Pool A of the Rugby World Cup features England and Australia.

Brighton and Hove Albion Stadium Date: Saturday, September 6th, 2017 Kick-off: 17:00 BST

Caitlyn Halse has many qualities that are admirable.

The 18-year-old is the youngest Australian to compete in the Women’s Rugby World Cup. She is as knowledgeable about her past as she does.

When the full-back was questioned about her favorite childhood rugby player this week, she chose one who had already retired a year prior.

According to Halse, “Christian Cullen” refers to the quicksilver All Black full-back who scored 46 tries for New Zealand in 58 Tests.

I enjoyed watching him play. He had more of a wing-to-full-back style, but how he controlled the line and his speed. “

For John Mitchell, Halse would have more archive footage to gorge on.

One of Mitchell’s first responsibilities as England coach in his early 2000s tenure was to fire Cullen, age 25, in the process.

Cullen and Mitchell’s relationship ended abruptly, and Cullen only played a small number of Test matches before being forced to leave for Munster due to injuries.

When Australia take on England on Saturday, Halse will aim to haunt Mitchell with his pace and lines reminiscent of Cullen’s ghosting from the heart.

She has scored four tries and assisted three more than any other player at the World Cup so far, earning the nickname “The Kid” by her team-mates.

More is required of The Wallaroos.

With little chance of a trend changing, England has already won all seven of their previous meetings. For the match, Halse’s side are 80% outsiders.

Instead of winning the knockout stages, the Wallaroos must either claim a four-try bonus point or keep their 135-point advantage over a United States side that hosts Samoa earlier on Saturday.

Halse is aware that the majority of the traffic will be hers.

She said, “England’s back three are undoubtedly very quick.”

Ellie Kildunne, the full-back, and Abby Dow, the wing duo, have scored 143 tries in 158 Tests combined.

Breach has since recovered from a serious hip injury and found her pinball zing once more.

She will want to add to her five tries so far in the tournament in front of a crowd of more than 30 000 people and live close to where she was born.

England are close to 100%, with the exception of Zoe Aldcroft’s injured captain’s potential return for the knockout stages.

After receiving the six shirts, Morwenna Talling, who is more frequently a second row, will attempt to claim a spot in the back row. Alex Matthews, the captain, acknowledged at the number eight that she was taken aback.

After recovering from an ankle injury to replace her on the bench, Holly Aitchison, a playmaking fly-half, will have the opportunity to pull the strings for the first time in the tournament.

Otherwise, selections will be adjusted and locked down in England.

They will road-test against, at least in terms of the world ranking, their most successful opponents so far, with the safety net of a quarter-final place already in place.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to expand on what we’ve already established,” Mitchell said.

We’re aiming for a strong performance,” the statement read. It will be interesting to see whether Australia kick or run when they last play them, which was 42-7 in our last game in October 2023.

Which is a great opportunity for us because they both need to play.

Jo Yapp, who led England to the 2006 World Cup final, examines the match from a different angle.

At the conclusion of the tournament, she will remain in England, putting an end to her nearly two-year reign as Australia’s head.

Yapp won’t want to be distracted by her former team, but she also won’t want to be let down by England.

In every Test we have played, the focus is always on us and on improving as a team, Yapp said.

There has been a real focus on that this week and what we can bring and be better at because we had a lot of things right last weekend [in the 31-31 draw with the United States] but also had a few things we were a little disappointed with.

If Yapp is soon to represent Australia’s past, she will leave behind young talent like Halse for the future.

England will also be considering the future.

With 30 wins on the spin coming from Brighton, that’s 30 wins. Prior to the final Rugby World Cup final, they had amassed the same number. and squandered
