Fans of the Libertines rejoice – the band is ready to make new music. The news comes just weeks after the heartbreak of Babyshambles star Patrick Walden’s death.

The tragic news saw Libertines frontman and former Babyshambles bandmate Pete Doherty pay tribute. Pete had previously created Babyshambles when he was driven out of The Libertines due to his drug habit.

But now, after returning to the Libertines, Pete and fellow band mate, Carl Barat, have teased they ready to share new tunes with the world. Despite releasing new music as a solo act earlier this year, Doherty admitted there could be original Libertines songs thrown out there too after a successful Glastonbury.

When Speaking to NME, Pete was asked about any future tunes, and he admitted: “We did have quite a strong idea”.

When he was then probed on any plans to release new music soon, in his unique way, he joked: “I just released an album [‘Felt Better Alive‘] a month and a half ago, man! What do you want? Blood? ”

He went on: “Anyway, I have to say all in all, it’s a game of two halves. At the end of the day, you’re either chuffed as a lad or sick as a parrot. “

And he added his delight at one moment in Glastonbury. “Did you see that fan with The Simpsons flag? ,” he said.

“It had Carl and me really fat with a ‘tasch playing the guitar. The f***? Happy days, man. ” He then joked that he would always be ready for an appearance in the iconic cartoon.

During their sat on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, the band tried to start a ‘Free Palestine’ chant during their performance. However, they failed as the microphone wasn’t on.

The band was met with a huge crowd on the day as they performed a number of their biggest hits, including Can’t Stand Me Now and Don’t Look Back into the Sun. But as they waved goodbye to the vast crowd, Gary Powell decided to stay on and hold up a Palestine flag that was on stage during their performance.

And as he attempted to get a chant going, his efforts were foiled as the microphone was off, which meant Gary’s chant wasn’t heard by fans. A source told the Mirror at the time: “The camera was zoomed in on his mouth so everyone could clearly see he was mouthing the phrase ‘free free Palestine’ but the mic was muted.

“Those at the front tried to get the chant going on his behalf, but it fizzled out, and he gave up and left the stage. Fans leaving debated if it was intentional as he picked up and waved the flag before heading to the mic. “

According to data, stateside songstress Taylor Swift is bigger than Oasis, with her Eras Tour being more popular than the band’s UK comeback

Don’t look back in anger, Gallagher brothers. Taylor Swift is officially bigger than Oasis mania. The nod for the Swifties is real and comes as the Mancunian band prepares for its epic comeback. Oasis’ reunion tour begins on Friday, with 17 sold-out nights across the UK, ready to transport Britpop fans back to the nineties.

However, while excitement may be building ahead of the opening night in Cardiff, data has found that the American songstress still has the bigger pulling power. According to stats, TayTay’s 2024 Eras Tour proved to be more popular than the upcoming Oasis gigs.

Fans’ total searches for Taylor Swift were one and a half times the number of views compared to Oasis. The findings were compiled by comparing ticket sales from the week of each respective act’s general on-sale date.

Despite the findings, it’s clear Britpop is back. The company said: “Over the past few years, Britpop and guitar music fans have been treated to a long-overdue revival with era-defining bands like Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Suede, The Charlatans and Travis returning to the spotlight. Whether it’s new music, reunion tours or festival headline sets, these icons have reignited the sound of the ’90s. “

The user said they had heard the rehearsal setlist. Giving fans a clue as to what may appear at the live shows, they claimed the setlist kicks off with an intro of F****n’ in the Bushes, then Hello, Acquiesce, Morning Glory, followed by Some Might Say.

As they carried on to spill the apparent set list, fans were loving the thought the rumoured lineup. However, one tune has apparently not made the cut and left fans disappointed. One user said: “Crazy there’s no Columbia but little by little got my stoked. “

Another added: “No Columbia? ” while a third commented: “I need to convince one of them of Columbia’s importance. “

Ozzy Osbourne super-fans will have to fork out more than £1,400 for the metal icon to sign a microphone or guitar at an upcoming event, and nearly £1,000 for a photograph with him.

The Black Sabbath frontman, 76, will perform for the final time on Saturday alongside his bandmates – Tony Iommi, 77, Geezer Butler, 75, and Bill Ward, 77 – at Villa Park, Aston, in a farewell heavy metal show called Back to the Beginning.

But a week later he will head 12 miles down road to Comic Con Midlands, at Birmingham’s NEC, where the Prince of Darkness and his family – wife and former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, 72, their daughter Kelly Osbourne, 40, and son Jack Osbourne, 39 – will meet and have photographs taken with die-hard fans on Saturday, July 12.

Supporters will have to spend £666 – often referred to as the number of the beast in heavy metal circles – for the top-tier Ultimate Sin VIP Package at Comic Con Midlands. For that, fans will receive a group professional photo opportunity with Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack – whose fame increased in 2002 thanks to their The Osbournes reality TV show – but it is limited to two people per photo. However, under-5s are not included in the restriction.

In contrast, Sex Pistols legend John Lydon – AKA Johnny Rotten – is charging a far more modest £90 for a pre-show meet and greet – including a photograph, autograph, and goody bag – on various dates of his I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right spoken word tour later this year.

