Julio Enciso, a Brighton forward, will make a total of £17.3 million when he joins Strasbourg, with the intention of playing for Chelsea in France after a year there.

In the coming days, the 21-year-old is expected to finalize terms of a contract with Brighton, including a sell-on clause.

The move for the Paraguay international could be the most significant deal to come after the £65.25 million takeover in 2023, as Strasbourg are associated with Chelsea under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Chelsea and Strasbourg have strong ties, with both Chelsea and Strasbourg under the leadership of Englishman Liam Rosenior, who have loanees from Stamford Bridge for goalkeepers Kendry Paez and Mamadou Sarr.

In addition to signing former Chelsea players like Ishe Samuels-Smith, Mathis Amougou, and Diego Moreira, Strasbourg has also signed a number of players from the club, including Sekou Mara and former Southampton players Valentin Barco.

Last year saw the Alsace club advance to the Conference League with a seventh-place finish.

Enciso departs Brighton after being eliminated from the squad for the opening draw against Fulham.
