catfights,” but they don’t mention women, don’t they? They wouldn’t dream of saying that when it’s blokes presenting something. We are actually very close in reality. However, Denise [Welch] and I frequently interact while we are together.

“We’ve known each other for 25 years – we’re close friends and have a sort of shorthand in the way we communicate. I’ve never had a relationship with Denise in my life, despite what the media will say is “massive fallout”! We still have a long way to go, which makes it very depressing.

Loose Women
Sue says she finds the talk of the Loose Women feuding depressing(Image: Ken McKay/ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Sue has been having a quiet health battle onscreen. She describes having Type 2 diabetes as “running a mental marathon every day” despite having it for 29 years.

In the last three years, she’s relieved some of the mental load by wearing a Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitor, which provides automatic glucose readings without the need for a finger prick.

“I can’t explain the mental exhaustion you experience; it’s like an app that keeps telling you, “What’s my sugar?” Is my medication working? What can I eat to avoid a spike? ‘

People are subject to “constant brain drain” as a result of diabetes management, which is lifelong and causes decision fatigue as a result of poor food choices and skipped medications. People get completely overwhelmed, and I can totally relate to that. It’s not about being lazy.

Sue says access to accurate readings taken every few minutes means she doesn’t have to constantly debate her eating habits and activity levels.

She also praises teen Fin Gough, a recent Race Across the World competitor, who traveled from northeastern China to southern India with girlfriend Sioned Cray after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 11.

Sioned took part in the race with her boyfriend Fin
Fin took part in Race Across the World with a CGM to manage his diabetes(Image: BBC/Studio Lambert)

” One of the biggest things for me was when I was about to do a live performance, go on a chat show or on stage, the inner stress and cortisol running through my body would have an impact on my sugars. So I’d be asking myself, “God, are my sugar levels sufficient to prevent this from having a hypo[hypoglycemic event]”?

“I would need to get out my blood test kit to make sure I was able to pass the first half without filling up.” That noise is dialled down now. I can concentrate on my core duties.

Another undesirable side effect of her diabetes, as well as being on television, has been the focus on her weight. Sue has become the subject of many “body transformation” headlines, especially in recent years, as she lost significant weight.

What is she’s making of all the talk? Because I dislike having people ask me for advice, I typically decline to participate in those discussions. The reality is I was very ill a few years ago, it’s had huge ramifications on my body and I’ve made huge changes in my life.

“I gave up drinking for two years, I try to go to the gym every day during the week, I’ve changed how I view the world. I always thought I hated the gym – then I realised that was just a thought. I don’t hate the gym, I just thought I did.”

Sue believes that fear poses the greatest threat to change, which is why she “very much” cares about living fearlessly.

One of her greatest demonstrations of this was agreeing to take part in the 22nd series of I’m A Celebrity in 2022, with Boy George, Matt Hancock, Mike Tindall and eventual winner, Jill Scott.

Sue on I'm A Celebrity
Sue finally said yes to joining the jungle(Image: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

She repeatedly responded, “she laughs,” after being repeatedly asked. I then wondered, “Why am I refusing to do that?” And my reason was fear. I was terrified. That was no good enough justification, I decided.

“And when I got there, I couldn’t believe I might’ve missed it because I was frightened of taking a chance. I had the best experience possible, and I’m thrilled I did it. We all behaved like grownups, there were great people in the group, and we all had a great time.

Now, one could argue that leaving Coronation Street after a quarter of a century was a huge decision – but it’s one she’s equally pleased about.

Sue was invited to participate in the discussions about Eileen’s departure, which essentially involved a question of life or death, which was unusually, if not surprising given her status as a Weatherfield legend.

What kind of exit would you prefer, they said? Dramatic? Would you like a final rest? And I retorted that I didn’t. I said I really wanted Eileen’s son, Jason, to come back, and for it to mirror what I’m doing in my own life. To allow Eileen to “go out there, live fearlessly, live bravely.”

Eileen Grimshaw leaves Corrie next week

She filmed her final scenes with her on-screen son Ryan Thomas at the end of May and after a post-work celebratory meal with cast and crew, bid her final farewell to the Manchester set the following day.

She claims that she didn’t have time to relax after taking an early train to London, and that her husband Brian Owen is still involved with the show’s behind-the-scenes work.

