At the conclusion of the summer transfer window, Brentford manager Keith Andrews “fully anticipates” Yoane Wissa to remain at the club.

The 28-year-old forward’s bids for Newcastle were rejected in two separate bids, with the most recent offering costing up to £40 million.

Wissa deleted all ties to Brentford from his Instagram account last week. He returned to training after missing the Bees’ opening Premier League games against Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

The DR Congo frontman won’t play for his team at Bournemouth on Tuesday (19:45 BST), but Andrews predicts Wissa will stay a Brentford player.

Hence, Yoane won’t be involved. However, as far as I’m concerned, there hasn’t been any change, and I’m anticipating Yoane arriving on Tuesday.

Andrews believed that Wissa’s removal from the Cherries’ orbit was “best for the group” ().

The Brentford manager, who was appointed in June after Thomas Frank’s departure from Tottenham, stated that he always knew Wissa would be a transfer target this summer. Wissa has scored 49 goals in 149 games for the Bees.

“I knew there was, or would be, interest,” added Andrews. Naturally, when you score that many Premier League goals and perform exceptionally well, especially last year.
