Bill Murray addresses rumours that he’s dating Kelis Rogers

Hollywood actor Bill Murray, 74, has now spoken about the rumours suggesting he had been dating singer Kelis Rogers, 45.

At the time, Kelis dismissed the gossip, responding to a fan who asked if the rumours were true by saying people “will believe anything”.

Bill has now commented on the attention their unexpected friendship received during an interview on SiriusXM’s Sway In The Morning. He told host Sway Calloway: “I met this girl named Kelis. I got great press that I was dating her, which really raised my cred”. He explained that his interest in Kelis started years ago when he first saw her in the music video for Ol ‘ Dirty Bastard’s 1999 song Got Your Money.

Bill said: “I love that video, I watched that. I kept going, ‘ That’s the silliest thing. How did I miss that when it came out in the first place? ‘ It’s so crazy, and I’m going, ‘ Who is the girl with the red hair? ‘ And it was Kelis, so I just had to meet her sometime. She’s turned out to be spectacular”. He also mentioned that they had been in contact again but denied any romantic involvement, saying: “No. No, but, you know, one of us could be on the rebound any second”.

Last year, Kelis, who is best-known for her hit Milkshake, finally addressed the rumours after it was reported that the famous duo had been “getting close for a while”. With an almost 30-year age gap, Kelis and Bill, 72, have been hitting the headlines as fans speculate over their rumoured relationship.

Kelis spoke out via an Instagram post, with her replying to one fan’s question, which in turn took a veiled swipe at any criticism their romance has received. Taking to her page, the American singer-songwriter posed up a storm in a bikini while enjoying the sunshine and frolicking on the beach. Leaving fans enamoured by her beauty in a multi-coloured bikini that showed off her curves, Kelis was aglow as she rocked her hair styled into braids.

“I’m a beach bum”, she said in the caption. But although fans were quick to gush over Kelis ‘ beauty, most fans wanted to know about her alleged romance with the Ghostbusters star. “Ma’am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations? Because damn! What he doing with all that”? brazenly asked one fan in the comments section. Kelis replied to the fan, although the response might not have been what they expected.

“Lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all”, Kelis replied in regards to the first part of the comment about her caring to address the allegations. Despite Kelis ‘ blunt response, fans wouldn’t drop it, with one asking: “Should I believe the Bill Murray rumour”? And another pressing: “Are you dating Bill Murray or not”?
