Although having too many strikers is a luxury, Aggie Beever-Jones has made some difficult decisions, and Sarina Wiegman made some of them.

England’s number nine shirt is sought-after, with Chelsea’s Beever-Jones and Arsenal’s Alessia Russo serving as its mainstay.

Add in on-loan Brighton forward Michelle Agyemang, and Wiegman has three very talented players to choose from.

Agyemang is a promising young prospect who worries about going off injured in England’s 3-0 win over Australia on Tuesday night.

However, Beever-Jones, who scored her first senior goal for Chelsea in April, has since switched to a regular starting position and finished the 2024-2019 campaign as England’s top scorer.

Even if Russo has shown her worth, there has been much discussion about whether Wiegman can afford to leave Beever-Jones out of the starting lineup for that long.

Beever-Jones took advantage of the opportunity to score England’s opening goal from the left-wing position on Tuesday when Wiegman played them both.

After scoring her seventh goal in 13 international games, Beever-Jones told ITV, “Playing football brings out the best in me wherever I am playing.”

Beever-Jones almost immediately faced threat from Australia when she was just three minutes away from crossing a Beth Mead cross.

When she was offside when she struck goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold moments later, she finally got on the scoresheet when Russo was shown the yellow card by Alanna Kennedy and Beever-Jones scored from the resulting free kick.

The 22-year-old continued to cause issues before being forced to leave prematurely, picking up a knock with less than 10 minutes left.

She had such a bright personality. Former England defender Anita Asante described her on ITV as “making really good runs and making herself a nuisance.”

She also inquired about Sarina because I know she wants to play for England in every way she can.

Beever-Jones’ only played 74 minutes for the team during their success in Switzerland, having started twice and coming off the bench once, which gave her both the ability to handle those emotions and deal with the disappointment of being chosen.

I’ve always believed in timing. She told BBC Radio 5 Live, “I look back and realize I wish I could have played more or given more of my assistance.”

However, as soon as it was over, I immediately thought, “right, go back to my club, smash it, do what you can do, and hit the ground running.”

Beever-Jones did just that, leading to calls for her to start this week’s friendlies after scoring four goals in six WSL matches.

In the second-half of Brazil’s defeat on Saturday, she was a substitute for her 27 minutes, but Wiegman gave her the opportunity to play wide against Australia, and she was pleased with what she saw.

Russo and Bever-Jones have previously played together. Three players, all of whom are good and very different, play at center-forward, in my opinion,” Wiegman said.

Aggie can also play sideboard. You saw that today, showing that she is very quick and agile, which can benefit the team.

Ellie Carpenter, a Chelsea teammate, was aware of Beever-Jones’ threat and a member of the opposition’s backline.

With injury to Mayra Ramirez and return to Australia’s top international Sam Kerr, she now occupies the regular number nine spot at Chelsea.

Ian Wright, a former England striker, claimed Beever-Jones has “the right attitude” by anticipating opportunities and patiently waiting for them.

She can play both wide and nine. She is a top striker, according to clubmate Carpenter, who added.

Beever-Jones seized on the chance, as did debutant Lucia Kendall.

The 21-year-old midfielder won player of the match after displaying a mature, confident display in her first senior game.

Was Wiegman anticipating her to settle in well, or did she anticipate that she would be just as cool?

“To be honest, I didn’t really find her to be surprised by how well she performed at Aston Villa. You immediately saw her understanding and understanding of the game as soon as she arrived, even though we didn’t have that many training sessions,” Wiegman said.

She maintains a simple operation. Although it appears simple, it’s not really that simple. So I had hoped a little bit more than I had anticipated, but I did hope a little bit more.

I merely wanted her to play and enjoy herself, and I believe that is what she did.

Kendall said it felt “awesome” to make her Derby debut in front of a sold-out crowd, which was undoubtedly a fun night.

“I felt at home,” I said. She told ITV that the girls were so simple to play with and fit right in.

Sarina simply said, “Play it and enjoy it while I’ve been playing at my club.” Because of my family’s presence, it became even more special.

You couldn’t even have imagined that when I was a young girl.

In the second half, she made her mark by hitting a header past the crossbar and coming up against Australia on numerous occasions.

To see her succeed in this demonstrates how far the game has advanced, Wright continued.
