The Beckham family home, especially between Victoria and Nicola, is showing signs of trouble, according to a body language expert, and it doesn’t look pretty.
The Beckham family feud is, unsurprisingly, the talk of the town (read: world) as people everywhere try to decode hidden meanings from eldest son Brooklyn Beckham’s bombshell Instagram statement denouncing his superstar family and search for the first signs of a rift.
For decades, the Beckham’s have prided themselves on being a postcard-perfect family unit — that is until billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz came along. If sources are to be believed, all bets were off once the American actress and David Beckham’s eldest son fell in love, with regular rumours surfacing of problems between the young lovebirds and the rest of the Beckham clan.
A body language expert has now identified the first warning signs that trouble was beginning to break out in the Beckham family home.
Leading body language and communication expert Judi James has exclusively deciphered for The Mirror the subtle signs that all was not well between the two Beckham ladies — matriarch Victoria Beckham and her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Closely examining a picture of David, Victoria, Nicola, and Brooklyn from the red carpet launch event of Netflix’s original series Beckham, Judi has given her expert take on the non-verbal signs which first signalled a proper rift was emerging between Victoria and Nicola, with Brooklyn appearing to be the buffer between the two leading ladies of his life.
Judi says, “The Netflix red carpet images are the only non-verbal indication of potential trouble in Beckham-brand heaven.”
Brooklyn appears to act as a human airbag between his mother and Nicola while Victoria poses in the hub or the family pose. Although he displays the appropriate social smile in front of the cameras, Nicola and Victoria appear to be uneasy and uneasy, and he almost appears to be ignored.
Brooklyn leans in and looks at his mother while also rubbing Nicola’s waist to gently pull her into the lineup.
Another image, this one from the red carpet premiere of Nicola’s own film Lola, which was written, directed, and starring the billionaire heiress, contrasts starkly with the expert interpreting Nicola’s body language as being “on the opposite end of the spectrum”: “Nicola’s own red carpet launch showed a very different body language and emotional mood.
Nicola poses alone with Victoria, and she appears to be very happy, relaxed, and amiable, presenting Victoria to the camera with a proud smile.
As she reaches out and lets one arm rest on Victoria’s shoulders, “Nicola’s touch rituals suggest a lack of inhibition, hinting at a close friendship.”
The actress takes on what is regarded as David’s role in photographs in two other photos, where Nicola wraps her arms around her mother-in-law and various other members of the Beckham family, according to the expert.
Judi claims that other family members were also present in the “arms as protective or proprietorial wings” pose.
There are examples of Nicola doing the same, which suggests a strong desire to connect with their families or even care for them as a single, large family unit.
“One pose features David joining his wife and Brooklyn and Victoria happily endorsing it by leaning their heads in Nicola’s direction.”
The body language expert claims that this image, which was taken during a relaxed ladies’ night out with Antonela Roccuzzo and Elena Galera, depicts the pair as a “fond double act.”
She continued, “Even the more secluded socializing photo at the table shows Victoria and Nicola singling themselves out as a fond duo, with Nicola receiving a happy endorsing hand clasp in return.”
In fact, their famous Instagram selfie shows their special bond, long before Brooklyn’s statement. “In their selfie photo it looks like Victoria wanting to capture the more intimate moment while Nicola snuggles into her with a fond-looking smile,” explains the expert.
What exactly went so disastrously wrong between these two women, and will either party continue to speak out against each other in this contentious conflict? Only time will tell.
