‘Gutted’ Jamie Borthwick seen for first time since EastEnders axe on chaotic night out

Jamie Borthwick, who was sacked from the BBC One soap, has been seen for the first time since because his car collided with Georgina Shave’s girlfriend in London on a night out.

Former EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick has been spotted for the first time since his departure from the BBC soap but his night out took a turn for the worse when his Mercedes broke down.

Before his car broke down and had to be towed away, the 31-year-old, who played Jay Brown for nearly 20 years, was seen dining with Georgina Shave’s girlfriend in Mayfair, London.

Despite the mishap, Georgina, who has stood by him through recent controversies, lifted his spirits with a kiss on the street. A witness told The Sun: “Jamie was gutted. Georgina cheered him up with a smooch.”

The actor appeared to catch a ride home in the tow truck while Georgina was left to take the bus after leaving a handwritten note apologizing to parking wardens on his windscreen.

It marks Borthwick’s first public appearance since being dropped from EastEnders, ending his 19-year run as Jay Brown – a household character who was first introduced as a troubled teen.

Jay’s involvement in some of the show’s most heartfelt plotlines, including Lola Pearce’s passing, was at the center of some of the show’s most moving moments.

His exit from the series was quietly confirmed last month. The Mirror revealed that Borthwick had been axed from the soap after being suspended in June for using an offensive term to describe Blackpool residents while filming Strictly Come Dancing in the seaside town.

The actor’s language was “entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect,” according to the BBC at the time.

Borthwick later apologized informally for any offence or upset caused by his actions. There is no justification for my ignorance of the offensive term I used and its definition.

That completely irritates me. I am now aware that I directed the phrase in the manner that I did, and that I am deeply embarrassed to have used it. It was incorrect.

After the suspension, he was reportedly scheduled to return to film, but producers ultimately decided to cut the beloved character from the BBC One soap after almost twenty years.

A BBC Studios spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Jamie Borthwick will not be returning to EastEnders. We do not comment on individual matters.”

Fans only learned of his departure in an ironic incident in a September episode, when Lauren Branning told Peter Beale, “Hi Jay, his grandad’s got sick, so he’s had to go see him.”

Madonna baffles fans as she’s spotted eating popcorn watching Chelsea v Liverpool

Pop icon Madonna was in the crowd scoffing popcorn as she watched Chelsea dispatch of Premier League champions Liverpool thanks to a last-gasp winner

Madonna had fans questioning her loyalty as she was spotted in the stands at a huge Premier League fixture this weekend. The pop icon took her seat inside Stamford Bridge as Chelsea scored an injury-time winner to defeat current champions Liverpool.

The Vogue singer, 67, was snapped scoffing popcorn in West London, shocking viewers. Many took to social media to share their disbelief, with one X, formerly known as Twitter user asking: “Was that Madonna watching Chelsea v Liverpool? Yeahhhhh…most random thing I’ve seen in a minute.”

“Omg is Madonna a Chelsea fan?!?!,” asked another. And a third said: “@Madonna WHAT’RE YOU DOING IN A CHELSEA MATCH GIRL.”

But while some were stunned at the Material Girl tucking into the delight, others pointed out she is a regular at the ground. Last October, while still dating her toyboy partner Akeem Morris, she was seen celebrating the Blues’ win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

The pair appeared loved up at the time as they posed for images which the Queen of Pop later shared on her Instagram page. In the snaps, the singer and her 28-year-old beau snuggled up to each other as they took in the sporting event at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.

And in April, she took her seat for the Conference League clash with Legia Warsaw. She again watched on with Akeem at the time.

But her links with the team began long before their pairing. The pop star was first thought to have followed the side when she was with Guy Ritchie. The singer was married to the Chelsea fanatic film director between 2000 and 2008.

As well as her previous romantic links, Madonna’s link to the club in the present day could be due to another longstanding connection. Following Chelsea’s takeover in 2022, one of her longtime pals became a board member.

Barbara Charone, a co-founder of MBC PR, has known the icon for over four decades. It’s also thought that Charone helped the star achieve such significant fame over the years.

Madonna is far from the only famous face to have been seen watching Chelsea recently. Steve McQueen, Matt Damon, and Timothee Chalamet are among the club’s fans, and WWE superstar John Cena has also been spotted in the stands taking in a game.

Away from watching the Blues, Madonna has recently revealed she is releasing a new album next year. The legend has re-signed with Warner Records almost two decades after leaving.

She is teaming up once again with longtime collaborator DJ Stuart Price for the new work. Sharing the news with fans, Madonna uploaded a series of photos to her Instagram page earlier this month. The snaps saw her posing in gold heels, fishnet tights, and a very risqué silver sheer dress.

“It Feels like home with Warner Records” she captioned the post. “Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor Back to where it all began.”

Robbie Williams issues apology as he’s forced to cancel huge show amid terror worries

Due to fears of terrorism, Robbie Williams has been forced to reschedule a concert. The music legend had planned to perform in Istanbul the following week, but he has since informed fans that the show has been postponed due to concerns about safety. Due to the fact that his wife, Ayda Field-Williams, is of half-Turkish descent, Robbie has close ties to Turkey.

