Following a collision close to her home in Deeping St Nicholas, Lincolnshire, in January 2024, Amanda Mealing admitted using cocaine in her system.
After a nurse was seriously hurt in a cocaine-fueled car crash, Amanda Mealing, the owner of Casualty, has found herself a new job. The actress, who traveled to Malta earlier this month to work on a special episode of Channel 5’s Good Ship Murder alongside well-known faces like Ross Adams, Shayne Ward, and Catherine Tyldesley, has a new project to focus on.
After admitting to driving while with cocaine in her system and not paying due care and attention after a collision at her home in Deeping St Nicholas, Lincolnshire, back in January 2024, the 57-year-old was given the chance to re-enter the industry.
Amanda’s lawyer claimed that the actress turned to cocaine as part of her divorce from Richard Sainsburys while the court hearing was taking place in March. She was also grieving the passing of her dog, best friend, and father.

Amanda was also given a blood cancer diagnosis after years of receiving breast cancer. She reportedly took cocaine the night before the collision and was driving home when her car crossed the road and struck a nurse’s Skoda.
Due to the accident, he had to change his profession and suffer severe injuries. Connie Beauchamp’s actress, who appears in Casualty on the show, was given a 28-month driving ban after already serving a six-month interim ban. She was then reduced to 22 months.
Additionally, she was required to pay a £194 surcharge and a £400 cost of the case. She consented to make the monthly payment of £100.
According to a source, Amanda is a phenomenal actress who has established a number of fans in the field. Everyone has gathered around her in support. She admitted what she did and made an open confession about what was happening in her life at the time.
She has endured a lot, and she is not a bad person. Before the court case, she had already been in discussions about appearing on a murder mystery drama. And when it was over, she immediately found the crucial little guest role.
On Channel 5, there are a lot of highly regarded stars on Good Ship Murder each week. Next year, the third series will be broadcast on television.
Other stars due to appear on the next series will include Birds of a Feather legends Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph. Since leaving her job at Casualty in 2021, Amanda has moved from acting to directing which included for an episode of the BBC TV series Waterloo Road.