“I don’t think I’ve lost that,” he said, “because that show has always focused on the people, the sense of family and community. I had absolutely no doubt I was doing the right thing, and I’m not somebody who dwells on the past. I try to enjoy every moment and live in the moment like a dead bird.

Princess Andre ‘scaring’ dad Peter as he looks forward to her wedding

Peter Andre has admitted that Princess turning 18 this week has scared him, with the singer even anticipating his eldest daughter’s wedding.

(Image: WireImage)

Peter Andre says he’s ‘scared’ after his daughter, Princess, turned 18 on Sunday, admitting the thought of his little girl growing up isn’t an easy one.

Even looking ahead to her wedding, the doting dad of five says he’s excited to walk her down the aisle one day, despite Princess reportedly splitting from her boyfriend last month.

Taking to his weekly New! Magazine column, Peter said of his daughter’s milestone: “My beautiful daughter, Princess, has hit the 18 mark! It is so scary, but she’s a blessing. She’s very driven, she’s funny, she’s kind, she has a beautiful heart, and she’s completely bonkers – and that’s exactly why I love her.

She can make her own decisions and do what she wants, he continued, and I’m a little anxious about it all because, by the time this column comes out, I have no legal parental authority over her.

She’s been doing that for the past year, she said, and I’m proud of what she’s accomplished, to be honest. She’ll always be my baby girl, and I’m hoping to walk her down the aisle one day. So I’ll once more be a happy dad.

Alongside Princess, Peter shares eldest Junior with his ex-wife Katie Price. While he and wife Emily MacDonagh are parents to Theo, Amelia and Arabella – keeping all three children away from the spotlight.

Princess and Junior, however, are quite different because they already have large social media followings and booming showbusiness careers.

With a new reality show on the horizon and a number of brand collaborations under her belt, Princess is undoubtedly determined to succeed. While Junior already has a strong social media following, he has already pursued a career in music.

Princess, who bought herself an Audi as a birthday present, recently admitted that she knows it’s difficult for her father to watch her grow up. “I think it’s hard to see your child get older, but I think it’s hard.

I suddenly listened to him sobbing while we were playing music. I was like, “Are you okay? ” And he acknowledged that watching me grow up was odd.

Peter won’t have to worry about Princess getting too much mischief, she said, despite the fact that she may be 18 years old. Although I don’t usually enjoy drinking or going out with my friends, Princess said it’ll be nice to be able to go to bars and other places.

“But I’m not the type of person who would make fun of myself,” he continued. I’ll never place myself in a bad light.

Bob Vylan singer explains where his passion for music comes from in stark interview

Following the punk duo’s controversial performance at the Glastonbury Festival, a video of which police are looking into has resurfaced.

Bobby Vylan – singer of controvesial punk duo Bob Vylan – said his passion for music came from “growing up in a boring place”.

The 34-year-old musician, whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, sparked chants of “death to the IDF” while on stage at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday afternoon. Bob Vylan’s performance was streamed live on the BBC, which has since said the comments were “deeply offensive”.

Avon and Somerset Police are now examining video evidence and investigating if any offence had been committed. However, Bobby Vylan has since said on Instagram: “I said what I said.” The defiant singer, who grew up in Ipswich, Suffolk, is no stranger to controversy as, performing a rendition of Wicked and Bad at Glastonbury in 2022, he sang “Let’s go dig up Maggie’s grave and ask her where that milk went”.

He stopped playing in 2021 after taking offence to a cube of ice being thrown onto the University of East Anglia student union stage midway through his performance. The punk and grime singer mistakenly believed Sarah Corbett was the one to “start abusing” her through the microphone.

Robinson-Foster stated in an early interview that he never liked football because, even before these controversyes, “people either dabbled in illegal activity or rapped” as a child. In the interview, he was discussing where his passion for music came from, which, among other things, has since been discovered online after the IDF rant.

Bobby Dylan was performing as a grime artist by the name of Nee-Hi, who was dubbed “The Fresh Prince of Ipswich” by the music press as “The Fresh Prince of Ipswich” for his energetic performances and old-school style. By the time he was 20 years old, that was a catalyst for his growth.

The punk-rap duo has released five albums, despite only forming Bob Vylan with drummer Bobbie Dylan in 2017. However, they were initially labeled as being “too extreme” to be signed by any record label, so the pals created their own Ghost Theatre from which to launch their professional career. Soon afterward, they made their first appearance on stage, supporting Biffy Clyro and the Offspring. They also performed at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2021.
