After learning that Billy Joel had a brain condition, he admitted to speaking out about his health. On a recent podcast, he updated with an update that included a discussion of one of his symptoms.
The 76-year-old singer-songwriter announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus. The condition, which is “uncommon” and typically affects people over the age of 60, can have mobility issues and dementia as its symptoms, according to the NHS.
In a podcast episode that was released today, Grammy Award winner Billy updated his health. Bill Maher, 69, told the host on the most recent episode of the Club Random podcast that he felt “fine.”
Bill and Bill spoke about the musician’s new and premiered HBO and HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes. I learned a lot about you, Bill said. Your health first, of course. All of your fans want to know that you did something. We fixed it, did ?
Guest Billy responded to the question, “It’s not fixed, it’s still being worked on.” Billy continued to describe his self-confidence after the host claimed that he “looks good” and “sounds good.” My balance is terrible; it’s like being in a boat.
Billy claimed that his condition, known as “water on the brain,” was once called normal pressure hydrocephalus. He responded, “Nobody knows what causes it,” and he replied, “Nobody knows.” They are unsure. He continued, “I believed it must have been caused by drinking.” Then Billy stated, “But I used to, like a fish, that I don’t drink any more.”
He continued, “I feel good. It sounds much worse than what I’m feeling because they keep referring to it as a brain disorder, y’know?
Billy’s postponement of some concerts was made public in March despite a medical condition that was not immediately known. On his most recent tour, he had been scheduled to perform at venues like Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium.
Due to a medical condition, Billy’s upcoming concert dates will be rescheduled, according to a statement issued on his behalf. He will have four months off of his current tour so that he can recover from recent surgery and go to physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors.
Billy expressed his regret in a statement that was included in the announcement, which was “expected to make a full recovery.” He said, “My health must come first, even though I regret postponing any shows. I’m eager to return to the stage and perform live music to our incredible fans. I appreciate your understanding.

Following a “recent” diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), it was revealed two months later that he would be rescheduling all of his concert dates. According to some, gigs “exacerbated” the condition.
This condition, according to a statement released at the time, has been made worse by recent concert performances, which have caused issues with hearing, vision, and balance. Billy is currently receiving specific physical therapy and has been advised to avoid performing during this recovery period in accordance with his doctor’s instructions.
It continued, “Billy is appreciative of the high level of care he is receiving and is completely dedicated to putting his health first.” He appreciates the fans’ continued support at this time and looks forward to the day when he can take the stage once more.
Billy apologised to fans in his own statement from the time in a statement released at the time. He expressed his regret for the audience’s disappointment and his sincere gratitude for your understanding.