The company behind the performance made the decision to pull the public due to security concerns and public opposition, but the 51-year-old was scheduled to perform at Istanbul’s Atakoy Marina.

Two years after the Hamas attacks on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of 1,200 innocent people and the hostage-taking of 251 people in Gaza, his concert was scheduled for October 7.

Robbie expressed regret over missing the performance in Istanbul the following week in a statement. In order to protect the public safety, city officials have canceled the show. My fans’ safety and security are important to me, and that is the last thing I would ever want to do.

On social media (WireImage), Robbie apologized to fans.

We purposefully chose Istanbul as our final stop on the BRITPOP tour because we were very excited to be playing there for the first time. Given my family’s enduring connections to this wonderful nation, it was my dream to end this epic run of dates in front of my Turkish fans.

I apologize sincerely to everyone in Istanbul who wanted to take part in the 1.2 million people who have traveled with us this year. Although we had no control over our actions, we were eager to see this show.

Brits should avoid visiting Turkey right now, with a warning on their dedicated travel advice page stating that travel insurance may be invalid if they violate the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) guidelines.

Robbie has close links with Turkey, as his wife Ayda is of Turkish descent
Due to the fact that Robbie’s wife, Ayda, is Turkish (Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images), there are close ties to Turkey.

After the horrifying events of October 7 when Robbie declared his support for Israel, fears quickly grew. He had previously stated that his four children were raised as Jews because their mother, his wife, Ayda, adheres to this faith. He claimed that the family adhered to Jewish customs “out of respect.”

Robbie stated on stage at a concert in Tel Aviv in 2023, “I’m raising my kids Jewish and I’m appreciative of the Jewish people.” My children are Jewish because my wife is Jewish.

Out of respect for you guys and their history, I like to carry on some of the family traditions. Simcha, which means “happy,” is also known as “tattooed on his wrist.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden admits ‘life’s too short’ after cancer battle

Since beating cancer, Amy Dowden has learned to “take risks.” The Strictly Come Dancing singer was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2023, but the diagnosis was given just eighteen months later.

The 35-year-old professional dancer is teamed up with Apprentice star Thomas Skinner, who is a repeat cast member this year. She told host Claudia Winkleman that “life is too short” to try new things after the pair finished a Salsa routine set to Dizzee Rascal’s Bonkers.

Life is too short for me to take chances, she said, “If I’ve learned anything in the last two years, I’ve been.”

Strictly Come Dancing
She told host Tess Daly that “life is too short” to try new things (BBC) after the pair finished a Salsa routine set to Dizzee Rascal’s Bonkers.

The pair only received 13 votes from judges Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke, and they didn’t get the best feedback on their routine. However, Amy joked later that Amy was a little frightened during rehearsals because of her partner’s focus on the stage.

She said, “It was okay until we had to do lifts, and I was high up there and he had his eyes closed,” before adding that she does “trust” him. She said, “I’m so proud of you,” and turned to him.

After doctors discovered the tumour, the Welsh dancer revealed that she had been told to have it lumped. Only the cancerous lumps and some surrounding tissue are removed during this surgical procedure.

When a tumor only affects one breast area, Cancer Research UK explains that is frequently the course of action. However, an MRI scan revealed that Amy, 35, had more tumors than initially believed.

She explained that everything happened so quickly for me: “Initially, I was having a lumpectomy, then, after my MRI, there were more tumors, so I needed a mastectomy, and all of a sudden, you’re trying to make these decisions so quickly and you’re not really thinking rationally because you’re so emotionally sensitive within the time.

Strictly Come Dancing
After dancing to Bonkers (BBC), Amy said she was “so proud” of her Strictly partner Thomas Skinner.

I do believe that having all of your options and understanding everything is very important. I was also unsure of what would come into my wake, which is both terrifying and unsettling.

“I didn’t know whether it would wake up with it open or closed, or whether or not I would need an implant or an expander.” You don’t know what you will wake up with or what it will look like, which is the truth, even before surgery, and I wanted to be honest.

Following chemotherapy, Amy was forced to miss the 2023 season of Strictly due to her cancer diagnosis. Amy revealed in February of last year that doctors told her that they had found “no evidence of the disease” in her body, thereby enabling her Strictly recovery.

She and JLS singer JB Gill made a year-ago appearance on the program. She resigned from the competition on November 4 because she was taken to the hospital in October. A Strictly spokesperson said at the time, “Sadly, Amy Dowden MBE will not participate in the rest of the competition this year.” Lauren Oakley, a fellow professional dancer, will serve as JB’s dance partner while Amy focuses on her recovery from a foot injury.

Everyone involved in Strictly has a right to their own well-being, which is always top of mind. Amy is euphoric and well-wished by the entire Strictly family.

Have I Got News For You axed from BBC iPlayer as Victoria Coren Mitchell apologises

Victoria Coren Mitchell, the host of Have I Got News For You, has apologized for the unanticipated removal of the most recent panel show from BBC iPlayer.

Television presenter Victoria Coren Mitchell has spoken out following the removal of the latest Have I Got News For You episode from BBC iPlayer after she made a blunder concerning Labour’s digital ID card proposals.

