Bill Cosby is responding to the devastating news of Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s shocking death, revealing it brought back painful memories of when his own son was murdered.

Malcolm-Jamal’s sudden death from accidental drowning during a family holiday in Costa Rica was confirmed on Monday, July 21.

Bill’s representative, Andrew Wyatt, revealed to TMZ that when Bill received the call about Malcolm-Jamal’s passing, it instantly reminded him of the moment he was told his son Ennis Cosby had been fatally shot during a botched robbery whilst he was in the studio filming The Cosby Show in January 1997 and in 2018 Bill also lost his daughter Esna at the age of 44.

According to Andrew, Bill was affected by Malcolm-Jamal’s death in the same way that his son’s death was.

He also explained how the Resident star used to play with Ennis during their childhood and “were amazing together.”, reports the Mirror US.

Son and father

As father and son, Bill and Malcolm-Jamal co-starred in The Cosby Show.

The publication reported they were informed that during Bill’s final conversation with Malcolm-Jamal, the late 54 year old was thrilled about a major concert in Minneapolis and “felt like he was changing the world.”

Bill’s relatives were left in stitches when Andrew revealed that he is reminiscing about Malcolm-Jamal’s trip to the Cosby family’s estate in Massachusetts. The Little Bill star believes Malcolm-Jamal has had a significant influence on his life and acting career, which will continue to shape the world, according to Bill’s representative.

The Huxtables, an upper middle-class Black American family residing in Brooklyn, New York, were a part of The Cosby Show. The fictional family’s father and mother were played by Phylicia Rashad and Bill (Clair Huxtable), respectively.

Theo Huxtable, the only boy in the cast of the renowned sitcom, was played by Malcolm-Jamal, one of the five children.

In the wake of the 88-year-old’s sexual assault allegations and conviction, Bill and Malcolm-Jamal had a complicated relationship. Numerous allegations that Bill of sexual assault were made by a significant number of women were made public in 2015.

Malcolm-Jamal has expressed his differing opinions about the allegations against Bill and the verdict that came after his conviction. When Bill’s accusations were made public in 2015, he referred to the situation as “painful.”

He is one of my mentors, and he has had a significant impact on my life as a friend and mentor. Malcolm-Jamal later admitted to being very open and honest with Billboard. It’s just as painful to hear a woman describe sexual assault, whether it’s real or not, just as my friend and mentor experience it.

He continued, “I can’t really speak on any of the allegations because I wasn’t there, of course.”

What Bill Cosby has done for comedy and television has been legendary and history-making, according to the person I know. He has made a significant contribution to the black community through education.

“I am familiar with Bill Cosby.” On the other stuff, I’m unable to comment.

Words of the day

His most recent public appearance with journalist Jemele Hill in 2023 addressed the claim.

When asked if Bill’s situation had had an impact on the lives of the cast of The Cosby Show and the reputation of the show, he said, “No.” Not resentment … For one, I understand how this business operates.

He responded, “And just that entire situation is so layered, man.”

I have no way of defending him or his actions. However, “Malcolm-Warner went on to say, “I can’t throw him under the bus completely.” since I am aware of every layer.
