Real reason Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay’s marriage sparked family meltdown

Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have banned his family from attending their festive wedding with the true reason for him snubbing his parents and brother hard to decipher

Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty has suffered a very public falling out with his family ahead of his marriage to Holly Ramsay. The duo have faced controversy after it was revealed that almost all of Adam’s family had been banned from the upcoming nuptials.

The fallout seemed to begin when Holly was criticised on social media by Adam’s aunt, Louise Williams, for not inviting his mum to her hen party, which in turn sparked everyone except his sister being removed from the guest list. Adam was then escorted through Manchester Airport by five police officers when he returned from his stag do, which was held in Budapest.

The reason for that show of strength was a tip-off from Holly that there was an alleged threat to Adam from his brother, James. The two brothers have had a difficult relationship over the year, falling out initially when Adam shared details of James’ addiction problems in his 2021 autobiography.

The pair then reportedly fell out again earlier this year James was doing some building work for Adam, with them not speaking since. James was not invited to Adam’s stag, and was arrested at home before being released on bail. However, he was not charged, and the alleged threat never materialised.

Now, Adam’s mum has opened up on the rift with her son in a tearful interview, where she explained her side of the saga further. She claims that when the hen do took place, she was at home with Adam’s son, George, from his previous relationship.

She claimed that after she dropped him back at his mother’s house in Birmingham, she was left distraught. She told the Daily Mail: “I was crying all the way home.

“I got home and told [husband] Mark that for the first time in my life, I felt I didn’t want to live. That’s how low this has made me. I’m a strong woman, and I can get through anything, but this has broken me.” But it’s claimed that Holly and her family, including mum Tana and friends, including Victoria Beckham, are very different to Caroline.

Sources claim that working-class Caroline, who ferried Adam around to swimming competitions as a youngster, doesn’t fit the glossy lifestyle that Adam is marrying into. Unconfirmed sources claim that the Ramsays don’t want their social media feeds or wedding snaps “spoiled”.

Writing for the Daily Mail, Sarah Vine said: “There may be an element of truth in that. But there is something else going on, something less about money, status and snobbery and more about that age-old resentment that takes hold in families when one member manages to step out of the mould – and the others feel left behind.”

She then blamed Holly’s dad, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay ,for the family feud. She said: “He’s in Gordon’s clutches. I can’t help but feel like they are pulling him away from me. Their family is very insular.”

However, despite the narrative that the well-to-do Ramsays and their celebrity friends are alienating the Peatys, there has also been speculation that Adam’s newfound elevated levels of fame, thanks to the union, are causing jealousy.

Another element to the story is Gordon’s well-documented struggle with his own brother, Ronald, who struggled with drug addiction, and was tried for heroin possession in Indonesia in 2007. Gordon has previously spoken about the strain put on his family by his brother’s issues.

Adam has previously stated how Gordon “inspires me to be successful” which could mean he is taking heed of his future father-in-law’s own life experiences in isolating himself from a potentially messy situation.

Michael Mosley’s wife says ‘awkward’ phrase is hard to say in heartbreaking update

Dr Clare Bailey Mosley is still grieving her husband, TV doctor Michael Mosley, who died in June 2024

The wife of beloved TV doctor Michael Mosley admits she still feels “awkward” when describing herself as a widow nearly 18 months after his tragic passing.

Michael and Dr Clare Bailey Mosley were enjoying a break on the Greek island of Symi in June 2024 when the 67-year-old physician and television presenter chose to embark on a two-mile trek to a neighbouring town.

His remains were discovered four days later on a rocky stretch of terrain near a private resort called Agia Marina.

A post-mortem examination failed to establish any clear reason for his demise, which appeared to have occurred during the late afternoon hours of his disappearance.

An inquest concluded that the cause of his death was “unascertainable” and that his passing was “most likely attributable either to heat stroke or non-identified pathological cause.”

Clare is still contemplating counselling to assist her in managing her unexpected bereavement: “I feel I need to have time to do it,” she revealed to the Telegraph.

“It’s next on my list. I’m not going just because everyone tells me I should.”

She revealed that she has created an informal grief support network of her own: “I do have friends I see. There are two other [widowed] women nearby so we often meet up.”

Clare continued: “We call ourselves ‘the three merry widows’. Although I don’t use the word ‘widow’ unless I have to. I feel a bit awkward about the word itself. It just reminds me of what I’ve lost.”

Clare and Michael’s son Jack – who is also a doctor – have resolved to carry on his work.

They have written three books on healthy eating – Food Noise, Eating Together, and The Fast 800 Favourites.

“Michael would have been so proud of Jack,” Clare told Good Housekeeping Live.

“And I’m incredibly proud of how the family came together after we lost him, because it was a really traumatic experience. But we all pulled together.”

She remembered how even Michael, who was a respected authority on healthy eating, wasn’t immune to the temptations of a treat now and then: “He used to ask me to hide chocolate quite regularly,” she recalled.

“I still find chocolate in the broom cupboard!'”

Jack added that – chocolate addiction aside – his dad practised what he preached: “Dad had put on a few kilos every year as he approached his early 50s, and by 2012 he had become type two diabetic,” he said.

Timothee Chalamet looks unrecognisable with new hair after ‘dumping’ Kylie Jenner

If Timothée Chalamet has split from girlfriend of two years Kylie Jenner it didn’t show as he was spotted on a night out in Hollywood on Friday

Timothée Chalamet has shown off a bold new look as he was spotted on a guy’s night out after reportedly ‘dumping’ Kylie Jenner.