At Comic Con Midlands, a photograph with American thrash metallers Scott Ian and Frank Bello from Anthrax – who will also be playing at Black Sabbath’s farewell show on Saturday – is priced at £110, and Slipknot fans will only have to pay £60 for a picture with the metal band’s turntablist Sid Wilson.

What’s more, a photograph with Ozzy’s wife Sharon is priced at £80, and snaps with Kelly or Jack are £60. Former Celebrity Big Brother star Sharon will also sign an autograph for £60, while Kelly and Jack’s signatures are £40 apiece.

On Saturday, original Sabbath members Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill will be reunited at Back to the Beginning for the first time in 20 years.

Ozzy said: “It’s my final encore; it’s my chance to say thank you to my fans for always supporting me and being there for me. ” Ozzy now has Parkinson’s disease and has struggled for ill health for a number of years and so is unable to play a full live show.

Noel Gallagher’s pal says it would be ‘no surprise’ if Oasis have new music ahead of tour

EXCLUSIVE: Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley is friends with Noel Gallagher and hopes Oasis will bring out new music in 2026 following the staggering success of the reunion tour

The countdown is now on for the first show of the Oasis world tour but once the gigs begin the next question for many fans will centre around if the band will bring out new material.

Rumours have persisted for months since the Noel and Liam reunion was announced about possible tracks or demos or recording sessions, but so far nothing is confirmed to be happening. Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley, a close friend of Noel, certainly thinks it is likely though.

Jo said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve written something, if Noel has written something new, because I think he’d want to prove himself. He’s very ambitious. He really wants to be respected. I’d love them to do new material that was really good. You know, we’ve had Pulp just coming out and doing an amazing album.

“Blur have done an amazing album. You’ve got Suede, all their peers are coming up with stuff. They’re still creative. They’re not ancient men, you know, they’re artists who want to strive to be great, and they’ve both(Noel and Liam) done that with their individual careers as well. They’re really committed. Noel has been so committed to making new music all the time. So I don’t know how they could not try and do something new. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, and I’ll hope that it’s brilliant. ”

6 Music DJ Steve Lamacq, who used to champion Oasis in the Nineties on Radio 1 alongside Jo said : “ I’d quite like to hear a grown up version of Oasis in some respects, but I’m not sure that’s what Oasis would do best. Because I think what everyone wants is Oasis still being the pure, exciting rock and roll band that made those early albums. I’d be interested. Would it be any good? You’d hope so.”

Other sources the Mirror spoke to have predicted a new track could be added to a new greatest hits album if one came out in 2026. One insider said: “Now the band are back they may want to bring out a new greatest hits which reflects what Noel and Liam consider the best songs, spanning every era and even B-sides.”

Since warring brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher called a truce to their 15-year feud and announced a huge stadium world tour, their songs and albums have re-entered the top end of the charts including their albums Definitely Maybe and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and singles collection Time Flies 1994-2009.

Plans were previously underway for a new greatest hits compilation which would be curated by Liam and Noel rather than contain all of the band’s singles. But it was cancelled at the last minute some time ago.

Speaking before the reunion was announced, Noel, 57, previously said on the possible greatest hits album: “Liam put the mockers on it so I don’t think it will be coming out.

“He wouldn’t agree to anything at the last minute. Right at the last minute as well, it was due to come out. Anyway, there you go, it’s not the end of the world. It is a shame.

“He wouldn’t have it in the end, I don’t know why. I gave up f***ing arguing with it, I just said, ‘You know what, I’ve got other f***ing things to do now. Bye bye. ’

One album that is definitely coming out is deluxe new formats of iconic album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? – with unplugged versions of five iconic tracks.

The move is to celebrate the era-defining album’s landmark 30-year anniversary, one of the reasons it is thought the Gallaghers have also decided to tour this year

The new version of their second LP will feature new unplugged versions of five classic recordings Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory, Wonderwall, Acquiesce and Champagne Supernova.

Released on October 3 on Big Brother Recordings, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) is available for pre-order on limited edition 2CD and 3LP formats as well as digital formats. This special anniversary format follows last summer’s release of the 30th Anniversary Edition of Definitely Maybe which reached number 1 in the Official UK Album Chart for the second time in that album’s history.

Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together in public, since the band split nearly two decades ago, on Friday in Cardiff. There will also be dates in Manchester, London and Dublin as part of the tour.

Diddy’s sentencing delayed until October as he’s found guilty on two charges

Disgraced rapper Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs has been denied bail. His sentencing will take place in October.

The hip hop mogul had been found not guilty of racketeering and of sex trafficking former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another woman referred to as ‘Jane. ‘ As the verdict, decided by eight men and four women, acquitted him of the most serious counts, he dropped to the floor.

But as he was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution, relating to Ventura and Jane. During the two-month trial, the court heard how Diddy flew people around the country, including his girlfriends and paid male sex workers, to engage in sexual encounters, a felony violation of the federal Mann Act.

However, he was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, relating to allegations that he forced his former girlfriends into drug-fuelled sex encounters, which had been known as ‘freak offs. ‘ Now, he has been denied bail by judge Arun Subramanian.

