Before her official death was announced, a rumour circulated that she had passed away following three weeks of medical care at a hospital near her Saint-Tropez home. A post from a celebrity news account on X, which was quickly deleted, reportedly read: “An icon has passed away, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy and an eternal imprint on the hearts of the French.”
The actress immediately responded to the rumor with the following statement: “I don’t know which imbecile started this fake news about my]death] but I know that I’m well and that I have no intention of taking my leave.

She passed away two months after the post. The star’s charitable foundation made the announcement in a tribute that spoke of her desire to dedicate her life and energy to animal welfare and her foundation.
