Over the weekend, Nicola Peltz shared her ongoing grief over the passing of her grandmothers, but she also continued to criticize his 50th birthday.
During an annual sporting event, Nicola Peltz wrote a heartbreaking tribute to her late grandmothers as she remembered them both. The 30-year-old actress and filmmaker has grandmothers named Bunny and Gina while her grandmothers are Claudia Heffner and Nelson Peltz, a billionaire businessman and model.
Nicola and Brooklyn Beckham’s passing in recent years left her devastated and with Bunny receiving the honor of maid of honor at her wedding in April of that year. Gina passed away on January 21, 2020 on Nicola’s birthday, while Bunny passed away in May 2024 at the age of 95.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Nicola shared a series of photographs of herself smiling and laughing alongside the two women. She penned a heartfelt message alongside the string of images – making it clear both were still close to her heart.
The actress from Transformers: Age of Extinction wrote, “In life, we have core memories, and this is one of my most favorite days I’ve ever lived. There was never a day I didn’t spend with them because they were my closest friends.
I just miss you both so much, my Naunni and my Gina, and I can’t bear the thought of not being able to hug you or laugh at you right now. I feel scared because I feel farther away from you the further I go since you left Earth.
I remember this day so clearly when I brought everyone to me with Dior fancy sneakers, and I was so proud to match you both this entire summer,” Nicola continued in response to the images she shared.
And then she went on to explain why she had been brought up with the two women and that she would never forget watching the Kentucky Derby on television with you both every year. I cherish you both the most and cherish your every second.
Nicole continued, “I hope I see you soon and that you are currently looking after me.” I’m forever with you, but I’m more than in love with you because of how much you’ve made me feel as a child.
She continued, “I felt more loved than loved, and I think you both feel more loved than loved.”
Nicola’s emotional post comes amid reports of growing friction between her and husband Brooklyn against his family, the Beckhams. For days, football icon David Beckham has been celebrating his 50th birthday with a string of gatherings and events.
He reportedly made friends and family kneel together at his Cotswolds home before participating in additional celebrations on Friday in France. A-List friends and the sports star and his family gathered for a party at a prestigious restaurant in London on Saturday night.
However, Nicola and Brooklyn were absent from all celebrations and, glaringly, did not write any online condolences for David. The footballer is said to be heartbroken by the decision.
David is “heartbroken but putting a brave face on it,” a source told The Sun over the weekend. David and his wife, Nicola, had been incredibly desperate to change their minds.
The fact that he hasn’t attended one of David’s 50th celebrations hurts the entire family, including the grandparents and siblings, is a dagger to the heart.
While there have long been rumours of a feud between Nicola and her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham – rumours that the pair have attempted to quash by supporting each other online and at fashion events – a new cause of a rift has emerged in recent weeks. It has been reported that Brooklyn has clashed with his younger brother Romeo over his choice of girlfriend.
On Saturday night, Romeo, 22, and his partner Kim Turnbull, 24, arrived in the same car as Cruz Beckham, 20, and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29 – with the two couples looking in good spirits as they arrived to party in elegant evening wear.
