Simon Cowell was irritated when the first Britain’s Got Talent semi-final was thrown into chaos. When the judges were due to perform the second act of the night on stage, things quickly started to go wrong, but hosts Ant and Dec made it clear that the schedule wouldn’t stick.
Teddy Magic was all set to appear after a lengthy introduction, but the stage remained empty during the moment of chaos. Although it was not made clear why the schoolboy was unable to perform his act, it was understandable that the judges were sympathetic to the eight-year-old.
However, Simon didn’t allow Teddy’s softer years to come at him. Teddy is still unprepared for backstage so we’ll just chat to you judges, he wasn’t mentioned, while Dec explained that there would be a slight change in plans. His double act was interrupted by “Just as he prepares and stays composed backstage.”
On the spot, the pair asked Simon what he thought of the first act before ad-libbering. He retorted, “Wait, so the act’s not ready,” rather than responding. Ted and Simon both admitted that Teddy needed more time, and Deco said, “Well that’s okay, it’s live.”
“He’s only eight years old, so back off”! The head judge repeatedly says, “It’s fine, it’s fine. He’s not ready if he’s not ready. Simon’s words didn’t seem particularly impressive, and his reaction caused a booing in the crowd. Then he inquired, “Why are they booing?”
Simon suggested that he wasn’t as sluggish as he had made out, saying, “You’ve got to be ready. We’re all fine, but Ant said, “He needs to get ready.”

Many fans on X, the former Twitter, voted with Ant when he advised Simon to play up some of the rules for the extremely young contestant. Give Teddy a break, Simon. He obviously has anxiety. You may be watching a TV show, but you also have a duty to take precautions, a user wrote.
“I’m hoping Teddy’s alright. Another praiseworthy of the hosts is “Ant &, Dec yet again demonstrate their professionalism, knowing how to fill the void and keep the show moving when things don’t go according to plan.”
One fan wrote, “Teddy is having a breakdown,” and others claimed the incident was a prime example of why talent shows should be limited to adults. When children are never going to win, it’s cruel to put them through this.

Teddy first auditioned in the beginning, when he magically removed the fizz from an orange drink before magically making a champagne bottle pop without even touching it. In Blackpool, his impressive performance won the hearts of the judges and the audience, and received a standing ovation from everyone there.
Teddy, I’m just in awe of what I just witnessed, KSI said to the young boy following his jaw-dropping audition. You are so confident, it’s incredible. You’re already famous when you’re older, and I’ve never seen anything quite like it. That was incredible.
