Kyle Ashman, who was removed from the upcoming series before the show even began, has insisted he is not a bad guy in an interview with X-LOVE Island.

Kyle Ashman, the star of Axed Love Island, insists in a new video that he is “not a bad guy” and that he hopes to participate in this year’s ITV dating show despite being cut from the lineup shortly after he was announced.

Kyle, 23, was announced earlier this week as a member of the upcoming line-up for this year’s upcoming trip to the villa in search of romance. However, his time in the limelight was abruptly cut short as a report claimed the water operative was detained and interrogated by police in Stafford as well as another person for an alleged attack that occurred in February of that year.

Following the reports, Kyle and ITV spoke out on his departure from the show. Kyle strongly denied having any involvement in the incident. He said: “I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.” Meanwhile, ITV told the Mirror: “For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.”

Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned, according to ITV’s statement regarding his departure.

Kyle has shared his hopes for participating in this year’s series in a video he posted online since returning home. Kyle says, “Hello everyone, I’m Kyle, I’m Kyle, and I’m wearing a white verst and jeans and a cup. I just came on here to let you know how the news has been circulating. There was no further action because I’m innocent.

As he continues, “I’m not a bad guy, I’m not a bad guy,” he sighs. I’m a regular guy who lives in a regular place. And a match was made for love. It was taken from me after I used both of my hands to grab it. I’ve seen all the support pages, and who knows, I might have a chance to join Casa Amor or work as a bombshell, and introduce myself to you. He says, “We’ll see,” and he nods his head.

A statement from Staffordshire Police read: “We were called to a social club on Riverway, Stafford, at 7.40pm on Friday 28 February following reports that someone had been glassed outside and a fight was taking place.

Some of the men involved were carrying weapons and wearing masks. After suffering injuries at the scene, two men rushed to a hospital. Both have since been released.

At the scene, a man and a woman suffered minor wounds but did not require medical care.

A 22-year-old Stafford resident was detained on suspicion of assault and wounds. On suspicion of affray, another man, also from Stafford, was detained. Without any further action, neither of them were released.

Kyle had discussed his expectations for the show and how he chatted up his love interests before entering the villa. He said, “I just go with it, find a compliment on a girl, and go from there.” The actor continued, “The star said he was looking for someone who was fun, self-assured, and independent.”

Kyle’s replacement was confirmed last night despite Kyle’s absence from the show. Conor will instead be searching for love, according to the show. He claimed when asked about signing up for the show that he wanted someone who was “absolutely confident in themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter, and good craic.”

Blu, Shakira, Harry, Helena, Megan, Tommy, Alima, Ben, Sophie Lee, Dejon, and Meg all appear in the villa together. On Monday, June 9 at 9 p.m., ITV2 will begin airing the new series.