The judge denied bail just a minute after re-entering the court. He said he “sees no reason to reach the opposite conclusion now”.

Diddy has been behind bars since he was arrested in September (AP)

Subramanian said: “At trial, the defence conceded defendant’s violence in personal relationships, saying ‘it happened’ in relation to Cassie Venture and Jane. “

He also said there was violence and illegal conduct after the searches of Diddy’s homes, when he knew he was under investigation. “This highlights a disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence,” he added.

Diddy’s attorney, when discussing a motion to release him, told the judge that the disgraced musician had been looking at spending the rest of his life behind bars – but has now been acquitted. “Mr Combs has been given his life by this jury,” said Marc Agnifilo.

He went on to add that Diddy would be “nothing short of a fool,” if he violated any conditions set by the court, should he be released. He commented: “He treasures, I assure you, the opportunity that he has been given, and he will not run afoul of anything this court imposes on him. “

Diddy's lawyer argued he should be released from custody and be able to walk out of the courtroom today

Agnifilo stated that Diddy “should be released on appropriate conditions,” as he had been acquitted on racketeering and sex trafficking. The musician is believed to be considering returning to his home in Miami, where he would abide by the conditions of his release, should he be released. “Is your proposal that he leave this courtroom and walk outside? ” asked the judge, to which Agnifilo replied, it is.

Moments before the verdicts were delivered following days of deliberation, Diddy asked the courtroom to pray for his family, and this was received with applause. When the news was delivered, he fell to his knees, with his head down in his chair, appearing to pray after avoiding the strongest sentence – life in prison for the highest charge.

Diddy’s family, who had supported him throughout the case, clapped and cheered. His defence lawyers hugged one another, and Diddy then stopped and embraced his lawyer, Brian Steel. The mixed result came on day three of deliberations.

Throughout the ongoing trial, Diddy had pleaded not guilty to all allegations made against him. Diddy appeared overwhelmed as the court adjourned for at least a few hours. He wiped his face, turning and kneeling at his chair, his head bowed in prayer. In the audience, his relatives stood and applauded as he faced them.

“I’ll be home soon,” he said, adding: “I love you, baby. ” He went on to say: “I love you, mom. ” Diddy has been behind bars since his arrest in September. His lawyers argued that the acquittal on the most serious counts changed the legal landscape enough that he should get bail.

Bob Vylan facing second police investigation after ‘death to IDF’ chants

Bob Vylan are being investigated by London’s Metropolitan Police after lead singer Pascal Robinson-Foster called for ‘death to the IDF’ while performing at a London venue

Bob Vylan are facing yet another police investigation after an anti-Israel outburst at a show in London. The punk rock duo who recently were criticised for their comments at Glastonbury Festival are currently being investigated by two police forces in different parts of the country.

Officers from London’s Metropolitan Police have confirmed to the Mirror that they are currently looking into footage, which is circulating on social media of the band following their performance at Alexandra Palace on May 28, 2025.

The band have been extremely vocal about their views in recent weeks, which has attracted widespread criticism after the BBC broadcast their set at Glastonbury and didn’t censor their comments. But while on stage at Alexandra Palace, frontman Pascal Robinson-Foster said: “Death to every single IDF soldier out there.

“As an agent of terror for Israel, death to the IDF,” as fans in the crowd began cheering before they started performing another song. When approached by the Mirror, a spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are investigating comments allegedly made during a concert at Alexandra Palace earlier this year.

“The decision to investigate follows the emergence of footage which appears to have been filmed at the venue on 28 May 2025.” The news comes just days after Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that they had also launched a criminal investigation into the band after they chanted: “death, death to the IDF,” and commented on working for “f***ing Zionists,” during their performance on the West Holts stage at Glastonbury.

In a statement, the force said earlier this week: “Video footage and audio from Bob Vylan and Kneecap’s performances at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday has been reviewed.

“Following the completion of that assessment process we have decided further enquiries are required and a criminal investigation is now being undertaken.

“A senior detective has been appointed to lead this investigation. “This has been recorded as a public order incident at this time while our enquiries are at an early stage. The investigation will be evidence-led and will closely consider all appropriate legislation, including relating to hate crimes. “

They added: “We have received a large amount of contact in relation to these events from people across the world and recognise the strength of public feeling. There is absolutely no place in society for hate.

“Neighbourhood policing teams are speaking with people in their local communities and key stakeholders to make sure anyone who needs us knows that we are here for them. We hope the work we have carried out, and are continuing to carry out, reassures the public how seriously we are treating Saturday’s events. We politely ask the public refrain from continuing to report this matter to us because an investigation is already taking place. “

Bob Vylan have since been dropped by both their agent and management, while their US visas have been revoked ahead of their upcoming tour across the States, and performances in the UK, including at Radar Festival, have also been pulled. Moments after their performance, Glastonbury bosses issued a statement, saying that they had been “appalled” by the comments and that the lead singer of Bob Vylan had “crossed a line. “

Since the controversy, the band have taken to social media, saying: “We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people. We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine. We like those in the spotlight before us are not the story. We are a distraction from the story. We are being targeted for speaking up. Free Palestine. “
