Bournemouth close on £30.6m move for Brazilian

Rayan, a Vasco da Gama striker, is close to signing for Bournemouth in a deal worth about £30.6 million.

The 19-year-old Brazilian is interested in joining the Premier League to advance his development, and other European clubs have expressed interest.

At the Vitality Stadium, there is now more confidence that Rayan will succeed Antoine Semenyo, who made a $65 million move to Manchester City last week.

It would be Bournemouth’s joint-second biggest transfer, behind only the £32 million move to sign fellow striker Evanilson from Porto in 2024, if the deal is finalized.

Although primarily a left-footed center-forward, Rayan can play either flank. In 34 top-flight matches played by Brazil’s under-20s last year, the international scored 14 goals.

With the signing of Hungary midfielder Alex Toth from Ferencvaros for £10.4 million on Tuesday, Bournemouth have been one of the most busy clubs this winter transfer window.
