Three family members were killed on Tuesday while preparing for the harvest on their farm in the Miango district of Plateau State’s Bassa Local Government Area.
Two others received severe injuries from machete cuts, according to sources close to the community, and they were receiving medical care in Jos, the state capital.
Members of the fact-finding committee visited the local government council secretariat ata-preserver-spaces=”true”>to learn about the ongoing attacks on the community, ata-preserver-spaces=”true”>including security agencies.
Major General Nicholas Rogers (retd.), the committee’s chairman, is a retired army officer and former commander of Operation Safe Haven. ), expressed shock at the attack despite the presence of members who were working to end the stringent attacks with lasting results.

He urged the Irigwe youths to refrain from self-help or repentance because the government was more determined to find peace and a solution in the area. He described the incident as heartbreaking.
Security personnel have increased their search for the killers as the deceased have since been interred.
After 13 people, primarily children and the elderly, were killed and houses burned in Juwan and Manja communities in the state’s Bokkos and Mangu local government areas by suspected herdsmen less than a week prior.
Ten people were killed and some seriously hurt in the deadly attack on Juwan in the Tangur District of the Bokkos Local Government Area.
Three people were killed in Manja, Chafem Chiefdom of Mangu Local Government Area.
When the attackers caught them unaware and killed them while they were working on the farm, tending to the farmland and tilling the grounds.
After receiving a distress call from those who had escaped the onslaught, security personnel intervened to save others who had been injured.
Amalau Samuel, the Bokkos Local Government Council’s chairman, described the sad incident as barbaric and inhuman.

Prior to security personnel’s intervention, the terrorists in the other attack in Manja, Chafem Kingdom of Mangu, managed to kill three people on the farm with over 20 houses burned.
According to a Mangu South representative from the Plateau State House of Assembly, the terrorists attacked the area, killing three people, before retaliating with the youths by collaborating with security forces.
