After experiencing severe side effects, including dizziness, nausea, and heart palpitations, supermodel Caprice Bourret has cautioned people about weight-loss injections.
Caprice Bourret has spoken out about the dangers of weight-loss injections after experiencing severe side effects from Mounjaro.
The 53-year-old model, who is well known for her distinguished career in fashion and television, claimed she turned to the injection after gaining 20 pounds last year, going from an 8 to a 12. Caprice claimed that she struggled physically and emotionally as a result of her weight gain.
The model blared, “My health was deteriorating and I was feeling really bad about myself.” I huff and puff like a baby when I step up the stairs. When I jumped out of bed, the extra weight made my back, joints, and back hurt and stiff. I became aware that my immunity was deteriorating as I became ill more frequently.

She explained that she had gotten more fit after cutting out of her regular diet and drinking red wine and chocolate. According to Bourret, losing weight naturally turned out to be very challenging due to the menopause.
Her doctor gave her a “microdose” of Mounjaro, but Caprice quickly realized the side effects were too much for her to handle. It was terrible. My stomach hurts now. She said, “It made me feel lightheaded and dizzy, but I kept going because I needed to lose weight.”
She added that she began experiencing heart palpitations, which she described as alarming for someone her age. “Then I started having these weird heart palpitations. Who has that at 53? I was too young for what was going on,” the model told The Sun.
Caprice stopped the injection after losing only five pounds in two months, switching to a strict diet, cutting out processed sugar and carbohydrates, to lose the weight naturally.
She also revealed that several friends who have used Ozempic or Mounjaro have experienced side effects like hair loss and skin loss.
Your skin changes and loosens when you take Mounjaro for a long time. I witnessed it with some friends. You might think you’ll avoid it, but you don’t, she said. Some of them even lost their hair because their bodies were being starved.
She urged caution, stressing that while losing weight naturally is more difficult, it is also safer over the long run. Ozempic is not approved for weight loss, but it should only be used by people with diabetes to reduce their symptoms.
Caprice, who was born and raised in Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles, left home when she was 17 to pursue modeling in New York. After wearing a daring Versace lace dress at the 1990s, she quickly gained notoriety and made a name for herself on magazine covers.
She later founded her own production company, JJLove Productions, named after her sons Jett and Jax, and established a successful lingerie empire and property portfolio.
The model continues to work across fashion and film, with her latest movie, A Scottish Christmas Secret, set to air on Channel 5 later this year.
Caprice has stated that while working on her professional projects, she continues to be committed to health and wellness despite the difficulties of menopause and natural aging.
