Brian May says it’s ‘hard to enjoy anything’ in glum New Year message

Sir Brian May, a renowned queen legend, has emailed fans to stress the value of good health following a 2024 stroke.

In a sincere message to supporters for the new year, Sir Brian May, the legendary queen legend, admitted it’s “hard to enjoy anything” without good health. The 78-year-old rocker and astrophysicist has had a “scary” stroke in August 2024, as well as other health issues.

Though he didn’t mention his own particular health struggles in the post, it’s evident he values good health and everything that comes with it. Addressing his 3.6 million Instagram followers, he shared an animated illustration of himself beaming and strumming his guitar whilst his track New Horizons played in the background.

He remarked, “Hello, dear people! I wish you a wonderful New Year, new opportunities, new dreams, new challenges, and new fulfillment in these ways. also good health

Supporters flooded the comments with praise for the artist’s work and encouragement for the star. “Dear Bri, I wish you a very happy New Year, Anita and all of those who are close to you! May you always be happy and at ease! Because you are someone who does what it takes, I am certain that your dreams will come true,” one person wrote.

“Sir Brian, wishing you and your loved ones a happy new year. In 2026, we wish you the best of everything. You always have lots of love and respect”! another comment was made. “Dr. Bri, Happy New Year 2026! ” What wonderful memories can you bring back of New Horizons and the stunning art! Everyone, be happy, tranquil, and well. a third was added.

A fourth person shared: “Happy New Year, Sir Brian! Wishing you a year filled with smiles and joy. Please take good care of yourself during this cold season”, reports the Express.

A fifth poem, “Dear Bri- Thank you for wishing us such beautiful sentiments in this Happy New Year!” was in progress. I wish you many happy things, endless possibilities, love, and new discoveries, as well as more exciting things and new opportunities for you.

“New Horizons is something we can look for.” We can “get to the stars”! As a “wake-up call,” Brian has described his health issues.

He revealed that he had a number of things, including a stroke, while appearing on Alan Titchmarsh’s Love Your Weekend in November 2025. I possess these things, but I don’t seem to be able to escape them. You are called as a wake-up call.

He confirmed that despite initially losing control of one arm, he could play guitar once more despite a week later having a “health hiccup” in his case. In 2020, Brian also had a heart attack.

Having first dismissed it as a gardening injury, Brian now acknowledges he “could have died”. Following his health scare, he had three stents – tiny tubes which keep blocked arteries open – fitted into his heart, supporting his recovery.
