After Taylor Swift was engulfed in their drama, Blake Lively’s team and It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni have spoken out in response to her ongoing legal battle.
Blake Lively has something to celebrate as her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni has made a huge decision in their ongoing legal battle. The legal debate kicked off following Blake and Justin’s time working together on the film, that was released last summer.
She initially brought a sexual harassment lawsuit against Justin, but she has since strongly refuted the allegations. He responded, however, by filing a $ 400 million defamation lawsuit against her, her publicist, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, who have all refuted the accusations.
Additionally, Justin has launched a $250 million libel case against the New York Times over their coverage of Blake’s allegations. Earlier this month, Blake’s pal Taylor Swift was dragged into the scandal when she was officially subpoenaed to appear as a witness.
The pop star was delivered a legal notice by Justin’s lawyer Bryan Freedman – a decision which had been slammed by her team as a tactic to create clickbait.
Justin is no longer making requests for the Bad Blood hitmaker to appear as a witness in a move that is intended to please Blake and Taylor. Blake allegedly called on Taylor and “her high-profile friends” to “manipulate Justin at every turn,” according to Bryan Freedman.
Taylor’s reps claim that she was not involved in the making of It Ends With Us but did allow her hit song My Tears Ricochet to be used in the movie.
They slammed the subpoena, claiming it was “designed to use Taylor Swift ’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”
Blake’s representative said they are “pleased” with the decision, and Justin’s legal team has since dropped the subpoena.
They told People, “We supported Taylor’s team’s efforts to stop these inappropriate subpoenas directed at her counsel, and we will continue to fight for any third party who is being harassed or threatened in the process.”
The Baldoni and Wayfarer team allegedly tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has inspired tens of millions of people all over the world, at the center of the investigation from day one.
They claimed that “the original plan was [PR professional] Melissa Nathan’s scenario planning document, and it continues to this day,” and that it was “to exploit Taylor Swift’s celebrity.”
They filed, “Faced with having to defend themselves in federal court.” They will eventually run out of distractions from the actual allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation, according to them.
Taylor Swift never visited the set of the film, according to a representative for the superstar at the time, and she never did not even see it during the weeks following its public release. She also traveled the world in 2023 and 2024 while leading the biggest tour in history.
They continued to Daily Mail: “Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”
Justin’s representative has been contacted by The Mirror for comment.
