Iyanya, a singer from Nigeria, pays tribute to the victims of the recent string of deadly attacks in Benue State, which have left several people dead and injured.  ,
“I want to dedicate this song to the entire Benue State population. We all share your pain, so we all have to go through this,” Iyanya wrote in a message on Instagram that included a video of Joy in Chaos, a gospel remix by Holy Drill.
The Cross River-born singer continued, “I pray God comforts everyone who lost a friend, a brother, a mother, a father, or a family member.”
The song’s original lyrics, which were written in 2023, contain themes of resilience and faith in times of tragedy:
When everything around me shakes, I’ve never been more happy, I put my faith in Jesus, and He’s never let me down. Christ is my solid foundation.
I still find joy in chaos, peace that makes no sense, and I won’t fall if I don’t trust myself, for I have built my life on Jesus, who has never let me down.

Iyanya’s tribute comes as Benue’s recent attacks continue to elicit outrage both domestically and internationally.
Over 100 people were killed in the Guma Local Government Area’s Yelewata and Daudu communities on June 14.
The figure had already exceeded 200 by Sunday, according to reports. In Makurdi LGA, Mtswenem and Akondotyough Bawa communities reportedly killed 25 more people.
The killings have sparked new calls for government intervention and widespread outcry.
Celebrities condemn murder

Innocent Idibia, a singer from Benue and known as 2Baba, led the charge, describing the situation as a “national emergency”
What is happening in my state has turned into a national emergency. It’s beyond my comprehension. In a video shared on Instagram, 2Baba stated, “I don’t even know what to say at this point because it will be business as usual.”
The saying goes, “This thing must stop, that’s enough.” Everyone needs to be involved in it. Every stakeholder in Benue State, every stakeholder in this nation. This is not a game for children. He continued, “It’s getting ridiculous.”
The singer lamented the murders’ repeated frequency, saying, “We need a solution here. Let’s take the solution seriously. My heart is heavy, horribly depressed, and enraged.
Support for 2Baba’s efforts was gathered from other famous people and politicians. The video’s creator, Rapper Olamide, posted it on X (previously Twitter) with the caption “Prayers up for Benue.”
Kate Henshaw, Falz, Patience Ozokwor, Mayorkun, Ayra Starr, MI Abaga, Mr. Macaroni, Sabinus, Kehinde Bankole, Bobrisky, Femi Lazarus, VeryDarkMan, Tacha, Omoni Oboli, and Pastor Bolaji are other well-known figures who have joined the call for justice.
They demanded immediate, steadfast action to put an end to the killings and bring back peace to the struggling state.

Police, I’m hoping your men are on top of their game to look up information. Why hasn’t an arrest been made yet? The President stated, “I anticipate that those criminals will be apprehended.”
He further advised intelligence services to improve security responses and information gathering, saying, “DG NIA, DG SSS, retool your information channels and ensure that this is prevented.”