The 29-year-old actor ditched his trademark curls as he rocked a newly shaved head – for his role in the upcoming film Marty Supreme – in the snaps. He appeared carefree as he had drinks with friends on Friday night and was photographed at a low-key Hollywood bar with pals, leaving the establishment at around 1am.

Rumours of a split with girlfriend of two years Kylie, 28, began swirling when the Dune and Wonka star was notably absent from her mum Kris Jenner’s star-studded 70th birthday bash last week.

It comes as makeup mogul Kylie took to Instagram to post a series of sultry pics in what was perhaps a bid to make Timothée realise what he is missing. One snap even showed her with a Timothée Chalamet lookalike. In the photo, Kylie is seen holding up her middle finger to the camera as she sits in a restaurant in a bra and skirt.

The mystery man is sitting next to her, giving a cheeky smile as he holds his tattooed hand up to his chin.

It’s reported that the pair have split before. But last time mum-of-two Kylie, who shares daughter Stormi, seven, and son Aire, three, with rapper ex Travis Scott, is said to have talked him into giving the relationship another go.

A source told the Daily Mail: “This has happened before – but she talked him into getting back together. She is crazy about him, so that could well happen again.”

Another source claimed: “There is trouble in paradise, but they aren’t completely over. He is filming quite a bit, and she feels that she has to chase him. She is putting in the work more than him.”

It comes after Timothée appeared to take a swipe at Kylie during a Vogue cover shoot where he said he didn’t talk about his relationship as there wasn’t ‘anything to say’.

He told the publication he didn’t want to discuss his love life and said: “I don’t say that with any fear, I just don’t have anything to say.”

Even though Kylie says privacy is of the utmost importance to her, Timothée’s reluctance to publicly speak about their romance is reportedly a bone of contention between the pair, who first began dating in 2023.

And Kylie is said to have been ‘blindsided’ by her boyfriend’s decision to shut down talk of their relationship.

A friend close to the Kardashians’ star told Radar Online: “Kylie was really upset by how casually Timothée dismissed the question. She honestly believed they were past the point of hiding things and that he’d want to celebrate their relationship, not act like it doesn’t exist.

“She’s raging, shocked and heartbroken at the same time, but, as usual, is trying to put a brave face on things by keeping posting ‘happy’ social media snaps.”

The strain of Timothée working away filming all the time as his career rises was also taking a toll – with Kylie reportedly feeling like she’s the one making the effort all the time.

One source said: “They’ve been on completely different schedules for months, and it’s really strained things. Kylie’s been the one reaching out, calling, visiting – but she’s beginning to feel like she’s putting in all the effort.

Another added to the publication: “Kylie’s always been the one showing up for himShe’s traveled everywhere to support Timothée, but he rarely returns the favour. It’s starting to really bother her.”

‘I was a Strictly Come Dancing professional – these two royals could make show history’

Anton du Beke’s dance partner Erin Boag has suggested two celebrity royal contestants that could completely transform Strictly Come Dancing’s already massive appeal

Reality show Strictly Come Dancing has snagged a range of memorable contestants in its 21 years on British TV screens.

But there’s one guest – or pair of guests – who could really make Strictly history, according to former professional Erin Boag, who appeared on the first 10 series of the show alongside her regular dance partner Anton du Beke.

“It would be great to see a royal do Strictly,” Erin says, adding that she has one particular royal couple in mind.

“I feel like we need to get some big names in there. Some really big names – that would be great.

“Mike Tindall versus Zara Tindall,” Erin suggests. “They wouldn’t be the first couple to take part, we had Gabby and Kenny Logan!”

Former England international Mike might struggle on the dance flour, though, Erin concedes: “Mike’s quite big though. I’ve danced with rugby players. One big, one nimble. It depends on their size.

“I first danced with Martin Offiah, I mean …Jesus, he was known for his speed. But he was also known for his bulk.

She told Genting Casino’s 20k Spins competition: “Then you get somebody like Austin Healey… and Matt Dawson did it well. They both played winger and because they’re known for their nimbleness and they’re small, they were both phenomenal.”

Erin was often paired with sporting personalities on the show – earning her best-ever score, a 39, with sprinter Colin Jackson and a lowly 21 when paired with former England goalie Peter Shilton.

She was also paired with former footballer Peter Schmeichel and the late snooker player Willie Thorne. Her best performance saw her finish second with Jackson.

Palace advisors might not be keen on risking Princess Anne’s well-loved daughter and son-in law being exposed to the kind of mockery that followed 1987’s Grand Knockout Tournament – remembered as the PR disaster It’s a Royal Knockout.

In that televised event, conceived and organised by Prince Edward, Zara’s mother Anne, Princess Royal and the then-Duke and Duchess of York led teams of celebrities in a range of daft physical challenges inspired by the popular international game show It’s A Knockout.

It was not popular with senior royals, but Edward pressed ahead. His father Prince Philip said the show was “unwise and unwelcome”.

He told one BBC executive: “Why doesn’t Edward let the TV people get on with it and just turn up to accept the cheques? He’s making us look foolish.”

James Whitaker, who was often described as “the royal correspondent’s royal correspondent,” said that the programme – which commanded a TV audience of over r400 million – was a “total watershed” in the public’s perception of the Royal Family. “If you really had to pin down where it all went wrong, I would always point to It’s a Royal Knockout,” he said.
