Billy Joel’s daughter Alexa has broken her silence after her famous father revealed he had a rare brain disorder. The 76-year-old broke the news to fans earlier this week and cancelled all his upcoming tour dates.
The Uptown Girl singer said in an official statement two days ago that Billy Joel had recently been told that he would be rescheduling all of his scheduled concerts.
Recent concert performances have made this condition worse, causing balance, vision, and hearing issues. Billy is currently receiving specific physical therapy and has been advised to avoid performing during this recovery period in accordance with his doctor’s instructions.
Billy is appreciative of the high level of care he is receiving, according to the social media statement. He appreciates the fans’ continued support at this time and looks forward to the day when he can take the stage once more. Billy, who was scheduled to play shows in Edinburgh and Liverpool next month, said, “I’m so sorry for the audience’s disappointment, and I appreciate your patience.

Speaking out on her dad’s condition for the first time, his 39-year-old daughter Alexa – who Billy shares with ex-wife, model Christie Brinkley – took to Instagram to say: “SOUND UP. We love you and we got you, Pop!”
In response to the recent reports of My Father’s health diagnosis, Alexa, who is also a singer-songwriter, continued, “I just wanted to thank you all for the beautiful outpouring of love and support.
My father, who I’ve known, is the strongest and most resilient man I’ve ever met, and he’s completely dedicated to making a full recovery while receiving ongoing physical therapy.
Before quoting some lyrics from the song Lullabye (Good Night My Angel), which her father wrote for her, she said, “The genuine care, empathy, and concern from everyone means a lot to him… it means a lot to me, too.”
