Hollywood legend Brigitte Bardot was confronted with false rumors about her death earlier this week, but she is still alive. She took to X to denounce the false rumors, calling them “fools.”

Iconic french actress Brigitte Bardot has broken her silence after false rumours claimed she had died. The 91-year-old shared a statement to social media, where she insisted any speculation about her death was “fake news” shared by a “fool”.

Earlier this month, Brigitte was rushed to hospital with a “serious illness” and required surgery. However, around the same time, influencer Aniss Zitouni, better known as Aqababe, took to social media to say the actress had died.

In posts on multiple platforms, the influencer wrote: “According to my exclusive information, Brigitte Bardot died today. Her coffin was ordered in Saint-Paul-de-Jarrat in the 09 (Ariège) department. An icon has passed away, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy and an eternal imprint on the hearts of the French.”

However, Brigitte herself has confirmed that she is still alive and that she has also signed a letter to X promising that she has no intention of ceasing anytime soon, calling the rumor “fake news.”

She wrote, “I don’t know which fool made this false news about my disappearance tonight,” but you can be assured that I’m doing well and that I have no plans to leave.”

Before returning to her Saint-Tropez home, Brigitte spent three weeks in a private hospital in Toulon following her operation. The actress’s spokesperson confirmed to the media that she is “resting” and “doing fine.” She had surgery alone, but the illness has not been revealed.

The famous actress was reportedly suffering respiratory problems at her home on the French Riviera when she was reportedly suffering in July 2023. Her husband, Bernard d’Ormale, claimed at the time that she was suffering from a “respiratory distraction” and could no longer handle the heat. She appeared to improve after receiving oxygen from the doctors, though.

Brigitte, who was born in Paris in 1937, is now hardly ever seen in public. She is one of the most well-known actresses of the 1950s and 1960s. She had already established herself as a model when she first appeared on the front cover of Elle when she was 15 years old.

She went on to be known across the world for her performances in films such as And Got Created Woman and Viva Maria!, but retired from acting in 1973 to focus on being an animal rights activist.

By the time she retired, Brigitte had acted in 60 songs, 60 movies, and appeared in several musicals. For her contributions to animal rights and entertainment, she has received numerous awards.
