Everything to know as Brooklyn Beckham remains in contact with some relatives
- Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly instructed his parents, Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham, to only contact him via his lawyers. In recent years, the wannabe chef has been at loggerheads with his family, with whom he has since become estranged. Tensions had been at breaking point, but it appeared there was no coming back when Brooklyn failed to acknowledge David’s 50th birthday. Brooklyn had reportedly been in London at the time of the celebrations, but rather than attending a public party, he had hoped to meet his dad privately. He also failed to acknowledge his dad receiving a knighthood from King Charles.
- Despite the fallout, David and Victoria had extended several olive branches to their eldest son. This included tagging him in various social media posts when discussing their family, including at Christmas and birthdays. But this is said to have angered the former aspiring photographer. Victoria had also been seen liking Brooklyn’s posts on the Meta platform, Instagram, including a video of him making a roast chicken, which he posted. Hours later Brooklyn’s immediate family found themselves blocked by him.
- Brooklyn’s blocking of his parents on Instagram came after he sent his parents a legal notice, stating they can only contact him via his lawyers, at the ‘end of last summer’. The desist letter also instructed his family to stop tagging him in social media posts. Reports claim that Victoria had allegedly breached the letter by liking his social media post, which led to Brooklyn blocking his parents, two brothers and little sister on the platform.
- A source told The Sun: “The reality is that he issued them with a letter at the end of last summer, asking for any correspondence to go via lawyers only, and wanted to try and make amends privately, not publicly. He felt his parents continued to ignore his wishes and kept mentioning him online instead of reaching out privately.” The source went on to add that Sir David and former singer Victoria had been letting Brooklyn know that they would still love him, regardless of their fallout.
- But while David, Victoria, Romeo, Cruz and young Harper are blocked, Brooklyn remains in contact with some of his relatives. It’s reported that Brooklyn has not cut contact with his grandparents, Ted and Sandra Beckham, as well as Victoria’s parents, Tony and Jackie Adams, having called them over the festive period. Brooklyn’s Instagram shows that he’s also following David’s sisters, Joanne and Lynne. He’s also still following Victoria’s sister, Louise, as well as his cousins Quincy, Tallulah, Fin and Liberty.
- A source previously said: “Brooklyn absolutely adores them and knows how much pain this is causing everyone. So he has reached out in his own time, but tried to keep it low-key so as not to drag them into it. Brooklyn is navigating this soul-crushing family feud as best he can, but it isn’t easy on anyone. Nicola remains his absolute rock.”
- It’s been reported that the feud between the Beckhams and the Beckham-Peltz family has been simmering for almost four years – and is said to have begun in the lead-up to Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding and worsened over the past year.