Panelists Sheila Hancock, Miles Jupp, Ian Hislop, and Paul Merton were in charge of the satirical program on Friday night (October 3).

Before addressing the teams, Victoria asked them in one section who would benefit from Sir Keir Starmer’s decision to launch the ID system: “I was considering choosing the company Multiverse to manage the digital ID cards scheme.

She continued, mentioning that Tony Blair’s son Euan was the founding partner, and that this was a “happy coincidence”?

FullFact, a fact-checking organization, refutes claims that Multiverse will run the government initiative, which is an “upskilling company” rather than a software developer.

The organization continued, “The government hasn’t announced any partners for the project. Although there has been some media speculating about whether the scheme may open up opportunities for other tech firms, it is understood that the government expects digital ID to be created, constructed, and managed by an internal team rather than external suppliers.

Today (October 4), Victoria has tackled the mortifying mistake with a brief statement online. Posting on X – formerly known as Twitter – she wrote: “Meanwhile, if you see a clip of me saying the ID card contract has gone to Tony Blair’s son: it hasn’t.

That was something I was asked last night, but it turns out to be incorrect. Which is good for social mobility but bad for fact-checkers.

Despite Tony Blair’s earlier public support for the idea, FullFact confirms that there is “no evidence” of Blair’s son or the company being linked to the scheme.

One social media user wrote, “Part of the script, not just a throwaway quip,” leaving viewers furious. This is receiving a lot of negative feedback from some. (It’s possible that the iPlayer edit will also be removed.)

Another said, “Oh my god. Has I Got News For You only made a fact out of this utterly false claim? Absolutely amazed that Multiverse will manage the government’s digital ID system. “whilst someone else raged:.” An utterly fundamental error in fact-checking.

After that, a BBC spokesperson told Express. a fictitious article appeared in this week’s Have I Got News For You about Euan Blair’s business, Multiverse, being chosen to develop the government’s contract to produce digital ID cards.

Because “Multipverse is not a software developer and there is no evidence of any involvement in the proposed digital ID scheme,” we have deleted the episode from BBC iPlayer while removing the relevant section. This unintentional editorial error is our regret.

In addition, a representative from the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology clarified: “Claims that Multiverse has been chosen to develop the Government’s digital ID app are false. No decisions have been made on its delivery, but we expect it to be designed, built, and run by in-house Government teams – not outsourced to external suppliers.

We will launch a public consultation to ensure we get the best possible input on the scheme’s design and delivery, as we previously stated last week.

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking The Life Of A Showgirl thwarted by one album

The popularity of Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album is demonstrated by the statistics, which show how well received it has been. Swifties all over the world couldn’t get enough of the 35-year-old singer’s release, The Life Of A Showgirl, on Friday, October 3.

Some fans praised the 12-track offering as her best so far, while others quickly questioned the songs’ meaning. Statistics have now demonstrated how popular the album has already become.

However, despite having so many record-breaking moments, the new album didn’t manage to top the streaming list in its opening day. Taylor retains the title in comparison to her previous album, The Tortured Poets Department.

On October 3, The Life of a Showgirl debuted.
On October 3, The Life of a Showgirl debuted.

The biggest streaming day for any artist on Spotify in 2025 was reportedly Taylor’s most recent release, according to Chart Data. On the day of its debut, the star’s album was streamed 309 million times across the artist’s entire catalogue.

The only album that received more than 380 million streams on its first day, according to the website, was her 2024 release, which was streamed 380 million times. It became the second biggest day of any stream album ever.

The Fate of Ophelia is the most-streamed debut song in the history of the global Spotify chart, according to the website. Additionally, Honey was the least-streamed track on The Life of a Showgirl’s opening day.

But Swifties, don’t worry. This doesn’t mean it wasn’t received favorably. In fact, the website claims to still stream any non-Taylor Swift debut songs to Spotify. Seven by JungKook, reportedly, has been streamed only 87 more times, making TayTay’s song.

Actually Romantic is one song that she has chosen to highlight more than others in her newest release. Taylor sings, “I heard you called me “boring Barbie” when the coke made you brave,” in the song.

She later added, “High-fived my ex, then said you’re glad he ghosted me,” “Wrote a song saying it makes you sick to see my face, “Some people might be offended, but it’s actually sweet,” and then continued, “I’m glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad you’re glad

Fans quickly speculated as to whether Charli XCX was heading in the wrong direction. Some people wondered if it was a response to Charli’s song Sympathy Is A Knife from her Brat album.

Taylor argued that this isn’t the case in an audio track-by-track breakdown of the new album for Amazon Music. She instead stated that her new song is “a song about coming to terms with someone who has sort of had a one-sided, antagonistic relationship with you that you didn’t know about.”

She continued, “And suddenly they start acting excessively and letting you know that you’ve been living rent-free in their head.” You take it for granted that someone has made you such a big part of their reality when you didn’t even consider it, even though they may be resenting you or having a problem with you.

Taylor also released a new movie along with her album. The world premiere of the music video The Fate of Ophelia, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the music video shoot, were included during the special screenings, which were only shown for one week.
