After triggering his 25 million euros (£21.33 million) release clause, Barcelona have signed goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol.
The 24-year-old will officially sign a six-year contract with the Spanish champions on Friday.
Garcia has opted to stay in his native Spain, despite reports that he had been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal.
He has made 67 appearances for the club since making his Espanyol debut in 2021.
He played for Spain’s age-group teams and won gold with their Olympic team in Paris last summer, but he has yet to earn a senior cap.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who spent most of last season on the sidelines after breaking his patella tendon in September, will face competition from Barcelona.
